Baker, 94, of 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Sugar Creek Station. Born May 3, 1913, in Frenchcreek Township, she was the daughter of Aaron and Nora Skyler Kelly. Mrs. Baker retired from Polk Center, where she was a cook. She was a member of Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees. She enjoyed the Polk Quilting Bee and bingo. She was married June 26, 1929, to Domer L. Baker, who preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1951. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Gladys and Lewis Ghering and Donna and Lewis Stright, all of Franklin. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Alberta Umstead, Grace Hovis, Amy Baker and Ethel Lankow; four brothers, Glenn Kelly, Delbert Kelly, Clarence Kelly and Jim Kelly; and two infant granddaughters, Lisa Louise Stright and Kimberly Jo Stright. Born Sept. 3, 1913, in Baxter, she was a daughter of Kenneth and Nell Burns Shields. Mrs. Fitzsimmons worked in the Register and Recorder's office in the Jefferson County Courthouse as a clerk and as a secretary for the Fitzsimmons Agency of Brookville. She was a member of the Springside Baptist Church of New Bethlehem, where she had served as an organist, and was a past member of the Roseville Grange. She was married in 1933 to Winfield D. Fitzsimmons, who preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1987. Surviving are five children, Rose Swineford and her husband, Charles, of Corsica, Eugene Fitzsimmons of Virginia Beach, Va., Thomas S. Fitzsimmons and his wife, Jeanette, of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, James R. "Buck" Fitzsimmons and his wife, Sally, of Mayport, and Robert A. Fitzsimmons and his wife, Barbara, of Lickingville. Survivors also include 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Loretta Fitzsimmons, on June 30, 1974; and a sister, Elva Shields, at the age of 13. Drake St., Titusville died at 2:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at her residence. Born Jan. 31, 1917, in Titusville, she was a daughter of the late Marcus and Martha Moore. Mrs. Proper attended Titusville area schools. She was formerly employed by the Donald McKinney family. She also worked for 10 years as a home health aide to several families in Titusville. She was an original member of the Mount Carmel Tabernacle in Dempseytown, which she and her husband founded and pastored. Mrs. Proper volunteered at the Titusville Food Bank up until this past December. She loved being surrounded by her whole family and was special to all who knew her. Mrs. Proper was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan and used to enjoy fishing with her special friends, Lena and Eddie Best and Jack McFadden. She was married Feb. 28, 1937, in Titusville to Alvin LeRoy Proper, who preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1969. She is survived by six children, Elsie "Ellie" Proper of Titusville, Richard Proper and his wife, Katherine, of Newport News, Va., Fay Corley of Titusville, Jerry Proper and his wife, Nancy, of North Canton, Ohio, and Marie Chappel and her husband, Daniel, and Alvin Proper and his wife, Barbara, all of Titusville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert Harold Reed Robert Harold Reed, 75, of 17508 Route 322, Strattanville, Clarion Township, Clarion County, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at UPMC, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 24, 1931, in Caldwell Corners, Eldred Township, Jefferson County, he was a son of Charles and Mary Haines Reed. Mr. Reed was self-employed and operated a sanitation service. He was married to the former Alberta Spare, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Mary J. Blachier and her husband, Jim, of Strattanville, Robert J. Reed of Strattanville, Dorothy J. Bush and her husband, Dave Jr., of Summerville and David A. Reed of Strattanville; two stepdaughters, Cathy Simpson of Strattanville and Carol Guerra of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two stepsons, Richard Geist of Strattanville and Ronald Geist of Mayport. Survivors also include five sisters, Ruth Trayer of Mayport, Beulah "Bea" Dudley of Kirtland, Ohio, Hazel Charlton of Erie, Marie Ashforth of Lyndhurst, Ohio, and Martha Bates of Euclid, Ohio; four brothers, Harry, Kenny and John Reed, all of Brookville, and Charles Reed of Reynoldsville; three grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alton Reed; a stepson, Harold E. Geist Jr.; two infant brothers, William and James Reed; and an infant sister, Dorothy Reed. Ten Eyck of Oil City at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Christ Community Church, 305 Duncomb St., Oil City. Mr. Ten Eyck died Saturday, June 9, 2007, in UPMC Northwest following an extended illness.
