    3. The Derrick, April 21, 2005: James R. Alex, Seneca Mary Sutherland Anderson, Warren, formerly of Franklin Margaret C. McKee, of East Brady, John Uzmack Jr., Mulberry, Fla., formerly of Knox James R. Alex James R. Alex, 73, of Seneca, died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Jan. 30, 1932, in Oil City, he was the son of Edward and Dorothy McQueeney Alex. Mr. Alex attended the Cranberry Area Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed from 1950 to 1953 in Washington, D.C. Mr. Alex was employed as a truck driver for Lyons Transportation in Reno, retiring in 1990 after 28 years of service. After his retirement, he worked as a courier for U.S. Cargo, retiring in February of this year. He was a member of the Oil City Eagles, the Pulaski Club and the PNA of Oil City. Mr. Alex enjoyed reading, playing cards, woodworking and the companionship of his beloved pet dog, "Mattie." He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Alex was married in Oil City June 22, 1955, to the former Donna Vogan, who survives. Also surviving are four children, William J. Alex and wife, Chris, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Christina E. Alex and Scott E. Alex, both of Seneca, and Stephanie D. (Alex) Morgan and husband, Jeffrey, of Cranberry; six grandchildren, Darrell J. Alex and Killian L. Alex, both of Fort Walton Beach, Jenifer L. Alex of Virginia, Ashley N. Alex of Hickory, N.C., Timothy J. Alex and wife, Heather, of Seneca and Michael S. Alex of Seneca; four stepgrandchildren, Kyle W. Morgan of Cranberry, Jeremy E. Morgan of North Carolina, Kendra Tracy and Steven Tracy, both of Fort Walton Beach; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler J. Alex, Trinity R. Alex, Isiah Alex, Jakob Alex and Ethan Alex. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Route 257, Seneca, Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. John Hickman, pastor of the Fertigs United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Township, Venango County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 447, Seneca, 16346; the Pinegrove Volunteer Fire Department, 2369 Route 157, Oil City, 16301; the Visiting Nurses Association, 176 E. Bissell Ave., Oil City, 16301; or to a charity of one's choice. Mary Sutherland Anderson Mary Sutherland Anderson, 88, of Warren, Pa., formerly of Franklin, sister of Grace S. Mortimer of Franklin, died Monday, April 18, 2005, in Warren. Margaret C. McKee Margaret C. McKee, 87, of East Brady, died Tuesday night, April 19, 2005, in Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford after an ongoing illness. Born Aug. 18, 1917, in Worthington, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Anna Bowser Earley. Mrs. McKee was a member of the East Brady United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Her husband, Frank McKee, preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Missie) McKee-Burford of Mars; one grandson, Andrew Burford; and two granddaughters, Terri Rounelias and Penny McKee. She also is survived by two sisters, Anna Belle Downing of East Brady and Ramona Painter of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Harry "Hedge" Earley of Canonsburg and Francis "Twidge" Earley of West Chester; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by a sister, Rose McElravy; two brothers, Lewis Earley and Roy L. Earley; and a son, Gordon McKee. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker, and from noon to 2 p.m. Friday in the East Brady United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Richard Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Scrubgrass Cemetery. John Uzmack Jr. John Uzmack Jr., 37, of Mulberry, Fla., a former resident of Knox, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at his residence. Born Sept. 18, 1967, in Lakeland, Fla., he was the son of John Uzmack Sr. and Myrna Uzmack. Mr. Uzmack had lived in Mulberry for 13 years, moving there from Knox. He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and had worked as a turbine mechanic. Mr. Uzmack was a member of the Refuge Church of God in Highland City, Fla. Surviving are his mother, Myrna Uzmack of Mulberry, Fla.; three sisters, Lisa Reichart of Naperville, Ill., and Julie Nelson and Carole Uzmack, both of Lakeland, Fla.; and a nephew, Austin Reichart of Naperville, Ill. He also is survived by his grandmother, Magdalean Stroud of Bartow, Fla.; and several aunts and uncles. Arrangements are in charge of the Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow, Fla.
