The Derrick, February 6, 2009: Carl Alexander Krauss, 63, of Huckleberry Ridge Road, Sligo, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at his home. Born Dec. 20, 1945, in the original Krauss homestead in Piney Township, Clarion County, he was the youngest of four children born to Jacob Miles Krauss and Dorothy Porter Krauss. He was married Feb. 4, 1967, to his soulmate, Patricia Ann Coull Krauss, who survives. He was a graduate of Union High School in Rimersburg. Mr. Krauss was employed by Joy Mining Machinery in Franklin as a quality supervisor. He was a member of Edenburg Masonic Lodge 630 and Parker City & Allegheny Valley Masonic Lodge 521. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and a wonderful friend to all. Mr. Krauss enjoyed sprint car racing, hunting, attending his grandchildren's extracurricular activities, traveling with his wife and friends and companionship of his cat, Buster. In addition to his wife, Mr. Krauss is survived by one son, Robert Elwood Krauss and his wife, Janet, of Knox; one daughter, Carla Ann Priester and her husband, Scott, of Rimersburg; and five grandchildren, Corey Priester, Robert E. Krauss II, Kirstie Priester, Stephen Krauss and Cody McCullough. Also surviving are two sisters, Marie Eshbaugh and her husband, Art, of Shippenville, and Shirley Neiswonger and her husband, Elwood, of Fairmount City; one brother, Leonard Krauss and his wife, Shirley, of Thomasville, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Diane Niccolai of New Bethlehem and Crystal Mills and her husband, Jaoquin, of Canton, Maine; one brother-in-law, Woody Neiswonger and his wife, Marty, of Hawthorn; many loving nieces and nephews and many very special and loving friends. Mr. Krauss was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Billy; an infant daughter, Angie; mother-in-law, Dorothy Neiswonger; and father-in-law, Jack Coull. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
