Hagerty, New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Oil City and Saegertown Cletus B. Leicht, Strobleton Raymond Arthur Knechtel, Garysburg, N.C., formerly of Wesley and New Wilmington Anthony R. "Tony" Yashinski, Route 417, Cooperstown, formerly of Kennerdell Suzanne Dunmire Balodis, 36, of Millcreek, formerly of Oil City, died in her home Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, following a three and one-half-year illness surrounded by family and friends. Born Nov. 8, 1970, in Oil City, she was the daughter of George E. Dunmire Jr. and Karen McMillin Dunmire. Mrs. Balodis was a 1988 graduate of McDowell High School and attended Mercyhurst College, Erie. Her previous employment included Surf-n-Turf Marine, Ups and Downs and Tuxedo Junction. Her current employment was as manager of Pretzletown USA in the Millcreek Mall. Mrs. Balodis was a parishioner at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Millcreek. She was the beloved wife of Erik Balodis, whom she married April 20, 1996, and was the devoted mother of two children, James Martin Balodis and Caitlyn Marie Balodis. Also surviving are her parents; one brother, George M. Dunmire, his wife Jennifer, and their son, Dylan; her mother-in-law, Ann Onderko; father-in-law, Martin Balodis; brothers-in-law, Nathan Onderko and Alan Balodis; aunts and uncles, Marge and Bill Berry, Bob and Trish Dunmire and Tom and Susan Dunmire; cousins, Harold Berry and Shannon, Robert, Daniel, Tom, Andy and Joe Dunmire; and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by two cousins, James Michael Berry and Jonathan Dunmire; her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Helen Shaw McMillin; and her paternal grandparents, George E. Sr. and Mary Gavin Dunmire. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the new Burton West Lake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th St., Erie. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Jude the Apostle Church. Doyle, 64, of 701 E. 69th St., Tacoma, Wash., born in Franklin to the late George and Nolene Engles Doyle, brother of Sheree Greggs of Stoneboro, Donna Knox of Franklin, Ralph Doyle of Polk and Jim Doyle of Utica, and other relatives in the Franklin area, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, in his residence. Charles Donald Fairley Charles Donald Fairley, 76, of Oil City, died at 2:04 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Among his survivors are his wife, Martha, and a son, Donald, both of Oil City. Cletus B. Leicht Cletus B. Leicht, 81, a lifelong resident of the Strobleton area, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, in Clarion Hospital following a brief illness. Born Jan. 8, 1926, in Strobleton, he was the son of Maurice and Catherine Hahn Licht. Mr. Leicht was employed as a mechanic at Venus Motor Co., Fryburg Ford, O'Connor Trucking, Cutis Wright in Buffalo, N.Y., and again at Venus Motor Co. until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Leicht was involved in the Boy Scouts of America where he served as a leader, earned the Scout Master Award, was involved in the Order of the Arrow and earned three Merit Awards. He was a life member of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a fire police officer and he was a member of the Pennsylvania Fire Police Association. Mr. Leicht held membership in the Fryburg Sportsman's Club, Boots and Saddles Club, AARP, Moose Lodge No. 101 of Clarion and the Oil City Eagles for more than 35 years. Surviving are two brothers, Charles "Dick" Licht and wife, Chelsea, and Clyde Licht and wife, Carole; three sisters, Rose Swonger, Helen Licht and Gloria Eisenman and husband, James; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and June; and three sisters, Doris Mock, Grace Lenhart and Mary Catherine "Kay" Licht. Private viewing for family members will be held in the Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael Church, Fryburg, with the Rev. David Poulson, pastor, presiding. Inurnment will be in St. Michael Cemetery at the wishes of the family. The family suggests memorial be made to the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. Ronald C. Hagerty, 84, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Oil City and Saegertown, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 5, 1923, in Oil City, he was the son of Harry S. and Millie Mae Sadler Hagerty. Mr. Hagerty graduated in 1940 from Oil City High School and attended Indiana and Penn State universities. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the destroyer USS Izard in the Pacific Theater. He enjoyed attending annual reunions with his fellow seamates. Mr. Hagerty was an avid musician and could play any instrument. He played in the Penn State Nittany Lion Blue Band and continued his love of music, playing in many bands including the Mummers of New Port Richey until the time of his death. He was retired from FMC of Saegertown where he was a powerhouse operator for 20 years. Mr. Hagerty was married Feb. 10, 1947, to the former Claudine R. McMillen of Oil City. She preceded him in death in February 1986. Surviving are four children, James R. Hagerty and wife, Linda, of Franklin, Tim L. Hagerty and wife, Mary Kay, of Franklin, Steve H. Hagerty of Saegertown and Pam S. Szewczyk of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Jill Shull, Jaime O'Neil, Justin Hagerytr, Shona Knupp, KariAnn and Megan Szewczyk; and four great-grandchildren, Abbey and Evan Shull, Caden Hagerty and Matthew O'Neil. He also is survived by one brother, Ken Hagerty of Ohio; and one sister, Helen Hetrick of Oil City. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Hagerty of Williamsport. Raymond Arthur Knechtel, 75, of 200 Delma Drive, Garysburg, N.C., formerly of Wesley and New Wilmington, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, while vacationing in Flagstaff, Ariz. Born March 20, 1932, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Fredrick Joseph and Aline Blosat Knechtel. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Knechtel operated a dairy farm in the Wesley area for years. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in Mercer where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. Mr. Knechtel was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. He enjoyed fishing, camping and car shows. Mr. Knechtel was married June 15, 1951, to Mary Grace Poole of Wesley, who preceded him in death. He was married in June 2005 to Lorene I. Opferman, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Theodore Knechtel and his wife, Diane, of Polk, Kenneth Knechtel and his wife, Joni, of Mercer, Lela Glancy of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Timothy Knechtel and his wife, Rosemary, of Fowler, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Fredrick Knechtel of California; and a stepsister, Donna Semanco of Sharon. Mr. Knechtel was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald Knechtel; and infant twin sons, Norman Fredrick and Steven Arthur. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Venango St., Mercer, with the Rev. James Leuenberger officiating. He will be assisted by Bill Knechtel, a grandson of the deceased. Anthony R. 'Tony' Yashinski Anthony R. "Tony" Yashinski, 80, of Route 417, Cooperstown, formerly of Kennerdell, died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2007, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca, following an extended illness.
