    3. The LDS has the 1852-1854 births, deaths, and marriages that were kept in PA by state mandate. It was short-lived and not everyone abided by the mandate. Some counties seem to have done a better job at keeping those records than others. The originals for all the records the LDS has filmed are in Harrisburg as stated at the beginning of the LDS films. Butler County's are online, the index for Mercer County's are online and the index for the Lawrence County deaths for this time period are online at www.rootsweb.com/~pabutle2. The counties are on these films alphabetically. These records are held in the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg, PA. The title of these Records is RG26, Department of State, Secretary of Commonwealth Vital Statistics. They have also been filmed by the Genealogical Society of Salt Lake City, Utah. The microfilm is available through the Latter Day Saints Family History Library. There are a total of 6 films in this series, numbered 1016403-1016408. Butler County is on Film 1016404.
