BOYER SIRES, 64, of Country Estates, Bullion, Venango County, died at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at her residence following an extended illness. Born May 17, 1940, in Clinton Township, Venango County, she was the daughter of Virgil V. "Bill" Boyer and Ruth Marie Cassedy Boyer. She attended Victory Joint High School in Irwin Township, which later became part of the Franklin Area School District. Mrs. Sires retired in 1999 from Polk Center, where she worked for 19 years in the laundry department. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville where she had been a deacon and also a member of the Builders Sunday School Class. Mrs. Sires was a former member of the Clintonville Women's Club. She was active in the Emlenton Rainbow For Girls where she was a past mother adviser. She loved being with her grandchildren, reading and gardening and also loved to cook and bake for her family. Mrs. Sires was married October 8, 1982, to Merle Kenneth Sires, w! ho survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael A. Guiste and his wife, Billie M., of Emlenton, and Keith E. Guiste of Kennerdell; two daughters, Mrs. Michael W. (Anita S.) Matthews of Kennerdell and Mrs. Earl R. (Angela K.) Moore of Emlenton; 10 grandchildren: James Guiste, David Guiste and wife, Amber, Sam Guiste, Jared, Cody, Dakota, Jordan and Emily Matthews, and Christopher and Hillary Moore; and one great-grandchild, Dominique Guiste. She also is survived by two sisters, Carol E. Hutchison of Franklin and Mrs. Jack D. (Nancy L.) Graham of Kennerdell; and two brothers, Kenneth Eugene Boyer of Milton, FL and Thomas L. Boyer of Kennerdell. Mrs. Sires was preceded in death by her father on June 26, 1985; her mother, September 14, 2003; an infant brother, Larry L.; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Matthews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Services will be held at 11 a.! m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Anthony Catullo, pastor of Union Presbyterian Church, Clintonville, officiating. Interment will be in Clintonville Methodist Cemetery, Clintonville Borough. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Dr. Howard Kirtland Foundation, 1339 Liberty St., Franklin, 16323; or the VNA Hospice of Venango County, 176 E. Bissell Ave., Oil City, 16301.
