Coffey, 82, of 1288 Belmar Road, Franklin, died at 1:59 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at UPMC in Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 24, 1926, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Clarence George Ritchey and Eleanor L. Phenicie. She was married May 10, 1946, to Eugene S. Coffey, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Coffey worked from 1947 to 1966 as a secretary at Joy Manufacturing, until retiring after 19 years of service. She was a member of the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle, enjoyed attending church and camp meetings and liked reading the Bible. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and traveling. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Reed of Franklin; two grandchildren, Aleta Shultz and husband, Joseph, of Taiwan and Paul Edward Reed Jr. and wife, Jen, of Danville, Ky.; and seven sisters, Nancy Ditzenberger of Franklin, Doris Ducasse of Stockton, Calif., Jean Keith and husband, Virgil, of Franklin, Betty Gordon of Franklin, Patricia Willyoung and husband, Lawrence, of Franklin, Janet Wilson and husband, Ken, of Volcano, Calif. and Mary Jane Crawley of Franklin. She is also survived by four brothers, Wayne Ritchey and wife, Billie Lee, of Cooperstown, Merle Ritchey and wife, Anna, of Franklin, Fredrick Ritchey of Meadville and Paul Ritchey and wife, June, of Dayton, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren, Keegan, Dugan and Zoe Reed of Danville, Ky. and Kelly and Jason Beers of Danville, Ky. Ruth Norman McCauley, 84, formerly of Shippenville, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, in Canton, Ohio, where she had been living since May 2007. Born Nov. 27, 1924, in Geneva, N.Y., she was a daughter of Joseph and Zaynie Norman. She was married May 18, 1947, to William Andrew McCauley, who preceded her in death on July 4, 1990. Mrs. McCauley was awarded a bachelor's degree in education from the State University of New York College in Geneseo in June 1946. She taught elementary school in New York and had been co-director of the Community Pre-School in Clarion. She served on the Clarion Free Library board of directors and was a member of the American Association of University Women. Mrs. McCauley enjoyed travel, playing bridge and solving crossword puzzles. She also loved to entertain and was happiest when spending time with family and friends. She is survived by a son and his wife, Thomas McCauley and Belinda Massaro of Reston, Va.; two daughters, Janet McCauley Herrick and husband, James, of Massillon, Ohio and Barbara McCauley Hankins and husband, William, of Franklin; a brother, Abraham Norman of Elmira, N.Y.; and two sisters, Helen Close of Big Flats, N.Y. and Martha Rashid of Bethesda, Md. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Sara Snyder of Pittsburgh, Jennifer Herrick of Rockville, Md., Gregory Herrick of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Andrew McCauley of Reston, Va. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Elias; two brothers, Joseph Norman and George Norman; and an infant granddaughter, Amy Hankins. Online memorials may be sent to www.goblefh.net. Sally Duffy Megeath, 68, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley in Ohio. She died of lung cancer after giving, in her own words, "a good Irish fight." Born Sept. 29, 1940, in New Haven, Conn., she was a daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Duffy. She was raised by the late John and Olga Kenny. Mrs. Megeath was married Oct. 16, 1965, to James C. Megeath, who preceded her in death in 1996. Together they lived in Hingham, Mass., Bloomfield, Conn. and for the past 32 years, in Franklin. She was a 1958 graduate of Meriden High School in Connecticut and attended Central State College. Mrs. Megeath spent most of the past 35 years working as a travel agent and was previously employed by several travel agencies. She most recently operated her own independent business, Sally Travel. She often said that she loved having the opportunity to travel the world and to help others do the same. Mrs. Megeath lived an active life in Franklin. She volunteered with many organizations and events, including the YMCA, the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce, the Barrow-Civic Theatre, the Franklin Gardeners Association, The Franklin Club and Applefest. She introduced and organized the annual "Taste of Franklin" event that has enjoyed continued success for the past 14 years. Until recently, she served as the social director of the Business Network Professionals, which greatly benefited from her creative ideas and fun-loving spirit. Most notably, Mrs. Megeath was designated Franklin's Woman of the Year in 2005, an accomplishment she proudly remembered as a culmination of her hard work and love for the town of Franklin. She is survived by two children, Jamie Jamison and husband, Dr. James Jamison, of Canfield, Ohio and Michael Megeath of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren, Matthew Jamison, Elise Jamison and Kellyn Jamison; a sister, Janice Gilbert of Stuart, Fla.; two nieces; a nephew; seven great-nieces and nephews; and one anticipated great-great-nephew. Thomas W. Oelkrue, 68, of 114 Nagel Road, Henry's Bend, Oil City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at his home. Born June 24, 1940, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Willard (Babe) and Josephine C. (Jo) Sepko Oelkrue. A peacetime veteran of the United States Air Force, he served from Jan. 8, 1959, to Jan. 7, 1963, and was a member of the 6927th Alumni Group. He was a 1958 graduate of West Forest High School. Mr. Oelkrue worked as a pressman at Venango Newspapers for more than 35 years until he retired in 2002. He was a life member of the Graphic Communications International Union. He was a Catholic. Mr. Oelkrue belonged to the Fryburg Sportsman Club, PNA, VFW, Eagles and the Pulaski Club. A man with a passion for life, he was everyone's friend. His meticulous nature could be seen in the care he gave to his classic General Motors' cars, his home and the way he mowed his grass and trimmed the shrubs. He enjoyed the river and you might've seen him paddling his canoe or walking around the Bend in his sandals, cutoffs and muscle shirt. He is survived by two sons, Thomas and Jeffrey Oelkrue; a stepson, Darin Heller; a grandson, Dakota Oelkrue; and his former wife, Carolyn Oelkrue. Freda Marie Reese, 80, of Mercer, formerly of Old Route 8, Polk, died Jan. 4, 2009, at the residence of her son in Mercer. Born May 9, 1928, in Boyers, she was a daughter of John Albert Norcross and Efie Jeanetta Christy. She was married to Fred Reese, who preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1981. Mrs. Reese worked as a custodian in the Franklin Area School District until she retired in 1991. She was a lifelong member of the Hebron Community Church in Victory Township, Venango County, and enjoyed needlepoint and puzzles. She is survived by four children, Nancy L. He will be forever remembered by family and friends as a kind, gentle man with strong moral conviction and a family loyalty. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born in 1914 at Roses, Forest County, he was the youngest of 13 children to Cyrus and Agnes Seigworth Schrecengost. He was married in 1941 to Alice Crum, who preceded him in death in 1992. Serving on the home front because of his occupation as a machinist during World War II, he always taught his family about service to his country and how it can be manifested in many ways. To that end, Mr. Schrecengost belonged to many social and civic groups, including the Marienville Area Civic Association, the Lions Club International, Forest County Sportsman Club and the NRA. He was past master of Olive Temple Lodge #557, Coudersport Consistory, Jefferson Royal Arch Chapter #225 and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Mr. Schrecengost became a well respected machinist and an avid sportsman and gunsmith, making many guns for family members over the years. He retired from Knox Glass in Marienville. He was also a member of the Marienville United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Dang Schrecengost of Altus, Okla.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. (Larry) Phyllis Boyd Schrecengost of Ypsilanti, Mich.; four loving grandchildren, Gary Schrecengost and wife, Kris, of Elm, Todd Schrecengost and wife, Deanna, of Belleville, Mich, Amy Turcich and husband, Bronco, of Williamstown, N.J. and Lisa and Alison Vickery of San Jose, Calif. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Servey, 80, of Reidsburg, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at the Clarion Hospital. Born Sept. 29, 1928, he was a son of G. Frank Servey and Goldie Belle Henry Servey. He was married Oct. 13, 1958, to L. Leona Space, who survives. Mr. Servey was a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952, serving in the 109th Engineers in Germany and France during the Korean War. He worked for Clarion Dry Cleaners for 23 years and later worked for Kiser Coal and C & K Coal Co. He was a member of the VFW, a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Clarion and also the American Legion. He is survived two daughters, Peggy Gourley and husband, Nobel (Punk), of Reidsburg and Anita Hinkle and husband, Jeff, of Emlenton; five sons, Tom Servey and friend, Cindy, of Sligo, Frank Servey and wife, Lynn, of Hughey, Mark Servey and wife, Liz, of Reidsburg, Bruce Servey and friend, Candy, of Clarion and Jack Servey and wife, Gretchen, of Clarion; and two stepsons, Dan Space and wife, Pam, of Shippenville and Sam Space of Mercer. Mrs. Vicha, a homemaker, was a member of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America, Bichon Frise Club of America and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Her hobbies were showing and breeding dogs. Mrs. Vicha's family remembers her as a loving, caring, giving, generous and upbeat person with a good sense of humor. She is survived by two sons, Darrell A. and wife, Joyce, of Mentor, Ohio, and Kevin D. and wife, Kathrine, of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Susan K. of Cleveland, Ohio; a grandson, David A.
