Ulan, Stubenville, Ohio, native of Tionesta Robert V. Huffman, 81, of Huckleberry Ridge Road, Knox, passed away at noon Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at his home. The David C. Kase, 82, of 813 W First St., Oil City, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, after a long battle with cancer. Born March 18, 1926, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Harry and Vera Hessler Kase. He and the former Genevieve McMurray were married by Monsignor Kelly on Aug. 19, 1946, in St. Stephen Church, and she survives. Mr. Kase attended school in Oil City and graduated from Oil City High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for two years in the Pacific on an LST boat as a fireman third class. Mr. Kase worked as a sales representative for General Foods for 36 years, retiring in June 1990 from a job he truly loved. He was greatly interested in the history of the oil industry in the local and surrounding areas, and all aspects of Conneaut Lake, where he spent a portion of each summer for much of his lifetime. Mr. Kase enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City, where he served as an usher. He was also a longtime member of the Oil City Knights of Columbus and a past member of the Elks Lodge. In addition to his wife, Mr. Kase is survived by three sons, Thomas Kase and his wife, Sandi, Bobby Joe Kase and his wife, Sue, and Scott Kase and his wife, Susan, all of Oil City; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kase was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Kase, James Kase and Donald Kase. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Church. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Stephen Church Second Century Fund or to St. Stephen School. Myrna "Evie" Lehman, 82, of Tionesta, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at her home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Mary Kathryn Reitz, 75, of 779 Reitz Road, Summerville, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 9, 2009, at Brookville Hospital. Born Jan. 24, 1934, in Summerville, she was the daughter of Richard Hummel and Pearle Carrier Hummel. Married June 5, 1954, in Summerville, she was a loving wife for 55 years to A. Lee Reitz, who survives. She was a member of Cliff United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending the church's functions. Mrs. Reitz also enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Reitz is survived by three sons, Jeff Reitz of Summerville, Rod Reitz and his wife, Amy, of Summerville, and Michael Reitz and his wife, Joyce, of Brookville; and two daughters, Ginger Mahle and her husband, Denny, of Summerville, and Pam Richter and her husband, Dan, of Marienville. Also surviving are two sisters, Hope Ross and Dorothy Cramer; eight grandchildren, LeeAnn Mahle Mitchell, Liza Mahle, Mallory and Taylor Reitz, Danielle and Bill Richter, and Olivia and Ben Reitz; and she was anticipating the birth of twin great-grandchildren in a few weeks. Rial Sr., 78, of 407 Liberty St., Franklin, went to meet his Lord at 6:05 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at The Caring Place in Franklin. Born April 4, 1930, in Franklin, he was a son of the late James O. and Pearl Kelsey Rial. He was married Dec. 10, 1948, to the former Lola E. Vogus, who survives. Mr. Rial attended the Franklin public schools. He was employed at Joy for 44 years, working as a heat treat operator at the time of his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Machinists Union Local 1842. Mr. Rial also was a member of the Franklin Missionary Alliance Church. He enjoyed playing and coaching softball and baseball and watching his Pittsburgh Steelers. He also was a family man who loved to work at remodeling, fixing small motors or, what his family fondly calls, tinkering. In addition to his wife, Mr. Rial is survived by five children, Robert E. Rial Jr. and his wife, Denise, Pamela E. Patterson and her husband, Charles, Bruce A. Rial and Craig L. Rial and his wife, Kathy, all of Franklin, and Judy M. McGinty and her husband, Robert, of Oil City; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Donald C. Rial of Burleson, Texas, and James H. Rial and his wife, Mimi, of Erie; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rial was preceded in death by twin granddaughters; three brothers, Wayne "Bill" Rial, Ray K. Born May 9, 1924, in Bradys Bend, Armstrong, County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Blair Hamilton and Bertha Crawford Hamilton. She was married Jan. 1, 1942, in Winchester, Va., to Norman Robert "Norm" Seybert, who survives. She attended East Brady High School. Mrs. Seybert was a longtime member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church near Rimersburg ,where she served as Sunday school teacher and Missionary Society treasurer for 13 years. She enjoyed her family, solving crossword puzzles and the TV program "Jeopardy." In addition to her husband, Mrs. Seybert is survived by three daughters, Norma J. Buzard and her husband, Carl, of Rimersburg, Doris M. Theuret of Rimersburg and Kathleen M. Wilshire and her husband, James, of Summerville; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Samuel Hamilton and his wife, Dolores, of Renfrew, Robert Hamilton of Ocala, Fla., and Thomas Hamilton and his wife, Eleanor, of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Doris Dee and her husband, Don, of Parker, and Creda Hornberger and her husband, Glenn, of Cowansville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Seybert was preceded in death by two daughters, Evelyn Louise Seybert on Dec. 23, 1942, and Carol Ann Seybert on Jan. 21, 1955; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter, Rachel Diane Shick on June 7, 1990; a son-in-law, Edward R. Theuret on March 8, 2009; two brothers, Harry Hamilton and Reuben Hamilton; and four sisters, Ethel Earley, Rachel Bowser, Susan Hamilton and Marcella Edinger. Born June 24, 1921, in Tylersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Norman D. Roddy & Twila Rutherford Roddy. Mrs. Sterner graduated from Oil City High School. She was married June 24, 1940, in Trinity United Methodist Church to George E. Sterner and he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1995. A homemaker, Mrs. Sterner enjoyed reading, playing bingo, watching TV, doing crossword puzzles, going to yard sales and being with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending the sporting events and extracurricular activities of her son and grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Oil City. Mrs. Sterner is survived by two daughters, Twila Jeanne "Kookie" Moon and her significant other, Kenneth E. Moon, both of Oil City, Pam Detar and her husband, Harry, of Oil City; one son, George E. Sterner Jr. and his wife, Cinda, of Franklin; nine grandchildren, Kevin E. Moon and his wife, Brenda, Kurtis A. Moon, Kelly L. Moon, Andrea and her husband, Pastor Carl Leyerle, Adam Detar, Jason Fulmer and his wife, Sadie, Keith "Bundy" Fulmer and his fiancé, Meghan Taylor, Zack Sterner and Angela Sterner; and five great-grandchildren, Amos Moon, Easton Fulmer, and Lois Elisabeth, Asher and Evangeline Leyerle. She is survived by a daughter, Crystal Yates and her husband, Doug, of Brookville; a son-in-law, Robert Koser of Sharon; two grandsons, Devin Koser and Kyle Yates; a great-grandson, William Koser; a brother, Hubert Saxton and his wife, Clara, of Tionesta; and two sisters, Junita Gigliotti and her husband, Glenn, of West Middlesex, Pa., and Elsie Remines of Tazwell, Va.
