Scott Guzzo, Rockton, formerly of Knox Bradley Duane "Brad" Tidd, Parker, Colo., formerly of Grove City Anthony R. "Tony" Yashinski, Route 417, Dempseytown, formerly of Kennerdell. Esther M. Borchert Esther M. Borchert, 42, of Cherry Valley Borough, Butler County, died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2007, at her residence. D. Scott Guzzo, 47, of Rockton, formerly of Knox, died unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, while vacationing in Corolla, N.C. Born Dec. 1, 1959, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Lynne Jones, who survives in Knox. He was a 1977 graduate of Keystone High School in Knox. Mr. Guzzo served in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 until 1991. He was employed by WalMart for the past 15 years, most recently as store manager at Robinson Town Center in Pittsburgh. Mr. Guzzo was a member of the Roseville Independent Chapel in Roseville. He enjoyed dirt bike riding, auto racing, bowling, softball and Sci-Fi, and was an automobile enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Katie, who was his pride and joy. Mr. Guzzo was married April 25, 1999, to Susan Fillhart, who survives. Also surviving are his mother of Knox; a sister, Carole McCall and husband, Jeff, of Franklin; a brother, Tim Guzzo and his fiancée, Aubrey Hulings of Knox; his daughter, Katie Guzzo of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; three stepchildren, Josh Muth, Mike Muth and Sherri Muth, all of Rockton; and numerous extended family. Mr. Guzzo was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louis and Dorothy "June" Jones of Perryville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday in the Roseville Independent Chapel in Roseville with the Rev. Jim Fillhart, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockton Cemetery. Bradley Duane "Brad" Tidd, 34, of Parker, Colo., formerly of Grove City, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, following a motorcycle accident in Franktown, Colo. Born Nov. 19, 1972, in Grove City, he was the son of James A. and Bonnie L. Phipps Tidd of Grove City. While living in Grove City, he earned his Eagle Scout in 1990 and graduated in 1991 from Grove City Area High School. He graduated in 1995 from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Spring, Colo., earning his bachelor of science degree in astronautical engineering. >From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Tidd was stationed at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, working on Titan Rockets, and Buckley Air Force Base, working with satellites. From 2000 to 2002, he worked for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co. on the Atlas V programs. He received his M.S.M. in 2003 from the University of Denver, Denver, Colo. At the time of his death, Mr. Tidd worked for the Proposal Analyst with integrated systems and solutions within Lockheed Martin Corp. and also worked with Lockheed Martin Astronautics, J.R.W., Raytheon, Harris Corp., Brown and Root, Johnson Controls, Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA. Mr. Tidd was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church in Parker, Colo. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed NASCAR racing, was a 4-wheeler enthusiast and was a loving father and husband. He also was an organ donor with his thoughts of always helping others. Mr. Tidd was married July 20, 1996, in Denver, Colo., to Catherine Hope Mouton of Parker, Colo., and she survives. Also surviving are three children, Haley Elizabeth, age 5, Michael Jeffrey, age 3, and Sarah Alice, 18 months, all at home; his parents, James and Bonnie Tidd of Grove City; one sister, Brenda E. Petroff and husband, Mark, of Erie, and one brother, Jeremy B. Tidd and fiancée, Bobbie-Jo Cushing, of Polk. He also is survived by his grandfather, Willard C. Phipps, formerly of Polk, and his grandmother, Freda V. Tidd of Franklin; an uncle, Larry A. Tidd and wife, Peggy, of Franklin; a niece, Amanda E. Petroff of Erie; and two nephews, Brian and John Sullivan, of Denver, Colo. Mr. Tidd was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Wade Tidd; his grandmother, Julia E. "Dolly" Phipps; and his grandfather, Samuel H. Tidd. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, in the North Liberty Presbyterian Church, North Liberty-Plain Grove Road, Grove City, with the Rev. Jerry Mahaffey officiating. Interment took place at Little Chapel on the Hill, Buffalo Creek, Colo. Anthony R. "Tony" Yashinski, 80, of 4345 Route 417 Dempseytown, formerly of 120 Jared Lane, Kennerdell, died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca, after an extended illness. Born Dec. 26, 1926, in Oil City, he was the son of Anthony and Edith Anthony Yashinski. Mr. Yashinski was a 1945 graduate of Oil City High School. He was of the Catholic Faith. Mr. Yashinski had worked for the United Natural Gas Co. and retired in 1982 as the foreman of the Lithograph Department at Continental Can Co. He enjoyed all sports and in his younger years he played baseball. He also enjoyed hunting and was an avid golfer and as a hobby, he enjoyed making golf clubs.. Mr. Yashinski was married Sept. 13, 1947, in St. Venantius Church, Rouseville, to Marguerite W. "Peggy" Kirkwood, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Delores Struss and Mary Lou Gutowski, both of Oil City; several nieces and nephews, Debbie Masters, Lee and Teresa Belfiore, Cindy Finnefrock, Jami Smail, Gregory Smalley and Mark Smalley; and a sister-in-law and spouse, Carol and James Smalley of Dempseytown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cecelia Miller and Dorothy Belfiore; a brother-in-law and his spouse, Paul and Betty Kirkwood; and three brothers-in-law, Jim Struss, Honey Belfiore and Ray Gutowski. Private visitation and funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor of St. Stephen Church, will preside.
