But, that may have been due to communication between the Winkler's and the census taker. Another possibility is that Sylvestor died and Sebastion married and took on the responsibility of his brother's wife. This is pure speculation on my part. Look at the age of Slyvester/Sebastion's wife. Ages on the children on the 1850 and 1860 census is screwy. 1850 census Slyvester Winkler 44, wife Kunikunda 36, children Anna 8, John 5, George 3. 1860 census Sebastion Wingler 52, Wife Coney 46, Children: John 18, Ann 15, Leah 10, George 5. 1870 census Sebastion Winkler 62, Wife Jane 56. Next house is John Winkler 28, wife Sarah 23 and son Jacob 6/12. Also, Anna named one of her children Sebastion. Some have it that she named one of them Sylvestor too. 1880 Census elk, Clarion PA Anna 33 and Adam 35 Hartzell children: David 6, Jane13, son Sebastion 5, Edward 11. Margaret 3, Clara 1 Sarah 10 Kunikunda seems to be picking names that's easier for other people to say. Hope this helps you. If anyone can expand on this, please help.
