Bish, 72, of Route 322, Brookville, wife of Willis F. Bish, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in Clarion Hospital. John M. 'Cable' Fedorek John M. "Cable" Fedorek, 90, of Somerdale, N.J., formerly of Oil City, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, in Virta-West Jersey Hospital, Voorhees, N.J. Born in March 1914 at 108 Clearfield St., Oil City, he was the son of Michael and Aniela Marki Fedorek, with a mid-wife assisting with the birth. Mr. Fedorek was a veteran of the Aleutian Campaign of World War II. He was the plant manager for United Steel Barrel Co. in South Philadelphia. Mr. Fedorek was married to the late Catherine Gallagher Fedorek. Surviving are a daughter, Sharon C. Swierczynski and husband, Paul, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Fedorek, of Somerdale, N.J. He also is survived by two brothers, Joseph M. Fedorek of Oil City and Stanley T. Fedorek of Cambridge Springs; and many nieces and nephews in the Oil City area. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Fedorek was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine M. Fedorek Schiffer and Josephine Fedorek Beightol; and five brothers, Joseph Fedorek, Frank M. Fedorek, Bert T. Fedorek, Anthony J. Fedorek and James A. Fedorek. Viewing was held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 35 White Horse Pike, Somerdale, N.J. Mass of Christian Burial followed at 7 p.m. in the church. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one's choice. Patricia B. Flinchbaugh Patricia B. Flinchbaugh, 69, of 207 E. Eighth St., Oil City, died at 6:35 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin, following a courageous battle with many health problems over a lengthy time. Born Oct. 26, 1934, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late William John and Emma Brown Bryan. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mrs. Flinchbaugh was employed for 21 years at Venango Newspapers. She started work in the advertising department and then transferred to the circulation department before she retired. She was a member of St. Stephen Church. Mrs. Flinchbaugh enjoyed bowling, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, horse racing and casinos. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Notre Dame fan. She especially enjoyed being with her husband, their home and many flowers. She enjoyed the basketball games in which her grandsons, Lee and John, participated, along with her granddaughters' singing, dancing and sporting events. She was very proud of her grandson Neil's scholastic and academic accomplishments. Mrs. Flinchbaugh's life saw numerous difficult health problems and she showed great strength, grace and courage in fighting off many challenges. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Emil Flinchbaugh, whom she married May 30, 1953. Also surviving are two sons, Steven Flinchbaugh and wife, Jill, of Oil City, and Gregory Flinchbaugh and wife, Karen, of Edinboro; three grandsons, Neil, Lee and John Flinchbaugh, all of Oil City; and three granddaughters, Samantha, Megan and Stephanie Flinchbaugh, all of Edinboro. She also is survived by five sisters, Betty Metzgar of Titusville, Ruth Gottschall of Michigan, Gerry Buser of Erie, and Jo Bryan and Peg Flinchbaugh, both of Oil City; one brother, William Bryan of New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Ronald Rockafellow of Oil City. Mrs. Flinchbaugh was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mabel Rockafellow and Mary Dudzic. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Stephen Church with the Rev. Jeffery J. Noble, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to St. Stephen Church, the American Heart Association or the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County. Clair R. Kime Clair R. Kime, 80, of Clarion, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin. Born Feb. 4, 1924, in York Springs, he was the son of Charles and Mary Kime. He was a Navy Corpsman for six years in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. Mr. Kime attended Duquesne University, the University of Hawaii and Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated with a degree in agricultural economics. Upon graduation, he was hired by Penn State and was either a student or an employee for 40 years. He retired from Penn State after serving as Clarion County's agricultural agent. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and never missed a game, either at Beaver Stadium or on television. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Kime helped organize and start the Farmers and Crafters Day held during the Autumn Leaf Festival. He had served for more than 20 years on the board of the Clarion Area Authority and currently was serving as chairman. Mr. Kime was active in the Presbyterian Church and had served as deacon. Surviving are his wife, Helen Ream Kime; and one son, John, of Indiana, Pa. Mr. Kime was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion with military rites scheduled at 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church, Wood Street, Clarion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Permanent Memorial Endowment Fund for the First Presbyterian Church or to the family to give to the shelter for the abused, a project Mr. Kime passionately supported. Eugene F. Walther Eugene F. Walther, 84, of 505 W. Sixth St., Oil City, died early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin. Born July 8, 1920, in Oil City, he was the son of Frank and Flora Walther. Hr was a 1938 graduate of Oil City High School. Mr. Walther worked from 1940 to 1944 at Oilwell Supply Co. He then entered the Navy in 1944 and was discharged in 1946. From 1946 to 1959, he was employed as data processor manager at Joy Manufacturing. Following his employment at Joy, he became manager of data processing at Quaker State Corp. from 1959 until his retirement in 1982. He attended many school for data processing manager. Mr. Walther was a member and elder of Second Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of American Legion Post No. 32, the Genealogy Club of Oil City and the Hollidaysburg Alumni Band. He also was a member of the Mostly Brass band. His love for music started at an early age. He played in many local dance bands in the 1940s and in the Carl Brozeski Band from 1950 to 1955. He was a member of the award winning American Legion Band. Mr. Walther was a former member of the Venango County Data Processing Committee when the Venango County vo-tech School was started. He also was a member of Trout Unlimited. He was married Jan. 17, 1942, to the former Sue Gilliland, who survives. They were married by the Rev. Arthur McCormack in Second Presbyterian Church. They celebrated 62 years of marriage this year. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Thomas Walther and wife, Barbara, of Warriors Mark; a daughter, Kathy Walther Moser and husband, Capt. Thomas G. Moser (retired), of Virginia Beach, Va.; and three grandchildren, Hank Walther of Washington, D.C., Kevin Moser of Los Angeles, Calif., and Meghan Moser of Virginia Beach, Va. Also surviving are three stepgrandchildren, Troy J. McCurdy and wife, Stacy, of Howard, Kirk I. McCurdy and wife, Stephanie, of Stockton, Calif., and Bradley O. McCurdy and wife, Anne, of Gulfport, Miss. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walther was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Paugh; and a nephew, Jon Paugh. There will be no visitation A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Second Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. The Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jeanne M. Williams Jeanne M. Williams, 79, of 2 Amberley Way, Lititz, died Monday, July 26, 2004, in Moravian Manor, 300 W. Lemon St., Lititz. Born May 30, 1925, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Elizabeth Kowal Mansfield. She was a 1943 graduate of Oil City High School. Mrs. Williams had been a resident of Lititz since 1959. She was a member of Lititz Moravian Church, where she had been a past secretary of the Board of Woman's Fellowship, and also was a past secretary of one of the circles at the church. She was a former member of the Lititz Woman's Club, the Lititz Historical Foundation, the Lancaster General Hospital Auxiliary and the Lititz Chapter of the A.B.C.D.'s. Mrs. Williams had been a volunteer at Moravian Manor and the Lititz Historical Museum. While a resident of Oil City, she was a member of the Belles Lettres Club and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was married to John R. Williams, who survives. They celebrated their 57th year of marriage on June 18. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son and his wife, John R. "Randy" and Carol Williams of Lititz; two daughters and their husbands, Susan J. and A. Ray Soule of Wilmington, N.C., and Amy R. and Robert E. Tucker of Midlothian, Va.; and five grandchildren. She also is survived by two sisters, Margaret M. Fletcher of Oil City and Vera Fleckenstein of Brook Park, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a brother, Harold J. Mansfield; a sister, Marion E. Johnston; and two grandsons, Andrew and Scott Soule. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lititz Moravian Church with the Rev. Richard Bruchard, church pastor, officiating. Schwab, Sligo Mary Rose Wattenford, Waldorf, Md., formerly of Franklin Donald L. Bailey, 76, of Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo, formerly of West Freedom, died at 12:04 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Clarion Hospital following an extended illness. Born June 17, 1928, in St. Benedict, he was the son of Sylvan and Gertrude Frampton Bailey, who preceded him in death. Mr. Bailey served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 5, 1950, to June 21, 1952. He was discharged with the rank of sergeant. He served with the 112th Infantry Regiment of the famed 28th Division, where he received the German Occupation Medal. Mr. Bailey was employed by C&K Coal Co. for a number of years and was later employed by the Senior Citizen Center at Rimersburg. He was a member of West Freedom United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 36 of Jersey Shore, Pa. Mr. Bailey was married Oct. 25, 1952, to the former Mabel Clawson, who preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1999. He is survived by two sons, George Brenton Bailey of Atlanta, Ga., and Joseph Bradley Bailey of Jersey Shore; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Yeager; and a brother, Robert Bailey. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be in West Freedom Cemetery. David Michael Bega, 52, of 3576 Georgetown Road, Polk, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in his residence. Born Nov. 8, 1951, he was the son of Genevieve DeFoggi and John Bega. He was a 1985 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earning a bachelor's of science degree in dietetics. He graduated from Slippery Rock University in 1992 with a master's of education in exercise science. Mr. Bega was in the U.S. Navy from 1972-1974, attaining the rank of second class petty officer. He was a dietician at Polk Center. He was a member of Nicklin United Methodist Church. Mr. Bega enjoyed eating, doing yard work and spending time with his many friends and family. He was proud of his military service as well as his Slovak and Italian heritage. He was married July 1, 1989, to Susan Christine Kronlokken, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Genevieve Bega of Butler; a daughter, Kimberly Bega at home; a sister, Marcia Thomas and her husband, Albert, of Butler; a niece, Sarah Thomas of Butler; and several extended family members and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father in 2002. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., Franklin. Joseph Wesley Coon, 77, of Kennerdell, died at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at UPMC Northwest, Franklin, where he was admitted on July 16, following an extended illness. Born July 31, 1926 in South Heights, Pittsburgh, he was the son of Frank W. and Florence A. Wright Coon. Mr. Coon attended New Kensington public schools. He retired from Cooper Energies of Grove City, where he worked in the molding department. He attended the Emmanuel Christian Church in Sandy Lake and was a member of the Chapel on the Hill in Emlenton. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren, as well as camping, hunting and fishing. Mr. Coon was married Aug. 26, 1944, to Ferne E. Hedglin, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Mrs. John "Janet F." Stanonis of Meadville, Mrs. Robert "Sandra J." Mills of Clarks Mills, Ms. Jody E. Woods of New Castle and Mr. Joe W. Coon Jr., and his wife, Robin, of Polk. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Daniel Coon of Greenville. Mr. Coon was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Gunther and Magdalene Angel; and two brothers, David and John Coon. "Buddy" Harbison, 57, of Tionesta and a resident of Beverly Health Care - Kinzua of Warren, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Beverly Health Care. Born June 12, 1947, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Eleanor "Ellie" Wolpert Harbison Sr. Mr. Harbison was married Oct. 24, 1987, in Moon Township to Martha Cuteri, who preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 2001. Surviving are a son, John Harbison and his wife, Jolene, of Clarion; two daughters, Tina Stahlman and her husband, Jeff, of New Bethlehem and Mary Lener and her husband, Jim, of Titusville; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles L. Harbison, Jr. and his fiancée , Lena Baker, of Missouri, James "Jimmy" Harbison of Wisconsin and Larry Harbison and his wife, Sis, of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Mary Darlene Pfister and her husband, Jim, of Wisconsin, Ceal Summerville and her husband, Ken, and Kim Wadlow and her husband, Pete, all of Endeavor; as well as several nieces and nephews. Schwab, 93, of Sligo, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, of natural causes at his son's home in Sligo. A complete obituary will be published Friday in The Derrick. Sally Van Tassel, 81, formerly of Franklin, died Wednesday morning, July 28, 2004, in the Coliseum Park Nursing Home in Hampton, Va., after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Born Jan. 12, 1923, in Fayette County, she was a daughter of Samuel Sage and Rose Sage McGlasson. She grew up in Dearborn, Mich., and later moved to Franklin, where she lived for 56 years. Mrs. Van Tassel was a medical receptionist for Dr. Mason Brown for several years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was married April 2, 1947, to Robert M. Van Tassel, who preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1983. Mrs. Van Tassel is survived by two sons, Tom and his wife, Barbara, of Austin, Texas, and Jim and his wife, Sherry, of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Christine Moody and her husband, John, of Hampton, Va.; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Van Tassel of North Richland Hills, Texas, Christopher and Jimmy Van Tassel of Salt Lake City, Allison Kines and Emily Cox of Newport News, Va., and Timothy Kines of Hampton, Va. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Tristen and Marley of Franklin, and India, Adein and Zander of Newport News, Va.; and a sister, Carolyn Sage of Dearborn, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin with the Rev. Mary Rose Bergin Wattenford, 60, a former Franklin resident, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at her home in Waldorf, Md., as the result of complications associated with her nine-month struggle with breast cancer. She was born Dec. 11, 1943, at Franklin Hospital. She received her elementary education at St. Patrick Grade School and graduated from Franklin High School in 1961. She also received an associate degree in business administration from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh in 1963 and then moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the FBI for four years. She was married Nov. 30, 1968, in St. Patrick Church, Franklin, to Mylo Wattenford, who survives. After the wedding, the couple briefly lived in Minneapolis and then moved back to the Franklin area from 1971 to 1989. In the Franklin area, Mrs. Wattenford worked at Joy Manufacturing Co. as an administrative assistant and for Thrift Drug Store. Her husband was employed as a data center supervisor with Pennzoil Co. in Oil City. The couple also served as foster parents to a number of area children during their time in Franklin. In 1989, they moved to Waldorf, a suburb of Washington, when Mr. Wattenford accepted a position at the U.S. Department of Labor and Mrs. Wattenford became the assistant manager of the Family Christian Bookstore in Waldorf. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wattenford is survived by three children, John and Michael of Waldorf and Karen Merchant of La Plata, Md.; a brother, Edward J. Bergin of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and a grandchild, Benjamin Merchant of La Plata. Family and friends were received Wednesday at the Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf. Funeral services will be held today at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Waldorf. Interment will be at Cheltenham Veteran's Cemetery in Cheltenham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Mrs. Wattenford's name to the Neurofibromatosis Foundation, 8855 Annapolis Road, Suite 110, Lanham, Md., 20706.
