    3. The Derrick, March 7, 2009: Bonnie Jo Boguslawski, Ford City Mae Meley Harman, Edinboro, formerly of Lickingville Debbie K. Horn, 189 Belmar Acres, Franklin Patricia Phyllis Kase, 2 W. Second St., Oil City Randall Lee LaCaze, Fryburg Mary Louise Painter, Mill Street, Rimersburg Esther A. Strotman, Shippenville Bonnie Jo Boguslawski, 66, of 2063 Hobson Drive, Ford City, died Thursday March 5, 2009, at Armstrong County Health Center. Born Dec. 27, 1942, in Mahoning, she was the daughter of Raymond Lingler and Mary Jane Buzzard Lingler. She was married May 7, 1966, to George Boguslawski, and he survives. She was a 1960 graduate of Franklin High School and she attended Clarion University. Mrs. Boguslawski retired from PPG, working mostly in Ford City and finishing her career in Creighton. Mrs. Boguslawski enjoyed bingo and going to casinos with family and friends. She enjoyed many bus tours to various places. She also enjoyed traveling, the ocean, fishing and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She liked watching her grandchildren in sports. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Boguslawski is survived by three sons, George Boguslawski Jr. of Washington, D.C., Andrew Scott Boguslawski and his wife, Jennifer, of Morreshill, Ind., and Mark Boguslawski and his wife, Stacia, of Ford City; a sister, Sally Bean and her husband, Charles, of Franklin; and two granddaughters, Anastasia Boguslawski and Abigail Boguslawski. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Mantini Funeral Home, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Church in Cadogan with the Rev. Thomas Trupkovich officiating. Interment will be in Cochran Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Ford City Public Library. Mae Meley Harman, 87, of Edinboro, formerly of Cyclone and Lickingville, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Edinboro Manor after a long-term illness. Born March 20, 1921, in Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ella Harmon. She attended the local public schools and graduated from Farmington High School in 1940. Immediately following World War II, she married Aubrey M. Meley and moved to Cyclone, where Aubrey took a job in the oil fields. While raising a family, Mae was employed as a cafeteria worker in Smethport Area School District and as a Tupperware dealer, both before and after the death of her husband, Aubrey, in January 1969. In February 1979, she married Albert Harman and moved to Lickingville. During her time in Lickingville she was very active in the community and at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Leeper. Following the death of her husband, Albert, in December 1996, Mae remained in Lickingville for a number of years but later moved to Edinboro to be close to her daughter and family. During her time in Edinboro she spent many happy hours sewing and quilting. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mae was preceded in death by her brother, Leland (Bill) Harmon of Pleasantville; and two sisters, Elda Daum of Strobleton and Glenna (Sis) Cooney of North East. Mrs. Harman is survived by a son, Douglas and his wife, Karen, of Bridgeville; a daughter, Donna and her husband, John, of Edinboro; a brother, Arthur (Bud) Harman and his wife, Nina, of Tionesta; a sister-in-law, Eva Harman of Pleasantville; two grandsons, Paul and his wife, Julie, of Edinboro, and Brian and his wife, Allison, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Christine, and her husband, Tony, of Bridgeville; three great-grandchildren, Dennis, Makayla and Ethan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie St., Edinboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Edinboro Methodist Church with the Rev. Randolph Edwards officiating. Interment will be at McKean Memorial Park near Mount Alton. A private ceremony will be held at the gravesite. Horn, 54, of 189 Belmar Acres, Franklin, died at 4:55 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, in her residence, following a long and courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by her family. Born April 14, 1954, in Titusville, she was the daughter of Billy L. and Ethel Andrews Fauzey. She was married May 2, 1984, to Kenneth W. Horn, who survives. Mrs. Horn was a graduate of West Forest High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed history, had a fascination with archeology and enjoyed reading and craft projects. Mrs. Horn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the "road trips" with her husband and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Horn is survived by four daughters, Stephanie A. Bacher of Oil City, Kenda Thomas and her husband, Jason, of Oil City, Rebecca K. Turner of Oil City,and Jayme L. Horn of Franklin; and eight grandchildren, Mikkayla Delaney, Kaylee Horn, Jayden Thomas, Logan Thomas and Evan Turner, all of Oil City, and Zachery Bacher, Christopher Bacher and Ashley Norris, all of Franklin. She also is survived by two sisters, Dianne Grove of Franklin and Donna Miller and her husband, Keith, of East Hickory; an aunt, Roberta A. Andrews of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by a son, Trevor Rodgers. The time for a party to mark the celebration of Debbie's life will be announced later. She was a donor to the Humanity Gifts Registry. Online condolences may be sent to www.huffchapel.com Patricia Phyllis Kase, 83, of 2 West Second St., Oil City, died at 1:07 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at the Oil City Presbyterian Home, where she had been a resident since Monday, March 2, 2009. Born Jan. 2, 1926, in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Beatrice Zappia Vendetti. She attended the Third Ward grade school in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1944. Mrs. Kase was a member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City and was a member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin while she lived in Franklin. She had been employed by the Oil City Salvation Army for 14 years as their cook. She also belonged to the Pulaski Club, Belles Lettres, YWCA and the Golden Agers. Mrs. Kase was married to James H. Kase Sr. in Arlington, Va., on Feb. 13, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. Kase is survived by two sons, Mark Kase and his wife, Rhonda, of Logandale, Nev., and David Kase of Phoenix, Ariz.; one stepson, Jay Kase of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Frances Dlugos of Oil City; one brother, Frank Vendetti Sr. of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one stepson, Mike Kase; and two sisters, Cecilia Spence and Carmalena Carson. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory in Oil City. Condolences may be sent at www.reinselfuneralhome.com Randall Lee LaCaze, 69, of Fryburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Clarion Hospital. Mr. LaCaze is a polio survivor of 53 years. Born Feb. 4, 1940, in Venus, he was the son of Erla Harriett Hoffman. He was married May 20, 1967, to the former Janet Hargenrader, who survives. Mr. LaCaze was a graduate of North Clarion High School. He also graduated from Williamsport Tech where he studied drafting. He was employed as a draftsman at Anchor Hocking for 25 years. He retired in 1986 to spend time with his family. Randy enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren, family and friends. He also enjoyed reading his Bible and listening to bluegrass music, and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Among his other interests, he liked to draw, go for rides in the country and fishing. Mr. LaCaze was a member of the Fryburg Sportsman's Club. In addition to his wife, Mr. LaCaze is survived by three children, Molly Gatesman and her husband, Al, of Lucinda, Holly Earp and her husband, Brent, of Fertigs, and Chad LaCaze and his wife, Sharlene, of Fryburg; and eight grandchildren, Brittany Earp, Halie Earp, Brenna Earp, Leah Gatesman, Sarah Gatesman, Noah Gatesman, Sullivan LaCaze and Sydnie LaCaze. He is also survived by seven siblings, Robert Hoffman and his wife, Sandy, of Florida, Linda Griebel and her husband, Don, of Kansas, Rex LaCaze and his wife, Lyn, of Albion, Carolyn Jagielski of Venus, Shirley Confer of Ohio, Leonard Hoffman and his wife, Verna, of Marble, and Henry Hoffman and his wife, Marie, of Oil City; one sister-in-law, Becky Hoffman of Fryburg; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. LaCaze was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; a brother, William Hoffman; and a sister, Barb Kennedy. Mary Louise Painter, 75, of Mill Street, Rimbersburg, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca after a lingering illness. Strotman, 87, of Shippenville, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Shippenville. Born April 27, 1921, she was the daughter of Scott and Leona Rex Lewis. She was a lifelong resident of the Pine City area. She was married May 13, 1946, to Donald L. Strotman, who preceded her in death May 1, 1993. Mrs. Strotman graduated from Shippenville High School. She owned and operated the Hot Dog Ranch in Shippenville for many years. She was a member of Pine City United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Strotman is survived by three sons, Donald W. Strotman and his wife, Louise, of Shippenville, Ronald S. Strotman and his wife, Kathleen, of Marble, and Michael S. Strotman and his wife, Catherine, of Tionesta; a daughter, Beverly Cowatch and her husband, John, of Transfer; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, John Lewis and his wife, Sara, of Pine City, Lindy Lewis of Kittaning and Scott Lewis and his wife, Jane, of Pine City and Florida; and one sister, Mary Rex and her husband, Ray, of Shippenville. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Strotman was preceded in death by a brother, Otis Lewis; and an infant son. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. John Hickman, pastor of Fertigs United Methodist Charge, presiding. Burial will be Monday in Perry Chapel Cemetery in Shippenville. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
