By the way, according to documentation they spelled the name as Wilhelm Bast and Anna Susanna Schaeffer Bast but it became Best soon after arrival..I like the various spelling of Schaeffer, Best, Sherry and so many others..I have broken and fractured a foot so I have little time to get on but give me a few and I will gather some info to send you. My friend may send you some. She has extensive research on the Bests in Clarion...Wilhelm is the start of the family and when they went to clarion my Best came up from Westmoreland than went back and the two brothers settled there and he went to Jefferson County..I have some great stories and also have a photo of the stone church where you will find many family members buried there.
