Shirey, 64, of South Reidsburg Road, Monroe Twp., Clarion Co., died Tuesday, April 17 2001, at his residence. Born July 12 1936, in Monroe Twp., he was a son of John McCurdy and Susan DeWalt Shirey. Surviving are a son and his wife, William and Noreen Shirey of Limestone; a daughter, Mrs. Doug (Lisa) Craig of Sligo; and two grandsons, Spencer Shirey of Limestone and Douglas Craig of Sligo. He is also survived by a sister Mrs. Fred (Betty) Montgomery of Sligo; a brother and his wife, L. Carl and Lucille Shirey of Sligo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Shirey was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John Shirey, James Shirey, Robert Shirey and William Shirey; and two sisters, Ruth Spangler and Ethel Montgomery. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion is in charge of arrangements. There will be no public visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
