The Derrick, June 30, 2007: Bessie L. Bestwick, formerly of 167 Coolspring Road, Fairview Township Norma H. Daly, 2687 State Route 8, Titusville Bessie L. Bestwick Bessie L. Bestwick, 88, formerly of 167 Coolspring Road, Fairview Township, died at 11:15 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, in Woodland Place after an extended illness. Born Sept. 9, 1918, in Frewsburg, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Wesley L. "Roy" and Mary A. Dickinson Griffin. She attended school in Rouseville. Mrs. Bestwick was a homemaker and enjoyed growing flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Coolspring Presbyterian Church in Mercer, and was a longtime member of the Jackson Grange No. 1506 in Jackson Township. On April 16, 1938, she married Allen W. Bestwick, who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2003. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara E. Bestwick of Fredonia; and eight nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Mook. Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Philip H. Chalfant, Pastor of Coolspring Presbyterian Church, and assisted by Linda Kellogg, director of ministries of the church. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fairview Township. Daly, 68, of 2687 State Route 8, Titusville, died at 2:52 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at the Titusville Area Hospital. Born Aug. 6, 1938, in Rockland Township, she was a daughter of the late David and Goldie Shontz Hart. She attended Rockland schools. Mrs. Daly was previously employed as a nurse's aid at the Titusville Area Hospital and most recently as a cook at Emerson Place in Titusville. She loved her pet cats, enjoyed watching NASCAR, and reading. On Sept. 11, 1970, in Plumer, she married Albert R. Daly, who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Daly is survived by one son, Ricky A. Daly of Titusville; one daughter, Lori E. Daly of Titusville; two step-grandchildren, Douglas and Johni; three great grandsons, Luke, Nicholas, Zachary; one brother, LeRoy Hart and wife Marilyn of Franklin; five sisters, Vera Renninger and husband Jack, Audine Faye Warner and husband Edwin, Lois Carson and husband Norman, all of Titusville, Thelma Souders and Sue Shouey both of Oklahoma City, Okla. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Fox and Betty Mae Hart; and three brothers, Walter Hart, David Hart Jr., and Carl Hart. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dominic Pecoraro, pastor of the Titusville Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.
