    3. The Derrick, November 30, 2007: Mae Bell Carlile, formerly of 611 W. First St., Oil City Eugene C. Henry, 490 McCall Road, Rimersburg John A. Yantz Jr., Clarion Mae Bell Carlile Mae Bell Carlile, 64, formerly of 611 W. First St., Oil City, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, in the Golden Living Center, Oil City. Born Sept. 29, 1943, in Oil City, she was the daughter of William G. Carlile and Margaret L. Grimm Carlile. She attended the Oil City schools and had lived in the Oil City area all of her life. Ms. Carlile had worked at the Venango Training and Development Center. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Troup of Franklin and Kathy Davis of Polk; two brothers, Rick Carlile of Oil City and Joseph Michael Carlile of Arizona; and six nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William G. Carlile Jr. There will be no visitation and no services. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. The Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City, was in charge of arrangements. Eugene C. Henry, 79, of 490 McCall Road, Rimersburg, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice House in Shippenville following an illness. Born Dec. 2, 1927, in New Bethlehem, he was the son of Leon and Flomy Huffman Henry. Mr. Henry served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Asian Theater during World War II and served state side during the Korean War. He served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps. He retired as a truck driver from Schneider Transport. Mr. Henry was a member of the Sligo Presbyterian Church and the Clarion Masonic Lodge No. 277, F. & A.M. He was married Jan. 1, 1962, to the former Ella I. McCall, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Robin L. Peterson and husband, Allen, of Clarion, Debra Reasinger and friend, Bob Edmiston, of DuBois and Lisa Balenciaga and husband, Gene, of Irwin; four sons, W. Marty Henry and wife, Roxann, of New Bethlehem, Craig E. Henry and wife, Michelle, of Macon, Ga., Bill Conner and wife, Nancy, of Springfield, Mo., and Bob Conner and wife, Barb, of Sligo; one daughter-in-law, Roena Conner of Chicora; 24 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by one sister and her husband, Ruth and Paul Burdett of Distant; and one brother, Walter Henry of Shippenville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Henry was preceded in death by one son, Doug Conner. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sligo Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Stephanie Weaver, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Sligo Cemetery. The family suggests memorials donations be made to the Sligo Presbyterian Church, Sligo, 16255, or to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice, Knox, 16232. John A. Yantz Jr. John A. Yantz Jr., 44, of Clarion, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, in the emergency room of the Clarion Hospital. Born March 5, 1963, in Montebello, Calif., he was the son of Marie Ritzert Yantz, who preceded him in death. He served two years in the United States Air Force as a bomb technician and also worked in corrosion control. Mr. Yantz was a self-employed paint contractor. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Yantz enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, canoeing, camping, mountain biking and motorcycles. He was married Nov. 1, 1987, to Tammy Selts, who survives, along with two children, Dixie Tallulah Yantz of Melbourne, Fla., and John A. Yantz III of Clarion. Also surviving are three brothers, William "Butch" Bowser and wife, Janet, of North Washington, James Bowser of Winter Haven, Fla., and Dean Bowser of Ambridge; four sisters, Mary Ellen Blair and husband, Terry, of Cabot, Karen Kisic and husband, Chuck, of Wampum, Cindy Galeski of Rochester, Pa., and Michele Mani and husband, Robert, of Michigan; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home of Clarion is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
