    3. The Derrick, Wednesday, October 27, 2004: Eleanor M. Jaskolka, 308 Miller Road, Franklin, formerly of Warren, Ohio Lois A. Johnston, Indiana, Pa. Karl T. Kraft, 1317 Cherrytree Road, Franklin Gertrude Dechant, getting it right Eleanor M. Jaskolka Eleanor M. Jaskolka, 80, of 308 Miller Road, Franklin, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at her residence. She formerly lived at 427 Durst Drive, N.W., Warren, Ohio, and also had resided on Lee Avenue in New Castle. Born Jan. 12, 1924, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna Kraft Glasser. Mrs. Jaskolka worked for Shenango Pottery for 22 years and also was the custodian for Champion Schools for 13 years. She was a member of St. Pius Church in Warren, Ohio, and was a former member of Madonna Catholic Church in New Castle. Mrs. Jaskolka was an avid gardener, loved her perennial flowers, ceramics and crocheting, along with her dog, "Punkin." She was married for 37 years to Leo J. Jaskolka, who died Nov. 10, 2003. Surviving are two nephews, Phil Swiatkowski and Joe Swiatkowski, both of Buffalo, N.Y.; four nieces and their husbands, Maryann and Marvin Welker of Franklin, Marcia and Tony Geramita of Zelienople, Alice and Jim Cardella of New Castle and Pauline Stodolak of Passaic, N.J. She also is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Flecher of New Castle. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jaskolka was preceded in death by two brothers, Aloysius Glasser and John Glasser; and five sisters, Leona and Clara Glasser, Helen Swiatkowski, Victoria Fleeger and Frances Bober. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Noga Funeral Home,, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Vitus Church, New Castle, with the Rev. John Petrarulo presiding. Interment will follow in Madonna Cemetery, New Castle. Lois A. Johnston Lois A. Johnston, 101, of Indiana, Pa., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, in Kenbrook Personal Care Home in Indiana, Pa. Born July 9, 1903, in Clarion County, she was the daughter of T. Grant and Minnie A. Potter Johnston. Miss Johnston was a longtime member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church in Franklin. For many years, Miss Johnston was a secretary for General Telephone Co. in Oil City. After her retirement she lived in Florida and Grove City before moving in 2001 to Indiana, Pa. Surviving are three nieces, Helen A. Millard of Indiana, Pa., Barbara Ann Smith of Sidney, Ohio, and Margaret J. Weigel and husband, Vern, of Hadley; a special great-niece, Meredith Keverline and husband, Tom, along with many other great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Johnston was preceded in death by the following siblings: F. Rea Johnston, Sara E. Johnston, Clara M. Beatty, Howard M. Johnston, Clark P. Johnston, Paul L. Johnston, Craig E. Johnston, Margaret H. Adams and Homer G. Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. At Miss Johnston's request, there will be no viewing. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion. Interment will be in New Rehobeth Cemetery, Clarion County. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Karl T. Kraft Karl T. Kraft, 76, of 1317 Cherrytree Road, Franklin, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2004, in his home. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Karl T. Kraft Sr. and Helen Doherty Kraft. He was a graduate of Collingwood High School in Cleveland. Mr. Kraft worked for the railroad, starting with the New York Central, then Penn Central and last with Conrail, retiring after 47 years of service. He was married Sept. 26, 1953, to the former Gladys Hartman, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Tim and Jamie Kraft of Canton, Ohio, and Michael and Kathy Kraft of Westlake, Ohio; six grandchildren, McKenree Kraft of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lauren Kraft, Kaitlin Kraft and Ted Kraft, all of Westlake, Ohio, and Kelsey Kraft and Kenzie Kraft, both of Canton, Ohio. There will be no visitation and no services. The family suggests donations be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church, 10 Stewart Road, Oil City, 16301. The Huff Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Getting it Right - Gertrude Dechant Gertrude "Gertie" Stoudt Dechant - Gertrude "Gertie" Stoudt Dechant, 95, formerly of 9 Wabash Ave., Oil City, died at 8:36 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home. Among her survivors are a son, George C. McCartney and his wife, Kathy, of Chesapeake, Va.
