Clinger, 79, of 213 Rockmere Road, Oil City, died at 6:09 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin. Born Nov. 25, 1924, in Lucinda, she was the daughter of Carl R. and Irene Schill Mock. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Lucinda. Mrs. Clinger had worked at Cunningham's Restaurant, The Fireside Restaurant and the Pizza Factory. She was a member of St. Stephen Church. Mrs. Clinger was very active with her granddaughters. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and cooking family dinners. She was married May 1, 1946, to Charles B. Clinger, who died Aug. 29, 1967. Surviving are a son, David Clinger of Oil City; two daughters, Valerie A. Toscano and husband, Dominic, and Carla L. Hughes and husband, Larry, all of Oil City; and five granddaughters, Jessica Watson and husband, Derek, Nicole Toscano, Jaclyn L. Thomas, Lauren M. Thomas and Stefanie L. Thomas. She also is survived by one brother, Carl N. Mock of Clarion; three sisters, Rose Marie Bryant and husband, Sterling, of Tallahassee, Fla., Eileen Altman of Marienville and Lenore Lutz of Oil City; and two sisters-in-law, Annabelle Mock and Shirley Mock, both of Clarion. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Clinger was preceded in death by two brothers, Cleon E. Mock and Wayne A. Mock; an infant sister, Jeannie Mock; and a grandson, Joshua M. Clinger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stephen Church with Msgr. Imel Jr., 88, of North Mayfield Road, Clarion, died Sunday morning, Oct. 3, 2004, at his residence. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion is in charge of arrangements. Howard Wayne McQueeney Howard Wayne McQueeney, 56, of Lawsonham Road, Rimersburg, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. Born March 14, 1948, in Lawsonham, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Carl Eugene "Gene" McQueeney Sr. and Tressa Rebecca Yoder McQueeney. He attended the Union High School, Rimersburg. Mr. McQueeney operated Howard's Variety Shop in Lawsonham for a number of years and was known by all in the area. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. McQueeney enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, cooking and selling tickets for the area fire departments. Surviving are three sisters and their husbands, Irene M. and Raleigh Feagin and Charity L. and Billie Phillips, all of Thomasville, Ala., and Phyllis L. and LeRoy Werley of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers and their wives, Carl E. Jr. and Sue McQueeney of Montgomery, Ala., and Terry Lee and Charlotte McQueeney of Rimersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. "Sally" Fritz Schlierf, 67, of 63 Muriel Drive, West Seneca, N.Y., a former Oil City resident, survived by her husband, Ralph Schlierf, and two sons, Jeff and Eric, died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y. Ethel Irene Simpson Ethel Irene Simpson, 91, of Summerville, died Saturday morning, Oct. 2, 2004, in the Clarion Hospital following a brief illness. Born Nov. 4, 1912, in Kingsville, she was the daughter of Charles David and Elsie Violet Wilcox Altman. She attended Kingsville School. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church, the Brookville Kiwanis and the Lady Evangeline Rebekah Lodge. She was a former member of the Summerville Library Board. Mrs. Simpson was one of the original founders of the Summerville Firemen's Auxiliary. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking. Mrs. Simpson was married Oct. 14, 1936, to Joseph Henry Simpson, who died March 23, 1993. Surviving are two sons, Leland George Simpson and wife, Kathy, of Bear, Del., and Charles Elwyn Simpson and wife, Pemmie, of Summerville; a daughter, Arlene Mae Clowes of Allison Park; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Earl Altman and Lawrence Wayde Altman; and a sister, Rose Alberta Stowe.
