They lived in Farmington Township on the present Lawrence Griebel farm north of Snydersburg; neighbors were James McLaughlin, William Gould, Casper Shafer, Sebastian Wilshire, Jacob Weiser. George was a Clarion River pilot. The 1877 Caldwell Atlas shows a Kerr schoolhouse in their area; it became known as the Gould school.
