    3. The Derrick, January 11, 2008: Gladys L. Goodman, 490 Upper Sage Run Road, Oil City John C. "Jack" Henderson, 1770 Rocky Grove Ave., Franklin Dorothy Stoner Henry, Butler, formerly of West Sunbury and Eau Claire Gladys L. Goodman, 82, of 490 Upper Sage Run Road, Oil City, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Oct. 5, 1925, in Oil City, she was a daughter of James S. and Irene C. Hotchkin Wood. Mrs. Goodman was a 1943 graduate of Oil City High School. She worked at Foster Forbes Glass from 1957 until 1983 when she retired at the plant closing. Mrs. Goodman was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. On June 29, 1943, she was married in Grenada, Miss., by the late Rev. C.A. Pharr to Glenn E. Goodman, who preceded her in death Aug. 16, 1982. Surviving are a son, James L. Goodman and wife, Jane, of Cranberry; three grandchildren, Christina N. Trbusich and husband, John, Brandy Lee Goodman and James L. Goodman Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen and John Trbusich Jr, and Jarrod Stephens. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Goodman was preceded in death by a son, William E. Goodman in 1964; and a brother, Harold F. Wood. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. John C. "Jack" Henderson, 80, of 1770 Rocky Grove Ave., Franklin, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin. Born May 20, 1927, in Rocky Grove, he was the son of John C. and Bernice L. Reap Henderson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Henderson retired in 1987 as a machinist-inspector from Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co., Franklin. He was a member of Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church where he was an elder. Mr. Henderson was a past member of Kiwanis Club and the CPT Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Senior Citizens Golf League. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, camping and his dog, Jade. He especially liked spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Henderson was married May 16, 1947, to Kathryn L. "Kate" Mong, who preceded him in death. Surviving are four children, John C. Henderson Jr. and wife, Vicki, Patti Stevens and Nancy Weltner and husband, Donald, all of Franklin, and Ann Bell and husband, David, of New Castle; 12 grandchildren, Daniel Bell and wife, Stefanie, and Carrie Bell, all of New Castle, Leigh Kamarec and husband, Marc, of Cranberry; Ann Marie Jarrett and husband, James, of Cleveland, Ohio; Jamie Phillips, Gabriel Henderson and wife, Darcy, Kaitlin Griffin and husband, Jarrad, Frederic Stevens III and fiancée, Alisha Burger, Bradley Beightol and fiancée, Carrie Brink,, Aaron Weltner and Nickolas Henderson, all of Franklin; and Alisha Newton and husband, Jimmy, of Mentor,. Ohio; and 11 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Stella Schaeffer of Michigan City, Ind., and Janet McCurdy and husband, Blair, of Cochranton; and one brother, Ray Henderson and wife, Audrey, of Oil City. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. Marc de Jeu, pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. David Bell, pastor of the First United Brethren in Christ Church, New Castle. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard of Franklin. Dorothy Stoner Henry Dorothy Stoner Henry, 93, of Butler, formerly of West Sunbury and Eau Claire, mother of Ruth Ann Woolcock of Oil City and stepmother of Rebecca Miller of Harrisville, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.
