Yarmer, Stanford, Ky., formerly of Brookville Lillian M. Swineford, Summerville Wilbur C. Beebe Wilbur C. Beebe, 87, of 562 Pacific St., Franklin, died at 7:06 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born March 21, 1917, in Franklin, he was the son of Pearl Serena Mears. Mr. Beebe attended Franklin public schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Beebe was employed in the maintenance and heat treatment departments of Franklin Steel. He retired after 31 years of service. He enjoyed time spent with his family, camping, playing cards, dominos and woodworking. Mr. Beebe was married March 23, 1940, to the former Dorothy L. Austin, who died Aug. 8, 1990. Surviving are a son, Wilbur C. Beebe Jr. and wife, Roseanne, of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Dottie VanWormer and husband, William, of Gibsonia; six grandchildren, Cynthia Engel of Oil City, Joseph Engel and wife, Rose, of Bothell, Wash., Alice Engel of Cranston, R.I., Karen Beebe of Virginia Beach, Va., William Beebe and wife, Ann, of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Christopher VanWormer of Gibsonia; three stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, Hannah Engel of Oil City, Lorraine Engel of Bothell, Wash., David Engel, Roger Forsythe and Gordon Forsythe, all of Cranston, R.I., and Benjamin Beebe of Wadsworth, Ohio; and a close friend, Pat Sires of Franklin. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Beebe was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Engel; two brothers, Glenn and Kenneth; and two sisters, Iva and Dorothy. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Clark of the Chapel on the Hill, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Ada Hanst Ada Hanst, 90, of Lamartine, died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 13, 2005, in Clarion Hospital following a short illness. Arrangements are incomplete and are in charge of the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Knox. James L. 'Jim' Kee Sr. James L. "Jim" Kee Sr., 85, of 13725 N. Perry Road, Titusville, who worked as a carpenter in home construction, father of Frank P. Kee Sr. and wife, Stella, of Franklin, who operate a personal care home in Oil City, died at 12:24 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie. Harold William Kriebel Harold William Kriebel, 81, of Perryville Road, Parker, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at his residence. The Varner Funeral Home in Sligo is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Tuesday in The Derrick. Adelia A. Lawson Adelia A. Lawson, 77, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-Oil City, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Aug. 27, 1927, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Harold and Helen Pritchard Riffenberg. Mrs. Lawson was of the Catholic faith. She was a devoted grandmother who loved her grandchildren and was an avid bird watcher who loved observing and raising birds. She enjoyed bingo. Mrs. Lawson was married Feb. 4, 1944, to Harold L. Lawson, who died in 1995. Surviving are seven children, Harold Larry Lawson and wife, Amy, and James E. Lawson and wife, Diane, all of Oil City, Mrs. Donald (Gloria "Sis") Parry of Denver, Colo., Mrs. James (Joyce) Rodebaugh of Polk, Nancy Hiem of Kennerdell, Mrs. Jerry (Sandra) Russell of Melbourne, Fla., and Mrs. Denny (Peggy) Frankenberger of Rouseville; a son-in-law, Larry Hiem of Titusville; 28 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Mary Jane Whitling of Kennerdell. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by infant twin grandsons; a grandson, Randy Hewston; one brother, "Bus" Pritchard; and one sister, Helen. McDeavitt, 69, of Tionesta, formerly of Greenville, mother of Robert Neal Williams of Oil City and wife of Arthur McDeavitt at home, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, in Titusville Area Hospital. She and her husband owned and operated several Country Fair franchises in Meadville, Cochranton and Edinboro. Mary C. Murphy Mary C. Murphy, 66, of 9 Wabash Ave., Oil City, died at 11:43 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh. Born Jan. 2, 1939, in Knox, she was the daughter of John E. Murphy Sr., and Anna Mae Hutchison Murphy. She attended the Oil City schools and had lived in the Oil City area most of her life. Miss Murphy had worked at the Venango Training & Development Center for a number of years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Oil City and had 41 years of perfect attendance at Sunday School. Surviving are three brothers, John Edward Murphy and James K. Murphy, both of Oil City, and Donald P. Murphy of Bangor, Maine; one sister and her husband, Joyce and Carl Sargent of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Murphy was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard D. Murphy Sr., William Murphy and an infant, Robert Murphy. Stover Nelson, 83, of 10 Vo-Tech Drive, Oil City, died at 1:59 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born June 21, 1921, in Oil City, she was the daughter of Nelson E. and Hazel V. Graham Stover. She was a graduate of Oil City High School and had lived in the Oil City area most of her life. Mrs. Nelson worked for the Goss family as a young woman and later moved to Meadville where she worked at the Viscose Co. She was a member of the Church of God. Mrs. Nelson enjoyed playing bingo. She was married in Erie Dec. 6, 1942, to Frank William Nelson, who preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Janice Lynn Nelson Castrillo of Ravenna, Ohio; and a granddaughter and husband, Lynelle and Pete Fenner of Rome, Ohio. She also is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Churchill of Bremerton, Wash., Betty Douglas and husband, Paul, of Rock Hill, S.C., and Hazel Ralph and husband, William, of Franklin; and two brothers, Arthur N. Stover and wife, Phyllis M.. of Oil City and Robert Stover of Kennerdell. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Joseph Reyner Joseph Reyner, 74, of Beltsville, Md., died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Springs, Md. Born Dec. 25, 1930, in Oil City, he was the son of Lloyd L. and Mary Elizabeth Tingley Reyner. He was a college graduate and worked for Bell Telephone Co. in Maryland as a computer technician. Mr. Reyner was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and the College Park, Md., Moose Club and was an exalted ruler of the Elks in Woodridge, N.J. Surviving are seven children, Robert Reyner of Brick, N.J., Catherine Reyner-Lane of Carteret, N.J., Diane Lee of Azle, Texas, Jodi Massare of Spotswood, N.J., Joseph H. Reyner II of Manville, N.J., Joan Amodeo of Butler and James Reyner of Carteret, N.J.,; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a nephew, William Ban of Marienville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reyner was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ban and Eunice Bellington. Schmader Jr. Stephen J. Schmader Jr., 55, of Polk Center, formerly of Lucinda, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 13, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born May 27, 1949, in Lucinda, he was the son of Stephen J. Schmader Sr. and Ruth Schill Schmader. Mr. Schmader enjoyed music, community outings and sweets. His personality was so special he always will be remembered by those who knew him. Surviving are four sisters, Karen Becker and husband, Robert, of Lucinda, Carol Tressler of Meyersdale, Mary Watkins and husband, Russell, of Bonaire, Ga., and Jane Minich and husband, Jeffrey, of Lucinda; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends at Polk Center. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Borland Funeral Home Inc. in Leeper. "Betty" Snyder, 84, of 508 North St., Oil City, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at her home following an extended illness. Born Nov. 4, 1920, in Oil City, she was the daughter of William and Clara Dunkle Hefren. She was a 1938 graduate of Oil City High School. Mrs. Snyder was a homemaker. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, reading and baking. She was married in St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Kenmore, N.Y., May 14, 1945, to Harry "Jack" Snyder, who died April 28, 1955. Surviving are three children, Joan L. Fridmann and husband, Richard, of East Aurora, N.Y., David J. Snyder of Lakewood, Colo., and Mary E. Robertson and husband, James, of Oil City; three grandchildren, Michele R. Harkiewicz and husband, Gary, of Strykersville, N.Y., Joel Fridmann of Tallahassee, Fla., and Justice Gibson of Oil City; and one great-grandchild. She also is survived by three nieces, Sanda Maciejewski and husband, John, Barbara Kacmarek and husband, Edwin, and Mary Pat Mulqueen, all of Buffalo, N.Y.; and one nephew, Arden V. "Bud" Hefren Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by a son, Joseph H. Snyder in October 1990; four siblings, Lawanda Kelly, Arden Hefren, Verla Ellis and Bernadine Leydecker; and a good friend, Frank Knapp. There will be no viewing or visitation. Private services will take place at the convenience of the family. The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Gregory William Spanberger Gregory William Spanberger, 43, of Connelly Springs, N.C., formerly of Franklin, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, N.C. Born May 18, 1961, in Franklin, he was the son of Mary Jo Shaw Spanberger, who resides in Harrisville. Mr. Spanberger helped build houses. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Suzanne Baker of Connelly Springs, N.C.; three daughters, Shelly Baker of Hickory, N.C., and Amber Baker and Kimberly Baker, both of Connelly Springs, N.C.; two stepdaughter, Bobbie Jo Bristol of Glenn Alpine, N.C., and Paula Hullett of Hickory, N.C.; and eight grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Randy Shaw of Lenoir, N.C.; and two sisters, Marsha Johnson and Stacy Reisenger, both of Pennsylvania. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Royal Chapel Church of God in Hickory, N.C., with Pastor Harold Jones officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
