Fourth St., Oil City Jami Marie Ruhlman Horsfall, Roy, Utah, formerly of Seneca Ivan Clair Huffman, Mayport RD 1 Brian C. Jones Sr., Hydetown Grace E. Marshall, Irwin, formerly of Rocky Grove B. Louise Reckner, Karns City, formerly of Emlenton Kern T. "Dale" Smith Sr., 940 E. Main St., Titusville Helen Irene Dehner Helen Irene Dehner, 89, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-Oil City, died at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. She formerly resided on Pennsylvania Avenue and Towne Towers, Oil City. Born Oct. 15, 1915, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Fred J. and Florence I. Nelson Kuhls. Mrs. Dehner was a 1933 graduate of Oil City High School and a 1937 graduate of Feller's Beauty School. She worked as a beautician, had worked in the meat department of Loblaw's and as a door greeter at Morrison Funeral Home. She was a 50-year member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she had been secretary of the Kindergarten Department for 12 years, a member of the Hope Circle and the Women's Society of the church. She had also been a member of the Oil City YWCA. On July 15, 1939, she was married to Vaughn A. Dehner, who died Feb. 17, 1975. Surviving are two sons, Robert "Bob" Dehner of Cypress Lake, La., and James A. Dehner of Oil City; two daughters, Sue Ann Miller of Sandy Lake and Diane Lynn Weaver of Oil City; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a special daughter, Nancy Wilson of California. She also is survived by a brother, Ralph F. Kuhls of Reno; and a sister, Elsie R. Anthony of Tippery. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth M. Gaddess, and a granddaughter. Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held in Grace United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Byron K. Myers, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery. Orville O. Ditzenberger Orville O. Ditzenberger, 82, of 585 Buttermilk Hill Road, Franklin (Sugarcreek Township), died at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla., following a brief illness. Born March 5, 1922, in Franklin, he was a son of George A. and Blanche O'Neil Ditzenberger. He was a Franklin High School graduate, and a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army-Air Corps. Mr. Ditzenberger retired from Chicago Pneumatic Tool of Franklin after 38 years of service. He was a Protestant. Mr. Ditzenberger was a former member of the Rainbow Beagle Club, Erie. While in Florida he enjoyed shuffleboarding. He was a real family man and enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He married Helen M. Reed June 4, 1943, and she survives at home. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Elaine) Hedglin of Grove City; three sons, George A. Ditzenberger and wife Mary of Transfer; Jerry R. Ditzenberger and wife Pat of Sandy Lake and A. Neil Ditzenberger and wife Pam of Franklin; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a very special friend, Giles Bailey of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Leora "Lolly" Hall. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Roy M. "Mike" Daugherty, a retired United Methodist minister and family friend, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park. Grove City. Richard J. Guyton Richard J. Guyton, 88, formerly of 210 West Fourth St., died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Susi and George Ingham, 309 West First St., Oil City, after an extended illness. Born Nov. 27, 1916, in Oil City, he was a son of the late James and Madeline Karg Guyton. Mr. Guyton attended Oil City schools. He was employed by Struthers Well in Titusville and retired from the Continental Can Co., Oil City. He was a member of St. Stephen Church where he sang in the all-male choir the church had years ago. Mr. Guyton was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing with his brother, Joe Guyton, and putting on floor shows with brothers Joe and John. He loved dancing with his wife to all the big band sounds and traveled locally to wherever they might be performing. Mr. Guyton was married to June Audine Bannon Sept. 15, 1937. She preceded him in death on Good Friday, April 20, 1984. He is survived by five children, Sandy Goreczny and husband John of Rouseville; Dick Guyton of Erie; Susi Ingham and husband George of Oil City; Jim Guyton and wife Judy of Oil City; and Bob Guyton and wife Loleta of Fairless Hills; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one sister, Esther Cotter of Oil City; one brother, John Guyton of Erie; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Gloria Guyton, and a grandson, Mark A. Goreczny, both in 1973; one sister, Mary Fritz of Oil City; and two brothers, Joseph A. Guyton of Oil City and the Rev. James C. Guyton, CSSR of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Reinsel Funeral Home, Oil City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Church, Oil City, with Msgr. William C. Karg presiding. He will be assisted by the Rev. John Neff. Jami Marie Ruhlman Horsfall Jami Marie Ruhlman Horsfall, 26, of Roy, Utah, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Ogden Regional Hospital. Born May 10, 1978, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Brian K. and Vicki M. Winkler Ruhlman. Mrs. Horsfall was raised in Seneca, graduating from Cranberry High School. While in high school she tutored children. She received her associates degree from Rick's College. Mrs. Horsfall had a big heart and was full of kindness and giving. She was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a hand. She married Christopher Jason Horsfall April 3, 1998, in Washington D.C. They moved to Roy, Utah, in 1999. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. Horsfall worked with the Humane Society and other animal adoption agencies. She loved playing sports and enjoyed crocheting, music and singing. She is survived by her husband, Chris; a son, Ethan, and a daughter, Alexandra; her parents, Brian and Vicki Ruhlman of Clarksburg, W. Va.; a brother, Brenton Ruhlman of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Heidi (Tony) Sass of Fuquay Varina, N.C.; and Kristen (Andy) Mahle of Killeen, Texas; her parents-in-law, Frank and Susan Horsfall of Mont-Sur-Rolle, Switzerland; and her grandparents, Shirley Winkler of Franklin, and David Ruhlman of Franklin. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Clarence Winkler, and a grandmother, Agnes Ruhlman. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1449 Thompson Road, Franklin. Born Sept. 21, 1925, in Armstrong County, he was a son of Earl and Sarah Jane Atherton Huffman. Mr. Huffman was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, Fairmount City. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. Mr. Huffman was married Feb. 1, 1958, to the former Patty J. Young, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Randy Huffman and his wife, Barbara, of Texas, and Mark Huffman of Mayport RD 1; two daughters, Eunice Shreffler and her husband, Karl, of Nickelville, and Karen Bunch and her husband, Craig, of Texas; one sister, Genevieve Umstead of Penfield; and one brother, John Huffman, of Dayton. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Brandy Bunch, Wendy Bunch, Amber Rae Bunch, Danielle Goheen and Shannan Goheen; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Street. Interment will follow in Mudlic Cemetery, Armstrong County. Brian C. Jones Sr. Brian C. Jones Sr., 57, of Hydetown, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in Meadville Medical Center. Born April 24, 1947, in Titusville, he was the son of Raymond and Maxine Vandervort Jones. Mr. Jones was a 1965 graduate of Townville High School. He was owner of Jones Construction and previously was employed as project estimator by Devore Construction in Meadville and also as field superintendent by M.C. Strickland & Son Construction in Oil City. Mr. Jones had attended the Lyona Bible Church. He was a member of the local Carpenters Union. Mr. Jones enjoyed riding his horse "Blaze," fishing and hunting and especially spoiling his grandchildren. He was married to Amy Pearce June 26, 1965, at the Highway Open Bible Tabernacle. She survives. Also surviving are his parents of Titusville; two sons, Brian C. Jones, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Townville and Jeffrey A. Jones and wife, Sallianne, of Townville; a daughter, Shari Carpenter and husband, Mark, of Spring Creek; 11 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jo Pearce of Titusville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce A. Jones and his father-in-law, Richard E. Pearce. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Marshall, 87, a former resident of Rocky Grove, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Golden Heights Personal Care Home in Irwin, Pa., where she received excellent care. Mrs. Marshall was born Jan. 29, 1917. She and her husband, Herschel R. Marshall, resided on Front Street and Gilfillan Street in Rocky Grove for 30 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Rocky Grove Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Marshall is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Dennis Gilmore of Monroeville; three cherished granddaughters, Karen (Ron) Graham of Monroeville, Denine (Glen) Sanders of Grove City and Kristen (Craig) Fagan of Hampton, Va.; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob Charles and Megan Lynn Graham, and Zane Edward, Logan Rae, Mackenzi Ann and Cordell Dennis Sanders. Also surviving are a sister, Margaret Wargo and her husband, John; two brothers, Ralph McCombs and Jack McCombs and his wife, Carol; three sisters-in-law, Ruth McCombs, Betty McCombs and Dorothy McCombs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband and an infant great-grandson, Alston Marshall Sanders. A celebration of life memorial service, officiated by Dr. Howard Newman, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Monroeville. Mrs. Marshall was cremated and her ashes will be entombed in Jefferson Memorial Park, Lebanon Church Road, Jefferson Borough. Louise Reckner, 65, of Karns City, formerly of Emlenton, died at 2:48 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, in the emergency room of Clarion Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1940, in Anoree, S.C., she was the daughter of Wade D. and Ruth W. Ball Thomas. Following her late husband's military service, the couple entered the ministry and pastored churches in Port Allegany, St. Petersburg and Martinsburg, W.Va. Mrs. Reckner was a member of the Butler Church of the Nazarene. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the home shopping network. Mrs. Reckner was married in Aiken, S.C., July 17, 1959, to the Rev. Edward T. Reckner, who died Nov. 28, 2001. Surviving are two sons, Edward James Reckner and Orville W. "Bud" Reckner and wife, Jennie, all of Karns City; two daughters, Brenda Lee and husband, M.Sgt. Patrick Guillet of Fort Hood, Texas, and Helen Ruth Roxby of Parker, with whom she most recently made her home; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Wilbur (M. Carolyn) Swetman of Martinez, Ga.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery, Confluence. Kern T. "Dale" Smith Sr. Kern T. "Dale" Smith Sr., 66, of 940 E. Main St., Titusville, died at 12:29 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, in Titusville Area Hospital shortly after his arrival there. Born Feb 24, 1938, in Erie, he was the son of the late Thomas I. and Gertrude Riewaldt Smith. He attended Corry area schools. Mr. Smith was a veteran of Vietnam, serving two tours of duty during his 21-year career in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1979. During that time he was an airplane mechanic and obtained his college degree through the service. Mr. Smith was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. He formerly was employed by the Cherry Hill Division of Ethan Allen in Union City and with Cooper Energy in Corry. He was a self-employed painter in the Titusville area for 10 years until his retirement. Mr. Smith was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Titusville and a life member of the Bruce Shorts Post No. 5958, VFW. He enjoyed reading. He married Marjorie Carnrike Dec. 1, 1972, in Titusville. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Vicky Millard and husband, Douglas, and Lora Lamb, both of Oil City; one son, Kern T. Smith Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Titusville; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers; and 13 sisters. Mr. Smith was preceded in death his parents and one brother.
