Wineman, Clarington Doreen Emily Winifred Bish Doreen Emily Winifred Bish, 79, of Climax died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at her residence, following an illness. Born June 16, 1925 in Portland, England, she was a daughter of the late Frederick G. and Emily Fitzgerald Hibell. Mrs. Bish was employed by Sylvania and most recently at H.B. DeViney, until becoming disabled. On April 24, 1944 she married Howard Merle Bish, who survives. Mrs. Bish is also survived by two sons, Merl Bish of Climax and Gene Bish of Clarion; two grandsons, Richard Merl Bish of Climax and Dane Bish of Houston, Texas, and two brothers, Brian Hibell and his wife, Kay, of Hawthorn and Frederick Hibell of Portland, England. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pauline Weston, and a brother, Eric Hibell. Private funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem with the Rev. Ben Shindledecker officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Distant, Armstrong County. Doris Marie Dillon Doris Marie Dillon, 80, formerly of RD 2 Titusville, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at Beverly Healthcare in Titusville. She had been a resident there since July 2, 2001. Mrs. Dillon was born on March 1, 1924 in Warren to the late William and Ruth Sundell Ristau. She attended Chandlers Valley area school. Mrs. Dillon loved fishing and flower gardening. She married Carl B. Dillon on August 3, 1942 in Jamestown, N.Y. He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1998. Mrs. Dillon is survived by two daughters, Susan Smathers of Oil City and Judy Granda of Conneautville; a son, Lawrence Carl Dillon and his wife, Sharon, of Corona, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Steve Dillon and wife, Amy, of Anaheim Hills, Calif., Lisa Foust and husband, Darrin, of Lake Forest, Calif., Chris Kerr and his wife, Mary Lynn, of Conneaut Lake, Shaun C. Kerr of Conneautville, Sherry Gelts of Oil City, Michelle Smith and fiancé, Philip Rankin, of Franklin and Donald L. Smathers, Jr. and wife, Barb, of Oil City; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandson, and a brother, Gordon Ristau and his wife, Geraldine, of Warren. (Holtz) Farrell, 83, of Roxborough, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale. Mrs. Farrell served as an Army nurse during World War II. She was a former registered nurse at the medical departments at the Evening Bulletin newspaper for 20 years and SPS for seven years. She was married to Charles W. Farrell, Sr., who preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Harris and her husband, John, of Roxborough and Beth Schild and her husband, Don, of Cow Path Road, Telford and three grandchildren, David Botson, Christy Przybylowski and Patrick Schild. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Farrell was preceded in death by a son, Charles W. Mary Ann Kellner Mary Ann Kellner, 80, of Seneca died at 12:55 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 in UPMC Northwest Hospital, Cranberry. She had been battling health problems since the spring of this year. Born Nov. 20, 1923 in Rockland, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Katherine Finlan Welsby. As a child she helped on her parents' farm, where she raised produce that they sold in the Oil City area from a horse and wagon. She raised a champion cow that won first place in the Rockland Fair. Mrs. Kellner was valedictorian at Rockland High School in 1942. She graduated from business school in Dallas, Texas. During World War II, she ran a drill press at CPT, making parts for aircraft engines. She later worked as a switchboard operator for Veaches Furniture Store and then as a secretary in the shipping office of the National Transit. She met her future husband while waiting at a bus stop on their way to work there. She was a homemaker, while raising her children, and also worked at the family business, Kellner Forest Lawn & Garden Center from 1975 to 2004. There she enjoyed helping all the customers, working with the flowers and plants and going on merchandise buying trips. She grew up attending Rockland United Methodist Church and, after her marriage, became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oil City. Mrs. Kellner enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was married July 14, 1951 in the First Presbyterian Church in Oil City to Fred Kellner, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Donald Kellner and his wife, Sandy, of Oil City and David Kellner and his wife, Betsy, of Seneca, and two grandchildren, David Kellner, Jr. and Jillian Kellner, both of Seneca. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Welby; a sister, Katherine Exley, and two half brothers, Gerald Welsby and Ronald Welsby. Means, 82, of 1597 Pittsburgh Road, Franklin, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004 at The Caring Place. Born Sept. 18, 1922 in New Castle, she was the daughter of James and Stella Maxwell Gibson. Mrs. Means was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, serving in France in World War II. She retired as director of nurses at Grandview Nursing Home. She also worked as a floor nurse at the hospital and in the operating room. She worked for doctors, George Smith and Kamal Aoun. She later did blood pressure work at the Medicine Shoppe and worked as a private duty nurse for Chess Lamberton. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Franklin. She was also a member of the Franklin Nurses' Club and the Franklin VFW. She enjoyed bingo, bowling and playing cards and was a member of many bridge clubs. Mrs. Means was married Aug. 24, 1946 to Glenn W. Means, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, David M. Means and his wife, Darlene, of Saegertown, Glenn Means, Jr. of Bullion and P. Scott Means and his wife, Jennifer, of Gilbert, Ariz.; three grandsons, Michael Hanna of Polk, Matthew E. Means and Nathan G. Means, both of Gilbert, Ariz.; two brothers, Donald Gibson and his wife, Sally, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Russ Gibson and his wife, Roberta, of New Castle; three sisters, Doris Volbers and her husband, Bill, of Bethel Park, Ruth Olson and her husband, Robert, of Franklin, and a sister-in-law, Janet Gibson of Jamestown, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Gibson, who was killed in World War II and Paul Gibson, and a sister, Emma Gibson. Born Oct. 7, 1937 in Charleston, W. Va., he was the son of the late Thomas William and Alda Blanche Cure Over. Mr. Over was employed as a laborer at C & K Coal Co. He was a member of the Distant Baptist Church. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. On June 22, 1957, he was married to Dorothy E. Holibaugh, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Randy Over and his wife, Diana, of New Bethlehem, three daughters, Connie Skinner and her husband, Martin, of RD 2, New Bethlehem, Debbie Stanford and her husband, Larry, of Route 861, Rimersburg and Linda Over of Hawthorn, 19 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren, and a sister, Arlene McCleary of Miola. Summerville, 69, of Daugherty Township, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at the Beaver Medical Center. Born June 26, 1935 in Rimersburg, he was the son of the late Donald and Lucinda Colwell Summerville. Mr. Summerville served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a steelworker with J&L Steel. Mr. Summerville is survived by two daughters, Lucinda L. Knopp and her friend, Frank Oriskovich, of Hopewell Township and Darlene Berry and her husband, William, of New Brighton; a son, Russell Summerville and his wife, Marjorie, of Freedom; nine grandchildren; a great grandson; two brothers, Milo Summerville of Oregon and Donald Summerville of Rimersburg; three sisters, Ellen Newman of Marion, Ohio, Alice Stitt of Rimersburg and Phyllis Hetrick of Erie; several nieces and nephews and a good friend, Charles Rinehart. Travis Merle L. Travis, 92, of 99 Washington St., New Bethlehem, Porter Township, Clarion County, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at his residence, following an extended illness. Born March 21, 1912 in Smithland, Porter Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Lawrence S. and Dora Lamison Travis. Mr. Travis was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army infantry and later transferred to artillery in Italy. He was a rifleman, cannoneer and guard patrolman. He was a retired AP Green employee and owned and operated barbershops in Sligo and at his residence many years. He attended the Christian and Military Alliance Church in Clarion for many years and recently affiliated with the First Church of God in New Bethlehem. He enjoyed taking fishing trips to Canada, hunting, crafting knives and going to church. On Dec. 8, 1937, Mr. Travis married Bonnie J. Smith, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Betty Greenawalt and her husband, Ronald, of Florida, Patricia Crawford and her husband, Dick, of Mayport and Cathy McNaughton and her husband, Michael, of Rimersburg; five grandchildren, Weston Crawford, Jennifer Crawford, Douglas Greenawalt, Deborah Snyder and Darlene Greenawalt; 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is also survived by a brother, Lawrence "Pete" Travis of New Bethlehem and also many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Travis was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ted, James, Charles, Paul, Henry, Francis and Harold and three sisters, Hazel, Helen and Clair. Weckerly, 89, of West Freedom, Parker, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, following an illness. Born March 20, 1915 in Callensburg, she was the daughter of the late John Reed and Beulah Stoner Love. Following high school, she attended Marion Business School in Ohio and graduated in 1939. Over the years, she was employed at the Clarion County Courthouse, Central Electric Co-Operative in Parker and Perry Township Board of Supervisors as secretary-treasurer. She has served Perry Township as assessor and a judge of elections for many years. Mrs. Weckerly was a long-time, active member of the West Freedom United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, board member and as a certified lay speaker, both at West Freedom and elsewhere. She was a past noble grand of the former Lady Freedom Rebekah Lodge in West Freedom and was a past district deputy of the Rebekah Lodge. On Nov. 4, 1939 in Phillipsburg, she married Benjamin Franklin Weckerly, who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2001. She is survived by a sister, Elnora Sexton of Murraysville; two brothers, Ralph Love of Shippenville and Arthur Love of Sligo; six nieces and a nephew. Wineman, 71, of Clairington, Forest County,died at 2:03 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at UPMC Pittsburgh. Born Friday, Sept. 22, 1933, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Floyd S. and Mary Grace Lunger Frye. Mrs. Wineman was an award-winning ceramist, an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and collecting frogs. She is survived by her husband, Jacob W. Wineman, Jr.; two sons, Mark Wineman and his wife, Rebecca, of Lucinda and Kurt Wineman and his wife, Linda, of Mebane, N.C.; four granddaughters, Amber, Alanna, Gracie and Alyssa Wineman; a sister, Mrs. Brian (Kaye) Hamilton of Green Valley, Ariz. and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wineman was preceded in death by two infant daughters and a brother. Visitation hours will not be held and interment will be private.
