    3. The Derrick, December 23, 2008: Ronald C. Bole, 913 Polk Cut-off, Polk Giles B. "Bim" Cook Jr., Charlottesville, Va. Lawrence Alan Dylag Sr., Crown Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Crawford Green, Stuart, Fla., formerly of Franklin Kaye R. Snyder, formerly of Clarion Ronald C. Bole, 67, of 913 Polk Cut-off, Polk, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born June 24, 1941, in Sharon, he was the son of Allen R. Bole and Eleanor B. Seeley. He was a 1960 graduate of Sharon Senior High School, a 1966 graduate of Youngstown University (now Youngstown State College), a 1962 graduate of Immanuel College and a 1969 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Mr. Bole was married Dec. 7, 1968, to the former Donna Glunt, who survives. Mr. Bole was employed as a pastoral chaplain for the Venango County Visiting Nurses Association. He was a funeral director at Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, and he was a pastor for Franklin Assembly of God Church and churches in Gettysburg, Jennette and Bloomburg. Mr. Bole served as deputy county coroner; worked for Franklin Livery Service, served as supervisor for Sandycreek Township Board of Supervisors and served on the board of directors for Community Ambulance for over 20 years. He also served on the VisionQuest advisory board, was involved with the VisionQuest Home Care Program and was a foster parent for VisionQuest to Anthony Davis. Mr. Bole was past president twice for the Franklin Lions Club, was active in Franklin Little League Program and the Franklin Ministerial Program, and he wasa member of the American Red Cross board, a director of Mercer County YFC and a member of the Jeanette and Hermitage VFD. Mr. Bole enjoyed hunting and woodworking. He loved his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bole is survived by two children, Rev. Allen R. Bole and his wife, Jennifer, of Temperance, Mich., and David M. Bole and his wife, Heather, of Lucerne Mines. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Reese M. Bole of Lucerne Mines, Jacob Bole of Temperance, Mich., Noah B. Bole of Lucerne Mines, and Tyler Bold of Temperance, Mich.; a a brother, Gordon A. Bole of Akron, Ohio; and a foster son, Anthony Davis of Elizabeth, N.J. Mr. Bole was preceded in death by his father, Allen R. Bole. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Myers of the New Castle Assembly of God Church officiating. He will be assisted by Ron Whited of the Edinboro Assembly of God Church and Walter Witherup of the Seneca Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in Old Sandy Cemetery. Memorials may be may to the VNA Foundation. Arrangements are being handled by the Robert W. "Bim" Cook Jr., a vetern of World War II and a retired banker, passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, in Charlottesville, Va. Born May 2, 1920 in Front Royal, Va., he was the elder son of the late Olive S. Cook and Giles B. Cook, M.D. During World War II Mr. Cook served with the United States Army Air Corps in England. During the Korean Conflict he was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, La.,and he retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve with the rank of lieuteant colonel. Mr. Cook earned his LLB from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1950 and thereafter spent many years in the banking industry with Crawford County Trust Co. in Meadville and Northwest Pennsylvania Bank and Trust Co. in Oil City, where he served as senior vice president - business development at the time of his retirement in 1982. Following retirement, he moved to Charlottesville, Va. where he worked as a consultant for the Trust Department of Jefferson National Bank. Throughout his life, Mr. Cook was actively involved with community and charitable organizations including Oil City Area School Boardthe , Housing Authority of Oil City, Meadville City Hospital, Rotary Club, United Way and the Boy Scouts of America. He was past president of the Trust Division of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Mr. Cook was a supporter of education, having taught ROTC at Allegheny College and having served on the faculty of both the Virginia and Pennsylvania Bankers Association Trust Schools. In 1964 he was thedDirector of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Trust School at Bucknell University. A lifelong Episcopalian, Mr. Cook served as a Vestry member and senior warden of Christ Church, Meadville, Christ Church, Oil City, and St. Paul's Ivy where he served as parish trustee. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marquerite Mountcastle Cook; three daughters, Frances Cook Johnston and her husband, Henry, of Pittsburgh, Marguerite Cook Moen and her husband, Stuart, of Roanoke, Va., and Elizabeth Ann Cook of Roanoke, Va.; five grandchildren, Richard and Emily Johnston and Jacob, Sarah and Stuart Moen; and a brother, C. Barrie Cook and his wife, Paula, of Charleston, S.C. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Ivy, Va. Lawrence Alan Dylag Sr., 74, of Crown, formerly of Cleveland, died suddenly Sunday night, Dec. 21, 2008, in Clarion Hospital. Born Nov. 7, 1934 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Michael and Stephanie Czechowicz Dylag. Mr. Dylag owned and operated Cuyahoga Dairy. He then operated Cheryl's Beverage from 1972 until 1992. He was married June 30, 1956, to the former Loretta Sekowski, who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Lawrence Alan Dylag, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Hinckley, Ohio and Alan Gerard Dylag and his wife, Jennifer, of Cleveland, Ohio. Also surviving are two sisters, Loretta Lobaza and her husband, Stanley, of Broadview, Ohio, and Carol Molek of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Monsignor Michael Dylag of Michigan; and two grandsons, Nolan and Shane Dylag. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dylag was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Cheryl. Private family services will be held at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Crawford Green, 90, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in Stuart, Fla. Born June 13, 1918, in Franklin, she was the daughter of William John Crawford and Anna Ileen Foster. Mrs. Green was employed as a secretary at the True Temper Corp. plant in Saybrook, Ohio, the Ashtabula (Ohio) County T.B. and Lung Association and with pediatrician Dr. Eberle. She lived in Ashtabula until she and her husband retired in 1978. They moved to Leisure Village in Stuart, where she served as secretary of the board of directors. Mrs. Green was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashtabula and later the First United Methodist Church of Stuart, where she served on the communion committee. She was a past worthy matron and life member of the Lake Erie Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, in Ashtabula. Mrs. Green was also a member of Elks Lodge 1870 in Stuart where she served as chaplain, lecturing knight and loyal knight. She was also an officer of the BPOE Anna Miller Circle. Mrs. Green is survived by three children, William Crawford and his wife, Rowena, of Lexington, Ky., Dennis Essington Green and his wife, Nancy, of Stuart, and Judith Ann Workinger and her husband, Elden, of Clinton, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, Essington Franklin Green, in 1987 and a brother, William Dennis Crawford, in 1940. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Donations can be made in her name to Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, Fla., 34997 Arrangements are being handled by Aycock Funeral Home, Stuart, Fla. Kaye R. Snyder, formerly of Clarion, died Monday, Dec. 22, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh. The Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St, Clarion is in charge of arrangements.
