Young, 400 Broad St., New Bethlehem Getting it right - Constance "Connie" Davis William Deal, 85, of 219 Egbert St., Franklin, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his residence, with his wife and daughter at his side. Born Nov. 11, 1923, in Stoneboro, he was the son of the late George Deal and Marie McQuiston. Mr. Deal was married Dec. 11, 1944, to Thelma I. Smith. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Deal worked predominantly for Shreckengost Construction as a union carpenter. He was a member and past governor of the Moose Club, a member and past commander of VFW Post 1835, and a member of the Eagles Club. Mr. Deal's hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Mr. Deal is survived by four children, Robert Allen Deal of Franklin, George Albert Deal and his wife, Barbara, of Richmond, Va., Billie Lee McMichael and her husband, John, of Galveston, Texas, and Phyllis Jane Deal Moorhouse of Franklin; 13 grandchildren, Robert Allen Deal Jr of Franklin, Tambra Lynn Karns and her husband, David, of Galveston, Texas, William Henry Deal and his wife, Shannon, of Franklin, Susan Marie Moorhouse Kern and her husband, Scott, of Guam, Tomi Rea Moorhouse Williams and her husband, David, of Diamond, Ohio, Terri Jo McMichael of Meadville, Rhonda Montgomery and her husband, Rob, of Titusville, Brian Deal of Beaver, George Deal and his wife, Courtney, of Richmond, Va., Laura Deal of Atlanta, Ga., Ann Deal of Richmond, Va., and Barbara McMichael and John McMichael, both of Galveston, Texas; and 29 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Deal was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond Deal, Nicholas Deal, Lawrence Deal and George Deal; six sisters, Mabel Zavotney, Katherine Deal, Leona Keilmeir, Francis Keilmeir, Edith Lindsey and Mary Deal; one daughter, Barbara Ann Deal; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Deal; and one son-in-law, Richard Mason. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jo Pottle of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Franklin Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard. Henery, 39, of Kerr Avenue, Emlenton, died at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his residence after battling an extended illness. Kirk was born in Franklin on Sept. 11, 1969. He was the son of Patricia Hassler Henery of Emlenton and the late Kay S. Henery. Kirk attended Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School. He was of the Methodist faith and worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends, who heard Kirk say many times, "It's all good." In addition to his mother, Kirk is survived by two sons, Tyler and Landon; one sister, Marcy Campbell and her husband, Jay, of Emlenton; one brother, Dougie Henery of Polk; two nieces, Jessica Campbell and her friend, Ben Bobbert, who was also Kirk's caretaker, and Samantha Campbell of Emlenton; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, Kirk was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lois and Raldon Hassler; and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Henery. Riddlebaugh Jr., 62, of Vowinckel, formerly of Pittsburgh, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 21, 2009, at his home. Born Dec. 9, 1946, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Harry Riddlebaugh Sr. and Viola Gault Riddlebaugh. He married the former Joni L. Cutshall on Oct. 16, 1997, and she survives. Mr. Riddlebaugh was retired from Consumers Produce in the Strip District of Pittsburgh. He loved retirement in the Cook Forest area and was an avid golfer. In addition to his wife, Mr. Riddlebaugh is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Kimberly M. (Riddlebaugh) and David Hritz of Clairton; two brothers, Thomas Riddlebaugh of Penn Hills and Timothy Riddlebaugh of Alamagordo, N.M.; and a sister, Susan Damien of North Royalton, Ohio. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many friends, including special friends Chuckles, Bernie, Tony, Ronnie and Mark. He is also survived by his beloved pets, Doodlebug, Dinky, Wyatt, Butthead and Dixiebelle. Mr. Riddlebaugh was preceded in death by his parents. Born Jan. 16, 1923, in the Nebraska area of Forest County, she was the daughter of Edgar K. Small and Inez Weaver Small. She served her country during World War II in the Women's Marine Corps. She is survived by a brother, Edgar C. Small of Tionesta; a sister, Phyllis A. Small of Tionesta; and two nephews, Keith Small of Washington County and Blaine Small of Tionesta. Mlakar, pastor of the Word of Grace Full Gospel Church of Tionesta, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Collins Cemetery in Tionesta. Benjamin J. Stiller Jr, 82, of 39 W. Fourth St., Oil City, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born July 4, 1926, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Benjamin J. Stiller Sr. and Ellen Kirchner Stiller. Mr. Stiller retired from the U.S. Air Force with 25 years of service. Among his various awards and medals were the Army Commendation Medal, USAF Commendation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City and the American Legion. Surviving are a brother, Richard Stiller and his wife, Trudy, of Oil City, a sister-in-law, Peggy Bucholz and her husband, Gus, of Orchard Park, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his godchild, Jennifer Wagner of Oil City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Paul; and two sisters, Marietta Wagner and Julia Roddy. Roy Blair Wineberg, 90, of Widnoon, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 22, 2009, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning. Born Jan. 20, 1919, in Widnoon, he was the son of Henry "Clay" Wineberg and Elma Moose Wineberg. He married the former Emma Jane Hopper on April 10, 1941, in Putneyville, and she died Nov. 12, 2005. Mr. Wineberg was a teacher with the Ford City, Redbank Valley and Armstrong school districts, and he retired in 1981. He was a 1935 graduate of Kittanning High School and a 1939 graduate of Grove City College. Mr. Wineberg was a lifelong member of Widnoon Methodist Church, where at one time he was a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Mr. Wineberg enjoyed gardening, woodworking and working on his farm in Widnoon, but his greatest love was his family and friends. He is survived by two sons, Vernon Wineberg of Templeton and Berton Wineberg and his wife, Ruth Ann, also of Templeton; two daughters, Linda Hilliard and her husband, Ivan, of Widnoon, and Penny Dill and her husband, Bob, of Templeton; and one brother, Marlin Wineberg of Wheatbridge, Colo. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Michael Hilliard of Widnoon, Julie Hilliard of Kittanning, Laurie Crow of Pittsburgh, Edwin Wineberg of Yatesboro, Shanelle Dill of Plum and Andrew Dill of Monroeville; five great-grandchildren, Veronica and Elizabeth Crow, Nathan Hilliard, Acelynn Zimmerman and Rilynn Dill; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Wineberg. Young, 80, of 400 Broad St., New Bethlehem, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Sligo. Born Dec. 7, 1928, in Redbank Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Curtis Evans and Dorothy Pearl Bish Evans. Both parents preceded her in death. She married Russell E. Young on May 13, 1950, and he survives. Mrs. Young was a housekeeper and also worked at various restaurants in the area. She is survived by two sons, Russell E. Young Jr. of Seneca and Charles Young of New Bethlehem; one sister, Betty Emahizer of Aliquippa; and one brother, Robert O. Evans of New Bethlehem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby White. Arrangements are under the direction of the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn, and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Roger Overmyer and the Rev. Randy Evans, the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice chaplain. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Mahoning Township, Armstrong County. Second St., Oil City, died at 7:52 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at DuBois Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Preceding her in death were her stepson, Tom Davis, and his wife, Karen.
