Marsh, formerly of 12 Edgewood Drive, Oil City William Allen Morck Jr., Goodview, Va., formerly of Oil City William Michael "Bill" Smith, New Bethlehem Leland Wetzel, Shippenville, formerly of Wentlings Corners Alfred Francis Wood, South Fourth Avenue, Clarion Patricia Ann Bowser, 58, of Catalpa Road, Chicora, formerly of Dutch Hill and Sligo, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at her home after being ill since November. The Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Petrolia is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Friday in The Derrick. Dora E. Brazel, 92, of 1407 Franklin Road, Jackson Center, died at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City. Arrangements are being handled by the Scott A. Black Funeral Home in Stoneboro. A complete obituary will be published Friday in The News-Herald. Thomas L. Marsh, 86, formerly of 12 Edgewood Dr., Oil City, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, after an extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born Dec. 27, 1922, in Betula, he was the son of the late Cecil L. Marsh and Lillian A. Gallup Marsh. He was married Sept. 14, 1946, in the rectory at St. Bernard Parish, to the former Jeanne Louise Steckmeyer, who preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2007. Mr. Marsh had served as an aviation cadet in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Marsh had lived in Warren for 20 years before relocating to Oil City with Penelec. Tom retired from Penelec as a foreman in the electrical equipment department. He had been an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and played bridge with his wife in several couples card groups. Mr. Marsh was of the Protestant faith. He had been the president of Wanango Country Club, and a member of the "Hundred Club." Mr. Marsh is survived by a sister, Anna Nelson of Milton, Del. and by numerous nieces and nephews, including David Marsh and his wife, Kristine, who helped the Marshes in their transition from Oil City to the Bradford Ecumenical Home. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret McKee; and three brothers, Allen Marsh, Melvin Marsh and Wayne Marsh. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Monsignor John W. Swoger presiding. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Warren. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be sent at www.reinselfuneralhome.com William Allen Morck Jr., 69, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, at his home in Goodview, Va. Born Oct. 19, 1939, in Oil City, he was the son of the late William and Kathryn Morck. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force, was a service manager at the former Blue Ridge Buick in Roanoke, Va., and retired from Bird Medical Products in Palm Springs, Calif. Upon retiring, he pursued his love of dogs and opened Sugarfoot Kennels in Goodview. Mr. Morck cherished his family and enjoyed his farm and the ocean. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Katherine Musselman Morck. He also is survived by a daughter, Stacy Morck Graves and her husband, Charley; three sons, Garth Morck and his wife, Laura, Robert Morck and his wife, Kelly, and William A. Morck III; one sister, Gretchen Morck Aldridge and her husband, Allen, of Salter Path, N.C.; a stepbrother, Chuck Goodwin and his wife, Diane, of Hawaii; and four grandchildren, Chelsea and Taylor Graves and Wesley and Cameron Morck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, "Punky" Morck Ward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delta Society for therapy dogs at 875 124th Ave. NE, Bellevue, Wash., 98005. William Michael "Bill" Smith, 56, of New Bethlehem, died early Wednesday morning, April 8, 2009, at his residence following a sudden illness. Born Sept. 19, 1952, in Brookville, he was a son of the late William C. and Dorothy Wilson Smith. He married Lana J. Davis on May 24, 1986. She survives. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Manufacturing in Clarion, and he was a member of the New Bethlehem Lions Club, the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose, and he formerly was active n the local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops. Mr. Smith was known as a volunteer for anything that needed done or for lending a hand to anyone who was in need of help. He and his wife are the parents of five children: Lee Ann Smith, Holly Smith, Andrew Smith, Patty Smith and Josh Smith all living at home. Also surviving are five sisters, Joyce Silagyi and her husband, Bruce, Chris Adams and her husband, Jim, Barb Crissman and her husband, Stan, Linda Matey and her husband, Wayne, Sherry Billman and Michelle McCanna; three brothers, John Smith and his wife, Connie, Jeff Billman and his wife, Dottie, and Charles Billman and his wife, Brenda. his stepmother, Jeanie Smith of Rimersburg, and his mother-in-law, Dona Belle Davis of Oak Ridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Lee Smith; his paternal grandparents, Spurge and Lulu Smith; and his maternal grandparents, Hank and Agnes Wilson. Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem. A private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. The Rev. Leland Wetzel, 93, of Shippenville, formerly of Wentlings Corners, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at his residence. The William N. Rupert Mortuary Inc. of Knox is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Friday in The Derrick. Alfred Francis Wood, 89, of South Fourth Avenue, Clarion, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Clarion Hospital. Born March 2, 1920, in Barger Hollow, Clarion County, he was the son of the late William Earl Wood and Freda Kriebel Wood. He was married Nov. 17, 1951, to the former Betty Lou Beers, who survives. Mr. Wood worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mailman for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He served in the Army as a sergeant in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed his family and especially his grand boys. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wood is survived by a son, Patrick William Wood of Providence, R.I.; a daughter, Karen "Katie" Shingledecker and her husband, Berle, of Clarion; and three grandchildren, Andrew Francis Shingledecker, John Michael Shingledecker and William Earl Wood. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
