Ripple, 400 Broadwood Towers, New Bethlehem Charles Henry Schill, Higginsville, N.Y., Lucinda native LeNoir Jane Heckathorn LeNoir Jane Heckathorn, 81, of 162 Criswell Road, Franklin, died at 10:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in The Caring Place. Born June 13, 1923, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Sara Jane Houser Ream. She was a 1941 graduate of Franklin High School. Mrs. Heckathorn was the head baker for more than 20 years in the Franklin Area School District. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Mrs. Heckathorn was a volunteer for the Visiting Nurses Association. She was married June 24, 1942, to Harvey Heckathorn, who died March 24, 1974. Surviving are a son, Robert Leroy Heckathorn of Franklin; a foster son, Earl Glenn of Mercer; one grandchild, Corissa Heckathorn of Seattle, Wash.; one great-grandchild, Kasie Heckathorn; and three foster grandchildren, Joshua Glenn, Jacob Glenn and Jessie Glenn, all of South Carolina. She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Vivian) Tarr and Mrs. Clarence (Shirley) Haylett, both of Franklin. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Heckathorn was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Ray Ream. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Franklin Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Grant Heckman, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Robert Irving 'Bob' Hunter Robert Irving "Bob" Hunter, 83, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Franklin, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, in Lake Eustis Care Center, Eustis, Fla. Mr. Hunter moved to Leesburg in 1987 from Franklin. He was born in Cobleskill, N.Y., the son of Charles B. and Eliza Grovener Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was an export manager for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co., Franklin, retiring after 33 years of service. Mr. Hunter was married to June Krantz Hunter, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James Hunter of Hawthorne, N.Y., and Kenneth Hunter of Charlton, Mass.; a daughter, Gale Carll of Franklin; and six grandchildren. 'Jun' Licht Maurice J. "Jun" Licht, 79, of 103 Walnut St., Tionesta, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, in Titusville Area Hospital. Born Jan. 6, 1925, in Lucinda, he was the son of Maurice I. and Catherine Hahn Licht. Mr. Licht was employed for many years as a truck driver for A.C. Benninger Coal Co. and A.P. Weaver & Sons, both of Newmansville. He was well-known far and wide as "Sleepy Crate" in the CB community and maintained a home-base station at his residence. Mr. Licht was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church in Tidioute and later belonged to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tionesta where he was head usher for many years. He was a charter member in 1953 of the Tionesta Flying Club. Mr. Licht was an avid card player through the years and enjoyed bingo. He was married in St. Michael Church, Fryburg, Nov. 28, 1946, to the former Jeannette Host, who died May 14, 1998. Surviving are a son and his wife, Larry J. and Kathryn Licht of Titusville; three grandchildren, Jinnifir Thorton and husband, Michael, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Shawn Jordan and husband, Scott, of Port Haywood, Va., and Nathaniel Felix Licht of Titusville; and two great-grandchildren, Tayler and Dalles Jordan of Port Haywood, Va. He also is survived by three brothers, Cletus Leicht of Strobleton, Clyde Licht and wife, Carole, of Venus and Charles "Dick" Licht and wife, Chelsea, of Ahrensville; three sisters, Rose Swonger and husband, Floyd, of Pine City, Helen Licht of Strobleton and Gloria Eisenman and husband, James, of Strobleton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Licht was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Licht; and three sisters, Doris Mock, Grace Lenhart and Mary Catherine "Kay" Licht. According to Mr. Licht's wishes, immediate cremation took place. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Tionesta. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. Thomas Aleksa, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery in Frills Corners. "Gene" Lyons, 81, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in Fort Walton Beach. Born Sept. 15, 1923, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Leslie Lloyd Lyons. After graduation from high school, Mr. Lyons entered the Army Air Corps Cadet Program in December 1942, flying missions as a navigator bombardier with the Eighth Air Force. After the war, Mr. Lyons completed pilot training and flew for the United States Air Force. While stationed in Japan, the Korean War broke out and he flew 50 missions in the B.26. During the Bay of Pigs, Mr. Lyons was stationed in Guatemala to train pilots and was made an honorary member of the Guatemalan Air Force. During his career Mr. Lyons graduated from Air Command and Staff College and Edward Air Force Base Flight Test School among others. He received numerous decorations and commendations. After serving 20 years in the Air Force, he retired with the rank of major. Mr. Lyons then flew for Air America throughout South East Asia. When he returned to the United States, he attended Florida State University where he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He then went to work for the Florida Department of Commerce. After his second retirement, Mr. Lyons returned to Shalimar, Fla., where he had a home since 1949 and began substitute teaching at Meigs Junior High School in Shalimar. He was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Mary Eck Lyons of Shalimar, Fla.; a son, Douglas Lyons and wife, Marsha, and three granddaughters, Blair, Erin and Shannon, all of whom reside in Tallahassee, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Eglin West Gate Chapel of Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., with Chaplains Glenn Bright and Mark Roberts, officiating with military honors. Ripple, 78, of 400 Broadwood Towers, New Bethlehem, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at her residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born July 1, 1926, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of Homer G. and Margaret E. Heitzenrater Dunmire. She also had a stepmother, Veda McCracken. Mrs. Ripple was retired from Rolo in Punxsutawney and Sylvania in Brookville. She was a member of the Nevin Memorial United Church of Christ in Frogtown and served for a number of years on the consistory of Trinity United Church of Christ in Alcola as a trustee and deacon. Mrs. Ripple also was a member of the American Legion Unit No. 354 in New Bethlehem. She volunteered at the Thrift Shop in New Bethlehem from its inception in 1950 until cancer prevented her to work. Mrs. Ripple was married March 31, 1949, to Albert L. Ripple, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, William G. Ripple and wife, Joann, of Kentwood, Mich., Albert L. Ripple Jr. of Climax, Charles E. Ripple of Widnoon and John M. Ripple and wife, Paula, of Oak Ridge; and seven grandchildren, Bill, Lydia, Bryan, Matthew, Shena and Seth Ripple and Joshua Walker. She also is survived by a sister, Helen R. Berger of Punxsutawney; a brother, Phillip H. Dunmire of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ripple was preceded in death by a brother, Laurence "Sparky" Dunmire; a sister, Wanda Williams; a stepbrother, Leroy P. Neal; and a stepsister, Corissa McCracken. Charles Henry Schill Charles Henry Schill, 73, of 6637 Higginsville Road, Higginsville, N.Y., a Lucinda native, died late Friday evening, Oct. 29, 2004, in Stonehedge Nursing Home, Rome, N.Y., where he had resided for the past year. Born Nov. 30, 1930, in Lucinda, he was the son of Henry and Helen Swartzfager Schill. He was a graduate of Lucinda High School and Clarion College where he was an outstanding football player and was the recipient of many awards. Mr. Schill was married in Springville, N.Y., Aug. 20, 1955, to the former Mary Jane Anger, who survives. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to the Oneida, N.Y., area. Mr. Schill was employed as plant supervisor with the former Oneida Royal Heater Corp. in Oneida, N.Y., and Utica Boiler of Oneida in Utica, N.Y. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved gardening. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Pamela Guy of Higginsville, N.Y.; a son-in-law, William Guy of Oneida, N.Y.; and a granddaughter, Marla Guy of Higginsville. Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Monday in the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front St, Vernon, N.Y.
