    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Merryman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5UC.2ACE/120.215.221.224 Message Board Post: Hello, I am a decendant of Joshua Merryman (1815-1857) & Sarah Beck (1826-?) and have kept the family history attempting to fill in many blank patches for the last 13 years. I can fill in some of the blanks on the family tree of the Merryman family of Clarion County that is posted in the previous messages. Joshua's son, Alvin Alexander Merryman was a farmer living in Piney Township, Clarion County. One of his children, William J. Merryman (1868-1903) died at such a young age of pnumonia that started with a bad cold. He worked for Standard Oil and had temporarily relocated to Bowling Green, OH. As it was told to me (and lated confirmed by newpaper obits I found) he contracted the cold and pnumonia while working during bad weather. His Wife, Arminta Whitmore (called "Mintie" by her friends) and young son, Harold Whitmore Merryman (1900-1960) returned home to Clarion county in the wake of William's death. Harold and Mintie are buried in Asbury Cemetary on rte 322 going past S! trattenville. Harold Whitmore Merryman Married Lulu Elvira McMillen on 8 May 1921, the union producing three sons: George Everett Merryman (b.1923), Robert Whitmore Merryman (1925-2004, this is my grandfather), and Harold Gray Merryman (1930-). My grandfather died Fabruary 7th of complications of congestive heart failure. I am trying to complete the work he helped me start when I was a kid with a growing curiousity about the family lineage. Robert W. Merryman married Charlotte I. Songer (b.1927) of Clarion at Immaculate Conception Church, Clarion, PA on 12 April 1948. They had two children: R. Dane Merryman (b.1950) and my mother, Charlotte A. Merryman (b.1954). There is much more information I have about children and siblings, but I wanted to illustrate the familial connection between myself and my ancestor, Joshua. The information I am looking for is about Joshua and Sarah Beck Merryman. Where did they come from? Where did they live? Who were their parents, siblings and friends? What was their occupation and education? Anyone with information on the "who, what, when, where and why" on the Merryman line first appearing in Clarion county, I ask you to please contact me by email: Michael_D_C@hotmail.com or by phone and leave me a message. I will return your call or email. Anyone calling me (724/229-0733) please state you are calling about family history research to make sure the information gets to me. Many thanks in advance! Michael D. C. Merryman
