T. Kuhns Observe 47th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Kuhns of Curllsville celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary Feb. 11. They were married in the Methodist Parsonage in Clarion by Rev. T. A. Locke. Parents of four children, T. A. of Sligo; H. C. of Clarion; Mrs. Ruby Seigworth of Clarion and Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) Byers of Clarion RD, they also have eight grand-children. Mrs. Kuhns is the former Bertha Shirey, daughter of the late Berton N. and Maggie E. Shirey of Rimersburg RD 1. Mr. Kuhns remarked that their wedding date this year fell in a completely different type of weather than 47 years ago. On that day they took a livery rig to Clarion and then took a train to Summerville. They planned on taking the low grade train to Rimersburg where they planned on being married. But because of a wreck at Summerville they had to return to Clarion. When they got back to Clarion they found they would have to wait to late evening for a minister as a draft contingent was leaving for service in World War I and t! he minister was with them. The next day they were able to take the train to Lawsonham where they were met by a team and a sleigh. The snow storm was so severe that on the way to Rimersburg the sleigh was upset by the wind, sleet and snow. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kuhns was employed as an oil and gas driller. Mrs. Kuhns has been Clarion Newspapers correspondent for Curllsville for appoxiamately 30 years. Source and date of article is unknown. Another article: CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY - Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Kuhns of Curllsville are celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary today. Thomas Kuhns and the former Bertha May Sirey (sic?) were married February 11, 1918 in the Methodist Church parsonage in Clarion by Rev. Locke. They have lived in Curllsville all their married life, and are the parents of four children, two boys and two girls. Because Mrs. Kuhns is in poor health no celebration has been planned.
