    3. The Derrick, November 8, 2007: Carolyn M. Burns, Clarion Virginia Pearl Gilbert, Pappy's Lane, Clarion Harold "Lee" Stanbro, Route 89, Spartansburg Dale J. Wolbert, Clarion Getting it Right - Helen A. DeStefano Carolyn M. Burns Carolyn M. Burns, 66, of Clarion, died Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2007, in the Clarion Hospital after a short bout with cancer. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion, is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Friday in The Derrick. Virginia Pearl Gilbert, 92, of Pappy's Lane, Clarion, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in her home. Born Dec. 9, 1914, in Rymer, W.Va., she was the daughter of Clyde and Effie Myers Wyckoff. Mrs. Gilbert was a homemaker. She was married Nov. 24, 1931, to Sherley Gilbert, who preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2001. Surviving are one son, Junior Ray Gilbert of Clarion; one daughter, Edna Geraldine Ingmire of Arizona; 10 grandchildren, Jim, Bill, Ronnie, Chuck, Danny, Randy, Rick, Kathy, Debra and Donald; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Gilbert; two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Boyd Edmondson officiating. Interment will follow in the Miola Cemetery. Harold 'Lee' Stanbro Harold "Lee" Stanbro, 77, of Route 89, Spartansburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in the Golden Living Center, Titsuville. Born May 30, 1930, in Youngsville, he was the son of the late Harold and Margaret White Stanbro. Mr. Stanbro was raised and educated in the Spartansburg area and graduated from Spartansburg High School. He then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the military, Mr. Stanbro was self-employed in masonry work. He worked for Superior Refuse Waste in Oil City and Erie and later became co-owner. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 237 in Union City and the VFW Post No 264 in Corry. Mr. Stanbro was married in Titusville July 16, 1955, to the former Donna Weidner, who preceded him in death in 2005. Surviving are a son, Kevin Stanbro of Spartansburg; a brother, Herbert Stanbro and wife, Martha, of Tampa, Fla.; four nieces, Susan Wren and Debbie Shrout, both of Oil City, Sharon Shaw of Maryland and Beth Ann Weidner of Warren; a nephew, Robert Prody of Clinton, N.Y.; and special friends, Shelly Byrnes and Mike Csop. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Stanbro was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Stanbro in 1978; and a sister, Doris Bills. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Bracken Funeral Home, 211 Mechanic St., Spartansburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Spartansburg. Memorials may be made to the Corry Regional Hospice, 612 W. Smith St., Corry, 16407. Dale J. Wolbert, 56, of Clarion, died suddenly Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007. Born Sept. 28, 1951, in Clarion, he was the son of the late Fredrick A. and Mary D. Weaver Wolbert. Mr. Wolbert graduated in 1970 from North Clarion High School. He worked at Owens-Illinois in Clarion and retired in 2007. Mr. Wolbert enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Surviving are three children, Alicia M. Wolbert of Clarion, Cody J. Wolbert and Luke E. Wolbert, both of Corsica. He also is survived by four brothers and three sisters, William J. Wolbert of Strattanville, Donald F. Wolbert and wife, Patricia, of Oil City, Thomas A. Wolbert and wife, Diane "Dee," of Lucinda, Gregory Wolbert and wife, Debbie, of Rimersburg, Mary Lou Douglas of Erie, Barbara Fiscus and husband, James, of Clarion and Kathleen "Kitty" Obenrader and husband, John, of Oil City; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick Wolbert. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Borland Funeral Home Inc. in Leeper. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev.William C. Miller, pastor of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda, presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 100 West Station Square, Suite 1950, Pittsburgh, 15219. Getting it Right - Helen A. DeStefano Helen A. DeStefano, 95, of Allenhurst Avenue, Ridgway, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, in Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys. Among her survivors are her son, Michael J. DeStefano and his wife, Mary Lee, of Ridgway.
