McMahon, formerly of Cooperstown Keith Rudell Rankin, Knox Eleanor E. "Toot" Rupp, Fairmount City, formerly of Dry Ridge W. Dale Hammerlee, 81, of Sunnyside Road, Findley Lake, N.Y., died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at his residence. Born Dec. 23, 1925, in Polk, he was the son of Floyd R. and Iva E. Davis Hammerlee Sr. He was raised and educated around the Franklin area and graduated from Franklin High School in 1943. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served as an aviation cadet. Upon his discharge, he returned to Franklin and went to work at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. as a machinist. He had also worked for Joy Manufacturing in Franklin and Oilwell Supply in Oil City. In 1959, he moved to Corry and began employment with Ajax Iron Works (Cooper Industries). He retired in 1986 as a machine shop foreman. Following his retirement, he worked for the Bracken Funeral Home in Corry for many years. His greatest enjoyment was being active with his children and grandchildren in sporting events and other activities including his church. He also enjoyed boating and taking his children and grandchildren skiing. Mr. Hammerlee was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Corry and was presently a member of First Alliance Church in Erie. He was a former deacon at First Alliance. He had served on the board of directors of Corry Memorial Hospital and on the Zoning Board of Findley Lake. Mr. Hammerlee is survived by his wife, Shirley Chamberlain Hammerlee. They were married Nov. 25, 1950, in Franklin. He is also survived by two daughters, Marsha E. Marsh and her husband, Greg, of Erie, and Adele D. Futato and her husband, Mark, of Oviedo, Fla.; one son, Dr. William D. Hammerlee and his wife, Valerie, of Erie; and three sisters, Sara Jane Borland of Winchester, Va., Patricia J. Smith of Naples, Fla., and Norma J. Siekkinen and her husband, Duane, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Lucas Marsh and his wife, Nicole, Laban Marsh and his wife, Megan, Levi Marsh and his wife, Kim, Lamech Marsh and his wife, Anne Marie, Rebekah Thobaben and her husband, Zack, Adam, Laura and Sarah Hammerlee, and William, Evan, Mark David and Annie Futato; one great-granddaughter, Alexis Marsh; also many nieces and nephews. Long, 83, of 1327 State Route 227, Oil City, died at 6:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born May 9, 1924, in Franklin, he was the son of the late Jacob and Kathryn Shreffler Hayes Long. He was a graduate of Franklin High School. Mr. Long had lived in the Plumer area for the past 41 years. He served as a gunner's mate in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Mr. Long was first employed at Oilwell Supply, then at General Telephone as a lineman and engineer until he retired in 1987. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City, where he served as a deacon and elder and on the session board. Mr. Long was a major part of the Good Friday Laymen's Breakfast for more than 35 years, volunteering and serving as chairman. He was also a cook for many years for the Friday men's breakfast at Trinity United Methodist Church and later at Second Presbyterian Church. He served for 13 years on the Oil City School Board and also served as a Cornplanter Township supervisor. He was a volunteer for the Oil City Youth Football League and the Blue and White Booster Club, and he was a former Boy Scout leader. Mr. Long enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He married the former Carol A. Cropp on Sept. 25, 1965, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter and her husband, Donna and Mike Sardo of Buffalo, N.Y.; two sons and their wives, Jeff and Angie Long of Columbus, Ohio, and Steve and Lori Long of Oil City; eight grandchildren, Chris and Paulette Giarratano and Jason and Kim Sardo, all of Buffalo, N.Y., Derek and Meghan Long of Columbus, Ohio, and Joshua and Andrew Long of Oil City; and one great-grandson, Dominic Giarratano of Buffalo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Mizwa; one brother, Logan Long; and two sisters, Carrie Saeli and Virginia Bortzer. Julianna McCall Julianna McCall, 87, of Clairton, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007. Among her survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janice, and grandson Ryan McCall, all of Seneca. Grace A. McMahon, 89, formerly of Wright Road, Cooperstown, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Chardon, Ohio. Born Aug. 14, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Edward E. and Emma Lee Torok Wood. She married Earl J. McMahon on June 22, 1940, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. McMahon was a member of McDaniels Corners Bible Church in Cochranton. She is survived by five children, Janet A. Furpahs of Cooperstown, Earl E. McMahon and his wife, Joanne, of Madison, Ohio, Stephen P. McMahon and his wife, Karen, of Mentor, Ohio, Helen L. Locke and her husband, Bruce, of Euclid, Ohio, and Ruth E. Wyatt and her husband, Andy, of Chardon, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dever and George Wood; and one sister, Genevieve Gergely. Keith Rudell Rankin, 73, of Knox, died at 9:05 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at the VNA Hospice House in Shippenville following an extended illness. Born April 9, 1934, in Emlenton, he was the son of the late Nelson and Laura Burke Rankin. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church near Emlenton. He was instrumental in the establishment of many local churches of various denominations. Mr. Rankin had been employed by the Quaker State Refinery at Emlenton, Ti-Brook near Eau Claire and Brookville, and he was retired from Evergreen Construction Co. of Corsica. He was an avid hunter from his early years until ill health prevented his participation in the sport. In addition to the outdoors, he attended auctions whenever possible. NASCAR viewing was another great hobby, especially following the career of Dale Earnhardt Sr. While work and hobbies were very meaningful to him, nothing surpassed his love of family and spending as much time as possible with all his generations. Mr. Rankin is survived by his wife, Shirley Exley Rankin, whom he married Sept. 18, 1999; one son, Michael "Mike" R. Rankin and his wife, Leslie, of Parker; three stepsons, David Reddinger and his wife, Kim, of Cranberry, Venango County, Larry Reddinger and his wife, Bonda, of Knox, and Ken Reddinger and his wife, Tiffany, of Fairfax, Va.; and two stepdaughters, Molly Reddinger and her friend, Mitch Mansfield, and Mrs. Thomas (Latrisha) Ratliff, all of Hayes, Va. Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; one brother, Lavell "Pete" Rankin and his wife, Helen, of Clintonville; two sisters, Arlene Sherman of Lamartine and Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Stalker of Florida; two previous wives, Martha Gill and Bessie Rankin; and one son-in-law, Gerald Smith of Grove City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Rankin Smith; two brothers, Donald and Darrell Rankin; and one sister, Myrtle Logue. "Toot" Rupp, 74, of 1644 Truittsburg Road, Fairmount City and formerly of Dry Ridge, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at the Clarion Hospital, Monroe Township. Born Dec. 6, 1932 in Oak Ridge, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Goldie Mae (Bish) and Charles E. Nolf. Mrs. Rupp was a housewife and mother. She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, gardening and baking. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. On Aug. 2, 1952, she married Howard Dean Rupp, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1983. She is survived by two sons, Alan Rupp and his fiancâ?s Missy of Fairmount City and Terry Rupp and his wife Kim of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Rita Bullers and her husband Dave of Punxsutawney, Debra Adams and her special friend Randall Stahlman of Punxsutawney and Cheryl Shaffer and her husband Brian of New Bethlehem; four sisters, Grace Shirey and her husband Glenn of Kittanning, Mae Bristor of Ohio, Ruth Hopper and her husband Herman of New Bethlehem and Violet Stuart of New Bethlehem; three brothers ,John Nolf and his wife Peg of New Bethlehem, Glenn Nolf and his wife Peggy of Mayport and Clair Nolf and his wife Annette of New Bethlehem. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rupp was preceded in death by one son, Larry Dean Rupp; three brothers, Earl Nolf, Hilton Nolf and James "Jake" Nolf, and a sister, Mary R. Andrews.
