(not Germany), was a son of Andrew Girts (1786/87 - 19 Mar. 1861, Highland Twp., Clarion Co.) & Jane. Andrew was probably born in Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA, and was a son of Henry Girts & Margaret, who moved from Westmoreland Co. to Armstrong Co. sometime after 1802 or so. Henry was in Red Bank Twp., Armstrong Co., possibly the part of Red Bank that was shifted to Clarion Co. in 1839. Henry Girts was a son of Herman/Harmon Girts & Rachel -- Herman died in 1793 in Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co. I have more info on the GIRTS family.
