Lineman Henry A. Andres, 94, of Halyday Run Road, formerly of Chestnut Street, went to be with the Lord at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1914, in Chicago, he was a devoted son of Anthony and Mary Schiffer Andres. Mr. Andres attended Assumption School in Oil City. He was a poultry farmer prior to opening Andres Bakery on Halyday Run Road in 1940, which he designed and built. He was a co-owner of Andres Bakery, a family business, which was started by his father and uncle. Mr. Andres was a member of Assumption BVM Church and the PNA. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Andres loved taking long walks through his woods, was proud of his Polish heritage and loved to dance the polka. On Sept. 10, 1945, at Assumption BVM Church, he married Irene Mary Pilewski, who preceded him in death April 1, 2008. Mr. Andres is survived by seven "baker's half dozen" children, Rose Marie Ulrich and her husband, Joseph, of Smithsburg, Md., Eugene Andres and his wife, Patricia, of South Euclid, Ohio, Kathryn "Kathy" McBride and Steve Brzezinski of Oil City, Larry Andres and his wife, Diane, of Oil City, Jim Andres and his wife, Janet, of Franklin, Jerome Andres and Vic Tiberie of Coraopolis and Barbara Waldron and her husband, James "Blue Hawk", of Oviedo, Fla. Also surviving are 13 "baker's dozen" grandchildren, Alex, Timothy and James Ulrich, Paul, Brendan, Catherine, Joshua and Shawn Andres, Ryan Andres and his wife, Jamie, Kylie Harris and her husband, Nathan, Erin Weaver, Alan McBride and Jackie Paladino; one great-grandson, Aiden James Andres; one brother, Sigismund Andres and his wife, Winifred Tarr Andres, of Southern Pines, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick and John Andres. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Assumption BVM Church with Msgr. John Swoger presiding. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery. Blair, 88, of North East, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Millcreek Community Hospital. She was a former Franklin resident, and she worked at United Refinery in Franklin and CPT, retiring from there. Cecelia L. Clark, 80, of 659 Meadville Road, Titusville, died Monday morning, March 30, 2009, at her residence with her children by her side. Born Nov. 17, 1928, in Titusville, she was a daughter of the late J. Lloyd and Irene Perkins Locke. She was married to Harold E. "Whitey" Clark on Jan. 22, 1947, in Titusville, and he preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1995. Mrs. Clark was a 1946 graduate of Colestock High School in Titusville. She had been employed for a number of years at Quality Markets and was also a homemaker. Mrs. Clark was a member of St. Titus Church in Titusville and the Catholic Daughters of America. She had served as secretary of the Women's Bowling Association of Titusville for many years. At age 77, she bowled the highest series for her age of any Titusville woman. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed traveling and had been to all 50 states. She enjoyed playing horseshoes and golfing, and she loved her pet dog, Alex, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Clark is survived by seven children, James D. Clark of Appleton, Wash., Marie Nosker and her husband, Wayne, of Meadville, John M. Clark of Titusville, Anne Mangel and her husband, Bruce, of Mercer, Jeff A. Clark and his wife, Denise, and Joseph H. Clark and his wife, Tammi, all of Titusville, and Christopher Clark and his wife, Tammy, of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, Chad Weaver, Susan Sherwood, Michael Mangel, Jessica Amos, and Rachel, Andrew, Sean, Amy, Jennifer, Brian and Adam Clark; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Acel of Titusville and Ruth Ruot of Pleasantville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jonathan L. Locke Jr.; and three sisters, Catherine Lammers, Mary Elizabeth Wilson and infant Irene C. Locke. "Dick" Shoup, 82, of Culpeper, Va., formerly of Campbell Avenue, Emlenton, died at 4:28 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009, at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Born Sept. 4, 1926, in Alum Rock, Richland Township, Clarion County, he was the son of William and Helen Kaiser Shoup. Mr. Shoup was of the Protestant faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Shoup was a member of American Legion Post 10 in Manassas, Va. He was a Mason for more than 50 years. He was employed for 35 years as a senior purchasing agent for Gulf Oil Company, retiring in 1983. Mr. Shoup enjoyed tinkering around his home and took pride in maintaining his home and vehicles. He enjoyed hunting and had been an avid gun collector. Mr. Shoup is survived by one son, Mark W. Shoup and his wife, Sandy, of Manassas, Va.; one grandson, Airman 1st Class Mark W. Shoup Jr. of Shepard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Jack M. Shoup and his wife, Faith, of West Mifflin; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy E. Anderson Shoup, who died Nov. 21, 1995. Private funeral services will be held at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, with the Rev. Vernon Richard Smith, 79, of Brookville, died Sunday, March 28, 2009, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Born May 19, 1929, in Summerville, he was a son of the late Clarence E. and Jennie Louella Stahlman Smith. He was married June 12, 1951, to the former Marie C. Kerner of Brookville, who survives. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. He was stationed in Germany. After leaving the military, Mr. Smith worked for Bish Lumber Co., Charles Bush Lumber Co. and Oakes Lumber Co. for 23 years as a lumber foreman. He also worked for the New York Railroad and Stahlman Coal Co. Mr. Smith was a member of Kenport Assembly of God Church in Cherrytree for 10 years, where he served as a board member and an usher. He was also a member of the Brookville Assembly of God for 22 years, serving as a board member and usher, and the Punxsutawney Assembly of God Church for 19 years, serving as an usher. In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by a daughter, Kathy Shirey and her husband, Emerson, of Mayport; two granddaughters, Lorrie McDonald and her husband, Seth, of Fairmount City, and Angela Mills and her husband, Todd, of Oak Ridge; three great-granddaughters, Kayla Toy, Ciara Mills and Ariana McDonald; one great-grandson, Christian McDonald; one brother, Glenn Smith and his wife, Bernice, of Strattanville; and four step-brothers, Gifford Smith, Roger Smith, Fred Smith and Tom Smith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward Smith, James Smith, Gilbert Smith, Billy Smith and Wayne Smith; a step-brother, Don Smith; and three sisters, Barbara Smith, Virginia McCall and Vivian Eshbaugh. Born Aug. 23, 1934, in Clarion, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Kidd Alexander. She married Donald L. Zeitler Sr. on Sept. 9, 1960, in Clarion, and he preceded her in death May 21, 2004. She attended Clarion-Limestone School. Mrs. Zeitler was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Shippenville. She was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass plant for 40 years, retiring in May 1993. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Donald Zeitler Jr. and his companion, Sheriann Fisher, of Shippenville, and Earl Zeitler and his wife, Carrie, of Lincolnton, N.C.; and two daughters, Tammy Evans and her husband, Doug, and Mille Lauer and her husband, Kevin, all of Shippenville. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christy Wolbert and her husband, Randy, of Lucinda, Kelly Evans and her companion, John Graham, of Shippenville, Brandy Evans of Shippenville, Alex Henry of Clarion and Kyle Lauer of Shippenville; and three great-grandchildren, Zack Wolbert, Mason Burr and Quinten Graham. Also surviving are six sisters-in-law, Mary K. Alexander of Clarion, Bernice Alexander of Roseville, Mary Alice Wiles of Ford City, Lida Blanche King of Grove City, Annabella Zeitler of Pittsburgh and Ida Zeitler of Girard, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
