His father (George R.) and mother Susanna (Susan) Strecker were married in Philadelphia 29 October 1835 in the St. George Methodist Church. They moved to Indiana County where the 1850 census lists seven children. Their Samuel is 13 in June 1850. Henry is listed as 11, but he was not quite 10. Who gave the info to the taker? or subtracted incorrectly given June and September? or "he will be 11 in two months" A third brother, Adam is 2. The three met for a photo in Patton, PA for some event, perhaps 1900. Samuel was thought to be a laborer without a base, had a broken nose, and wore poor threads.
