Brundage, 537 Belmar Road, Franklin Robert John Cooke, 1452 Westview Drive, Franklin Helen Marie Gerwick, Emlenton Carl Alexander Krauss, Huckleberry Ridge Road, Sligo Helen Audine Fulton Latshaw, Morehead City, N.C., formerly of Emlenton Linda Lee Reymore, 206 11th St., Franklin Edwin "Buddy" Silverberg, Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Oil City Charles E. Vanderhoff, Aurora, Colo., formerly of the Strattanville area William "Bill" R. Brundage, 82, of 537 Belmar Road, Franklin, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, in his home after a 20-year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born March 22, 1926, in Franklin, he was the son of Charles and Edna Scott Brundage. Mr. Brundage was a World War II veteran, and he served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-46. He received the China Service Navy Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was employed at Joy Technologies as an inspector. He was a member of the Franklin Assembly of God, and he enjoyed softball, bowling, hunting and mowing with his John Deere tractor. Mr. Brundage was a sports enthusiast and was especially interested in Steelers football. He sang with the Gospel Quartets in area churches and at special events for many years. Mr. Brundage married Jeannette Whitman on June 7, 1947, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before she preceded him in death Sept. 19, 1997. He is survived by three children, David "Mike" Brundage and his wife, Robin, of Franklin, Cathy Pipinich of Seattle, Wash., and Barbi Brundage of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren, Tracy St. John and her husband, Mark, of Bozeman, Mon., Sandy Pipinich of Seattle, Heather Romanelli and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh, Marci Foreman and her husband, Bill, of Virginia Beach, Ashley Brundage of Savannah, Ga., and Michael Amon Jr. of Wilmington, N.C.; and six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Joe and Nora St. John of Bozeman, Mon., Jacob Amon of Virginia Beach, and Ashley and Billy Foreman Jr. of Virginia Beach. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Brundage was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Brundage. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. in Franklin. Robert John Cooke, 44, of 1542 Westview Drive, Franklin, died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 4, 2009, at UPMC Northwest, Seneca following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Oct. 19, 1964, in Grove City, he was a son of the late Robert H. Cooke and William and Bonnie Thompson Poole. He was a 1982 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1986 graduate of Clarion University with an accounting degree. He was married June 25, 1994, to the former Deanna L. Dawley, who survives. Mr. Cooke was previously employed at the Regional Center for Workforce Excellence. He was the human services fiscal officer for Venango County at the time of his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, sports and camping. He loved to socialize with family and friends and make people laugh. He particularly enjoyed coaching and spending time with children, especially his own. Mr. Cooke was a member of the Franklin Elks Lodge, Franklin Eagles and Franklin VFW. In addition to his wife, Mr. Cooke is survived by two children, Tanner James Cooke and Haley Nicole Cooke, both of Franklin; his parents, William and Bonnie Poole of Polk; a brother Curtis Cooke and his wife, Ann, of Northumberland; and a sister, Marta Milbert and her husband, Mike, of Butler. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Marilyn Dawley Bodimer of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Pamela Patterson of Toledo, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Paul Dawley and his wife, Kristin, of Bethel Park; and two nieces, Jordyn and Gabrielle Dawley of Bethel Park. In addition to is father,Mr. Cooke was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maxine and Fred Thompson and Lela and Theodore Poole; father-in-law, Tedd B. Bodimer; and a cousin, Wayne Thompson. Born June 11, 1910, in Armstrong County, she was the daughter of N. Cal and Blanche Beers Hamilton. Mrs. Gerwick was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Gerwick Sr., who died Oct. 20, 1998. The Gerwicks had been married for 71 years. Mrs. Gerwick was a long time active member of St. John Reformed Church in Emlenton and she later attended Salem Reformed United Church of Christ. She enjoyed baking cookies and making quilts. Mrs. Gerwick is survived by a son, Robert Gerwick Jr. and his wife, Sarah "Sally," of Franklin; a daughter with whom she made her home, Betty Jean Taylor, of Emlenton; four grandchildren, Terry Taylor and his wife, Sharon, of Emlenton, Christine Collers and her husband, Mike, of Franklin, Jennifer Huff and her husband, Dale, of Franklin, Beth King and her husband, Jay, of Wake Forest, N.C. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren, William Taylor of Mercer, Justin Collers, of Dormont, Staff Sgt. Matthew Collers, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Joshua and Lindsay Huff of Franklin, and Emily and Daniel King of Wake Forest, N.C. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Wood, of Grove City; a brother, Walter Hamilton of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister in-law, Norie Young, of Grove City; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carl Alexander Krauss, 63, of Huckleberry Ridge Road, Sligo, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at his home of natural causes. Mr. Krauss was born Dec. 20, 1945, in Piney Township, Clarion County. Helen Audine Fulton Latshaw, 90, of Morehead City, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Harborview Health Care Center in North Carolina. Born March 25, 1918, in Dora, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Anna Fulton. She was married Feb. 14, 1953, to Lewis "Red" Latshaw. Mrs. Latshaw and her husband lived in Emlenton, and were members of the Emlenton Methodist Church. In 1979, the couple moved to North Carolina where they became members of the Broad Creek United Methodist Church, Newport. Mrs. Latshaw is survived by a sister, Olive Clark of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Nora Fulton of Greenville; two nephews, Butch Fulton and his wife, Ruth, of Greenville and Ron Clark and his wife, Shirley of Deltona, Fla.; two cousins, Tracy Francis and her husband, Jay, of Carlsbad, N.M. and Michelle Klink of New Castle, Colo.; and a dear friend and cousin-in-law, Maggie Klink of New Castle, Colo. Born in Clarion, Mr. Vanderhoff was the son of the late Raymond J. Eisenman, and step-mother Doris Eisenman, of Strattanville. He is a graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School and a veteran of the armed services. Known as a great lover of all music, he also loved the competition of reaching the top of the leader board in sales for the Bluelinx Corp., a company he so enjoyed working for. One of his favorite things to do was shop for his grandkids. Mr. Vanderhoff is survived by his wife, Jane; three step-children, Jonathan Wenner of Oil City, Mindy Etter of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Jeremy Wenner of Strattanville; eight beautiful grandchildren; his sister, Charlotte Denzer of Midland, Texas; his nephew, Eric; and two nieces, Sheila and Terri. Mr. Vanderhoff was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Bowser; his paternal grandmother, Mildred Eisenman; and his mother, Anna M. Vanderhoff.
