The Derrick, March 28, 2009: Mary Ellen Ramsden, Washington, Pa., Clarion County native Getting it Right - Charlotte Morrison Mary Ellen Ramsden, 79, of Washington, Pa., a native of Clarion County, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, in the Washington Hospital. Born April 24, 1929, in Knox, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Aldine Brown McConnell. She was married June 30, 1951, in Knox, to Charles W. Ramsden, who preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1990. Mary Ellen was a graduate of Knox High School and continued her education at Clarion College, where she received her bachelor's degree in education. She taught at North Franklin Elementary School for 25 years. Mrs. Ramsden is survived by a son, Bill Ramsden and his wife, Sandy, of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; three daughters, Sue Fulton and her husband, Rodney, of Marietta, Ga., Kelli Miles of Canonsburg and Lori Cope and her husband, Dan, of Pittsburgh; a brother, Bill McConnell and his wife, Janice, of Towanda; eight grandchildren, Scott Ramsden, Patrick Ramsden, Lisa Ramsden, Matt Fulton, Drew Fulton, Brett Fulton, Mason Cope and Chad Cope; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Ave., Washington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
