McCool, 341 Spruce St., Strattanville Pauline C. Rembold, Route 322, Cranberry Raymond Park Richards, 10 Federal St., Brookville Emma "Betty" Elizabeth Walter, Sligo native Dixie L. Clark, 65, formerly of 423 Two Mile Run Road, Franklin, passed away unexpectedly Saturday Jan. 17, 2009, at Bert Fish Hospital in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., surrounded by her loving family. Born Oct. 21, 1943, in Franklin, Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late Richard B. Wolfe and Mary L. Engles. She was married Sept. 5, 1959, to Wayne H. Clark Jr, who survives. Mrs. Clark worked as a manager at Swelbles Bakery. She was a life member of the Venango County Coon and Fox Club where she was actively involved in organizing numerous events including bluegrass festivals. Mrs. Clark was also a member of the Quail Hollow Social club in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. , where she recently became president and organized numerous parties and events. She enjoyed taking casino trips with her husband, crocheting, crafting, redecorating her houses, spending her winters in Florida and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Clark was also an avid Steelers fan. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Clark is also survived by a daughter, Brenda O'Neil and her husband, William, of Polk; and two sons, Duane Clark and Curtis Clark, and his wife, Kristie; all of Franklin. Also survivng are 15 grandchildren, Heather Winger, Hope O'Neil and Hannah O'Neil, all of Polk; Heidi Pyle, Austin Clark, Curtis Clark, Bailey Clark, Dylan Clark, Krsiti Clark, Misti Clark and Tiffani Clark, all of Franklin; and Brittany Romero of North Carolina; and eight great-grandchildren with two more expected soon this year. Surviving in addition are three sisters; Joyce Fellner of Harrisville, Wanda Semple, and her husband, William, of Harrisville, and Cindy Hammer of Texas; three brothers, Andrew Engles of Harrisville, Stephen Engles and his wife, Linda, of Clintonville, and James Wolfe and his wife, Nancy, of Seneca; her mother-in-law, June Clark of Franklin, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Heath O'Neil, a sister, Mary Fife, and her stepfather, Nicholas Deal. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Baker, of Franklin Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin. Keener, 61, of 341 Troy Center Road, Titusville, died at 10:26 a.m. Monday Jan. 19, 2009, at Titusville Hospital. Born April 3, 1947, in Franklin, he was the son of the late James C. Keener and Dora H. Morrison. He was married July 12, 1969, to Agnes M. Heffern, who survives. Mr. Keener was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, and was retired after 30 years as a mechanic at Joy Manufacturing. Mr. Keener was a member of Diamond United Methodist Church and of the Chapmanville VFD, where he was the assistant chief for several years and treasurer for several terms. He enjoyed his family, NASCAR, watching dirt track racing, hunting, the Pittsburgh Steelers, his John Deere Tractor, and was a fan of Darrell Bossard #22B. Mr. Keener also enjoyed his friends at Donovan-Bauer Auto Group and going to the casinos. In addition to his wife, Mr. Keener is survived by four children; Kevin C. Keener and his wife, Vera, of Oil City, Keith M. Keener and his wife, Racheal, of Cooperstown, Kimberly Keener of Titusville, and Keller Keener, of Titusville, and her special friend, Jeremiah Haugh, of Oil City; two grandchildren, Justin Grove and Kayne Denny, both of Oil City; a sister, Marilyn Sherman and her husband, Danny, of Wattsburg; five brothers, Donald O. Keener of Ridgeway, Melvin "Turtle" E. Keener and his wife, Diane, of Chapmanville, Jimmie E. Keener and his wife, Sandy, of Franklin David L. Keener of Franklin, and Clarence "Ike" Keener of Franklin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Keener is preceded in death by his step-father, John H. Vogan, and two brothers, James C. Keener Jr. and Richard G. "Dick" Keener. McCool, 41, of 341 Spruce Street, Strattanville, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Clarion Hospital. Born June 5, 1967, in Brookville, he is the son of the late Joseph R. McCool and Margaret Whiteman McCool, who survives in Sigel. He was married Oct. 28, 2000, in Lucinda, to the former Dawn M. Smith, who survives. Mr. McCool worked as an LPN at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville and UPMC Northwest in Seneca. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors, arts, crafts, music and computers. In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. McCool is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters, Kathleen "Kitty" Motter and her husband, Dale, of Sigel, Jeannine "Nene" Burkett and her husband, Clarence, of Sigel and Marlene Lenhart and her husband, Tim, of Knox. In addition to his father, Mr. McCool was preceded in death by a nephew, Cody Burkett, and numerous aunts and uncles. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. William P. Rembold, 89, of 7204 US Route 322, Cranberry, died at 12:54 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Dec. 6, 1919, in Summerville, she was a daughter of the late Frank Everett and Mary Young Carnes. Mrs. Rembold had worked as a nurse's aide at the Oil City Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cranberry United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rembold enjoyed visits from her grandchildren, quilting, building and refinishing furniture with her husband, and was a former bowler. She was married Jan. 11, 1940, to Edward James Rembold, who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1994. Mrs. Rembold is survived by three sons, Gary E. Rembold and his wife, Ann R., of Cranberry, James R. Rembold and his wife, Judith Ann, of Oil City and Lynn A. Rembold and his wife, Donna J., of Oil City; two daughters, Sandra Rembold Kostial and her husband, Joseph, of Aliquippa and Carol A. Fisher and her husband, Jack, of Lewes, Del.; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by a sister, Norma Cochran of Summerville, S.C., and a special caregiver, Carole Yeager. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rembold was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lane Rembold, a great-great-grandson, Conner Andrews, four brothers, Thomas Carnes, Frank Carnes Jr., William Heighley and Earl Heighley, and three sisters, Josephine Rudisille, Nina Clyde and Mary Jane Hess. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jayne French officiating. Raymond Park Richards, 79, of 10 Federal St., Brookville, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born June 21, 1929, in Brookville, he was the son of the late Burton Richards and Rebecca Park Richards. He was married May 28, 1949, in Brookville, to the former Joan Shippen, who survives. He was a graduate of Brookville High School. Mr. Richards worked for the Bank and Trust Co. (now S&T Bank) in Brookville, Sylvania of Brookville, Brookville Riverside, and he retired from the Brookville Borough Department. Mr. Richards was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus where he had served as grand knight and a past member of Pinecreek Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Richards also coached Little League baseball. He enjoyed all sports and also enjoyed working outdoors - mowing grass in the summer and plowing snow in the winter. In addition to his wife, Mr. Richards is survived by three daughters, Susan Hammer of Brookville, Patricia Kocher and her husband, Wayne, of Brookville, and Jean Walter and her husband, Gregory, of Frederick, Md.; one son, Donald Richards and his wife, Janice, of Brookville; and a twin brother, Robert P. Richards of Brookville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Angie Hammer Campbell, Connie Hammer Bauer, Lee Hammer, Kristopher Kocher, Jesse Kocher, Zachary Kocher, Kurtis Richards, Keith Richards, Tori Walter and Jeremy Walter; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Richards was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence B. Richards; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville with the Rev. Joseph Staszewski officiating. Emma "Betty" Elizabeth Walter, 88, left her loving family to enter her heavenly home and rejoin her devoted husband on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009. Born May 1, 1920, in Sligo, she was the daughter of the late Samuel D. and Ruth Elizabeth Gourley Carnathan. Mrs. Walter graduated from Union Joint High School in Rimersburg, and attended Clarion State College in Clarion. She was married Oct. 9, 1940, in Cumberland, Md., to Harold C. Walter with whom she enjoyed 64 years of marriage, including having six children. Mrs. Walter and her husband spent their first 18 years in Rimersburg where she was dubbed the "town baker", as she provided homemade rolls for local families and church functions in Rimersburg. Mrs. Walters moved to Loveland, Colo., in 1958 where she completed her college studies at UNC in Greeley. She taught fifth grade in the Loveland schools from 1962 to 1974. Mrs. Walter and her husband moved to Good Samaritan Village in 2004. They enjoyed being members of LifeSpring Covenant Church, spending time with family, attending Cornerstone, Bible studies, and dining out. Mrs. Walter lived her life sharing her love and her faith in Jesus Christ with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and people she met. Mrs. Walter is survived by four daughters, Carol McRae and her husband, Scott, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Carlson and her husband, Larry, of Loveland, Colo., P. Kay Cruise and her husband, Jack, of Loveland, Colo., and Debbie Walter of Loveland, Colo.; and two sons, John Walter of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Ed Walter and his wife, Catherine, of Arvada, Colo. She is survived by three sisters, Lucille Kifer and Evelyn Trainer, both of Clarion, and Jane Reed of Rimersburg; two sisters-in-law, Kay Carnathan and Della Carnathan, both of Rimersburg; and 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Walter was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Peck" Walter on Jan. 9, 2005, two brothers, Leroy Carnathan and Gary Carnathan, and a sister, Gladys Eddy of Elyria, Ohio. She left a positive impression on everyone she encountered as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend. Most who met and knew her would say she helped them to be a better person just by being around her and wanting to emulate her endearing Family and friends were invited to the funeral service Jan. 19 at LifeSpring Covenant Church, Loveland, Colo.
