    3. The Derrick, February 27, 2009: Raymond Robert Beach, Maple Lane Drive, Cooperstown Dorothy L. Kaster, Titusville Frances Faye Vrhovac, South Second Avenue, Clarion Walter Scott Zellefrow, French Avenue, Sharon Dixie L. Zuck memorial set Raymond Robert Beach, 67, of Maple Lane Drive, Cooperstown, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born Oct. 18, 1941, in Franklin, he was the son of Walter and Jane Hexamer Beach. He was married Aug. 3, 1962, to Jane Houser in Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, and she survives. Mr. Beach retired from Joy Manufacturing Co., where he was employed for 43 years as a final assemblyman. He previously served his community as mayor of the borough, was a member of Valley Grove School Board and was an active volunteer at Cooperstown Public Library. He was also a member of Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church. Mr. Beach enjoyed collecting coins and refinishing antique furniture. In the summer, he enjoyed spending time on his deck. In addition to his wife, Mr. Beach is survived by a son, Dirk S. Beach of West Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Gretchen R. Beach of Clarksburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Shirley Ford of Cranberry, Nancy Hook of Franklin and Mary Lou Beach of Meadville; three brothers, James Beach, Kenneth Beach and Michael Beach, all of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Logan R. Beach of Cooperstown, Bredin N. and Alex F. Beach of Rockland and Mariana R. Delgado of Clarksburg, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Walter and Charles Beach. A celebration of Mr. Beach's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rachel Johns and the Rev. Marc de Jeu presiding. Interment will take place in Cooperstown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Cooperstown Public Library. Arrangements are being handled by the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. of Franklin. Kaster, 89, of Titusville, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at her granddaughter's residence in Cherrytree Township. Born Oct. 12, 1919, in Portsmouth, Va., she was a daughter of the late Cleveland and Mabel Heffington Brinkley. She was married Feb. 21, 1942, to Fred A. Kaster Sr. in Virginia, and he preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2004. Mrs. Kaster graduated from Chuckatuck High School in Chuckatuck, Va. She was employed as a cook in the cafeteria of Titusville Area School District for 12 years until her retirement in 1981. She also had been employed at the former Swanson's Department Store in Titusville. She was a member of St. Walburga Church in Titusville. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, cooking, baking, gardening, flowers and feeding her hummingbirds. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Mrs. Kaster is survived by three sons, Fred A. Kaster Jr. and his companion, Patricia, of Denver, Colo., and Robert L. Kaster and his companion, Theresa, and Theodore Kaster and his wife, Nora, all of Titusville; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cleveland, Leigar and Rudolf Brinkley; a sister, Elsie Hayes; a daughter-in-law, Alice Kaster; and a grandchild. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville. A vigil service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Walburga Church with the Rev. D.G. Davis III, pastor of the Titusville Catholic community, as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Catharine Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to St. Walburga Church, 513 W. Frances Faye Vrhovac, 81, of South Second Avenue, Clarion, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Clarion Hospital. Born Oct. 22, 1927, in Nutter Fort, W.Va., she was the daughter of Harry Grogan and Josa Faye Cottrill. Mrs. Vrhovac was married to Andrew Vrhovac, who preceded her in death in 1985. She worked as a dental assistant and was a life member of Dundalk American Legion in Dundalk, Md. Mrs. Vrhovac was a former resident of Dundalk, Md., before moving to Clarion 10 years ago. She is survived by two sons, Jack Vrhovac and his wife, JoAnne, of Chesapeake, Va., and Ted Vrhovac and his wife, Nancy, of Mayport; three grandchildren, Paul, Russell and Mathew; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Grace and Chloe. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Vrhovac was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Don Vrhovac; four brothers and three sisters. Entombment will take place at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens in Baltimore, Md. The Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St, Clarion, is in charge of arrangements. Walter Scott Zellefrow, 67, of French Avenue, Sharon, passed away at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Charlotte Zellefrow, of Hillis Road, Rimersburg, after a lingering illness. Born April 5, 1941, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late Thomas Walter Ralph Zellefrow and Goldie Ida Mae Redick Zellefrow. Mr. Zellefrow attended school in Carwick, near Rimersburg, and Sharon High School. He served with the U. S. Army from 1960 until 1961. He was employed at Sharon Steel Co. as a bricklayer from 1970 until his health failed several years ago. He was of the Protestant faith. He is survived by a brother, Keith E. Zellefrow and wife, Charlotte, of Rimersburg; four sisters, Lorena E. Fortner and husband, Archie, of Emlenton, Annie Jeanine Zellefrow of Rimersburg, Catherine E. "Cathy" Summerville of Rimersburg, and Deborah M. Zellefrow of Rimersburg. Survivors also include an aunt, Mrs. Minnie Hegert of Waterloo, N.Y.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1988; his mother in 1992; an infant sister, Goldie Zellefrow; an infant brother, Walter Zellefrow; another brother, Harry Thomas "Bubby" Zellefrow in 2004; and two nephews, Keith and Walter Zellefrow. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion Forrest VNA Hospice chaplain, officiating. Zuck memorial set A memorial service for Dixie L. Zuck, who died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Good Shepard United Methodist Church in Leeper. Mrs. Zuck, who lived in Tionesta, died at Titusville Area Hospital. A luncheon will be provided following the service.
