Ruthann Baughman, getting it right Richard "Dick" Eugene Aiken Richard "Dick" Eugene Aiken, 56, of 920 15th St., Franklin, died at 3:10 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. He died from injuries received earlier that day in an industrial accident at his workplace, the Joy Manufacturing plant on Liberty Street in Franklin. Born Jan. 31, 1949, in Franklin, he was a son of Richard F. and Ruth Steele Aiken. Mr. Aiken was a Vietnam veteran and served as a specialist-four in the motorpool, U.S. Army, at Fort Lewis, Wash. He had worked for Joy Manufacturing for more than 35 years. Mr. Aiken was a member of the VFW Post, the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Lodge and the PNA in Oil City. He enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows, camping and the company of his good friends. Surviving in addition to his mother are three children, Eric Aiken of Franklin, Tammy Rodgers and her husband, Michael, of Franklin, and Kelly Miller and her husband, Jason, of Franklin; two sisters, Paula Harrah of Franklin and Sherry Aiken of Franklin; two grandchildren, Colton "C.J." Miller of Franklin and Peyton Miller of Franklin; his ex-wife, Joyce Aiken of Franklin; a special friend, Pamela Baker of Franklin; two nephews, Jeffrey Aiken and his wife, Kristen, of Murrysville and Shawn Harrah and his wife, Vickie, of Saucier, Mich.; a great-nephew, Jarrett Aiken of Murrysville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death were his father; a brother, Charles Aiken; his paternal grandparents, Frank Aiken and Anna Cramer; and his maternal grandparents, Gladys and Paul Steele. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Small, pastor of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice. Tina Marie Lewis Tina Marie Lewis, 45, of Liberty Street, Franklin, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at UPMC Northwest Hospital in Cranberry Township. Born Nov. 30, 1959, in Clarion, she was the daughter of Albert Monroe and Zoe Anna Fox Johnson. Ms. Lewis was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Larry Lewis of Venango County; her mother, Zoe Johnson of Clarion; four brothers, Gerald Edward Johnson of Erie, Robert Monroe Johnston of Littlestown, Richard Leroy Johnson of Brookville, and George William Johnson of Aurora, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her father preceded her in death. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. The Rev. David Selleck will officiate. Edith McColl Pancoast Edith McCool Pancoast, 41, of 918 Cooperstown Road, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, in her home. Born Oct. 4, 1963, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Clarence and Sarah Matteson McCool. She was married Nov. 10, 2003, to Brian Pancoast who survives. Mrs. Pancoast was employed as the office manager for the tour bus company Go Gordo in Florida. She enjoyed her little pond filled with goldfish and spending time with her daughter Alexis, her family and her friends. Mrs. Pancoast was a NASCAR fan and her favorite driver was Bobby Labonte. She also liked going out on the river on the pontoon boat. Surviving in addition to her husband are her parents; a daughter, Alexis McCool of Cooperstown; two brothers, Ron McCool and his wife, Liz, of Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Jeff McCool of Oil City; three sisters, Sarah Resinger and her husband, Grant, of Cooperstown, Karen Adams and her husband, Chris, of Dempseytown, and Ruth Bickel and her husband John of Guys Mills; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence McCool Jr., and a nephew, Michael Stevenson. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Robert W. Interment will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Trust Fund for Alexis McCool at Northwest Savings Bank. Harry L. "Dutch" Shuffstall Harry L. "Dutch" Shuffstall, 74, of River Ranch, Fla., a native of Franklin, died Thursday evening, March 31, 2005, in his home in Florida. Born July 1, 1930, in Franklin, he was the son of Harry L. Shuffstall Sr. and May F. Mahleder. He graduated from Rocky Grove High School. Mr. Shuffstall was employed as a machinist at Joy Mining Machinery for 34 years, retiring in 1992 as manager of the chain plant. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City and the River Ranch Chapel in Florida. Mr. Shuffstall belonged to the Franklin Elks, the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He was a past president of the Franklin Club. He was very instrumental in the lighting of the Miller Sibley Little League Field. Mr. Shuffstall enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and especially his family and grandchildren. He was married on June 4, 1949, to the former Wanda J. Mackell who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Diane Johnson of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; three sons, John Shuffstall and his wife, Krista, of Pompano Beach, Fla., Jeff Shuffstall and his wife, Dana, of Oil City, and Philip Shuffstall of Emlenton; a brother, Robert Shuffstall and his wife, Cindy, of Franklin; a sister, Rosalie Lesh and her husband, Byron, of Livingston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Shawnee Shuffstall. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City. The Rev. Howard S. Gaston, pastor of the church, will officiate. Getting it right Ruthann Baughman, 79, formerly of 97 Beech Drive in Franklin who died March 31 in Sugar Creek Station, is survived by nine grandchildren, including Jared Baughman of Hermitage.
