    3. The Derrick, May 12, 2005: Mary Avanell Barlett, 92 Penn St., New Bethlehem Geraldine Sutley Barnett, Pearl Street, West Hickory Gage Austin Fink, 33 Gilfillan St., Franklin Agnes R. Marron, Rochester, N.Y., formerly of Oil City Norma J. Lewis Porter, Sandy Lake Mary Avanell Barlett Mary Avanell Barlett, 92, of 92 Penn St., New Bethlehem, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at her residence. Born May 14, 1912, in Alcola, she was the daughter of Frank and Lula Crawford Bish. Mrs. Barlett was a member of New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Barlett was married April 15, 1933, to Clair Thomas Barlett, who died March 12, 2001. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Delores) Wiant of Wayne and Betty Lou Wright of New Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Kevin Wiant, Cheryl Ballentine, Jeff Wright and wife, Kathy, and Melanie Boozer and husband, Ron; six great-grandchildren, Matt Boozer, Mindy Rizzo and husband, Ben, Macie Boozer, Cali Wright, Caitlin Wright and Kimberly Ballentine; and a great-great-grandchild, Paiton Rizzo. She also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Homer (Leone) Byerly of Summerville, Mrs. Jay (Grace) Shaffer of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Carl (Kay) Doverspike of Ringgold; and a brother, Robert Bish and wife, Carol, of Fairmount City. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Barlett was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Donald Bish; and three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Trudie) Baker, Mrs. Walter (Josephine) Kiehl and Mrs. Thomas (Evelyn) Sayers. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Hartsfield of New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Leatherwood Presbyterian Cemetery, Porter Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice. Geraldine Sutley Barnett Geraldine Sutley Barnett, 84, of Pearl Street, West Hickory, died Wednesday morning, May 11, 2005, in the Rouse Warren County Home, Youngsville, after an extended illness. Born Nov. 11, 1920, in Rocky Grove, she was the daughter of Henry and Ethel May Albaugh Brady and had lived in West Hickory her entire life. She was a 1938 graduate of Hickory Township Schools. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Barnett had worked at the former White Nursing Home in Tidioute and also worked for 19 years at the Blair New Process Co. of Warren. She was a member of the West Hickory United Methodist Church. Mrs. Barnett loved to read. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Barnett of West Hickory; a son, Charles E. Barnett of Mifflintown; and two grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Brady, and her adoptive parents, Earl and Irene Emert Sutley. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the West Hickory United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. Thomas Topar, pastor of the Tidioute and Tionesta United Methodist Churches, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Collins Cemetery, Tionesta. The family suggests memorials be made to the West Hickory United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the West Hickory Volunteer Fire Department. Gage Austin Fink Gage Austin Fink, 9-week-old son of Nathan Speer and Jennifer Fink of Franklin, died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh. The infant was a member of St. Patrick Church. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are paternal grandparents, Shelly Flickner and husband, William, of Franklin; maternal grandparents, Lisa Garris and husband, Sherman "Bob," of Franklin and Jeffrey and Cathy Fink of Franklin; maternal great-grandparents, Patricia McFarland of Polk, Gerald and Barbara Garris, James and Catherine Fink and Donna Musser and Richard Gonzales, all of Franklin; and great-great-grandparents, Lucille McFarland of Van, May C. Garris of Franklin and Dorothy Dietrich of Hegins; and many aunts and uncles. Preceding him in death were two maternal great-grandfathers, Arnold McFarland and Marlin Musser. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick Church with Msgr. John J. Marron, 90, of Rochester, N.Y., a former Oil City resident, died at 11 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2005, in St. John Home, Rochester. Born April 22, 1915, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John and Agnes Sherman Banner. She was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mrs. Marron had worked for Bell Telephone and the White Hat Shop. While living in Oil City, she was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Rosary Society of the church. She also was a charter member of the Prime Timers. Mrs. Marron was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. She was married in St. Joseph Church Nov. 15, 1937, to John J. Marron, who preceded her in death in 1986. Surviving are one son, James Marron of Rochester, N.Y.; two grandchildren, John Marron and wife, Amy, of Rochester, N.Y., and Tom Marron and wife, Sheryl, of Buffalo, N.Y.; and six great-grandchildren, Thomas John (TJ), Nathan, Nicholas, Sarah, Sydney and Annalise. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Marron was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Banner; and two sisters, Ethel Roberts and Helen Lorenz. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church with Msgr. John W. Swoger, pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 176 E. Bissell Ave., Oil City, 16301, the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Norma J. Lewis Porter Norma J. Lewis Porter, 82, of 4198 Mercer St., Sandy Lake, New Lebanon Borough, died at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, after a brief illness. Born Dec. 19, 1922, in New Lebanon, she was the daughter of John E. and Mollie T. Craig Rupert. She was a graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School. During World War II, Mrs. Porter worked at Talon in Meadville. She also had worked for Crouser's Dairy Isle of Cochranton and for many years at Grantham's Dairy Isle of New Lebanon. Mrs. Porter was of the Protestant faith. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening and her family, especially her grandchildren. Her first husband, Pierce E. "Dick' Lewis, preceded her in death. She then was married April 10, 1959, to Harry G. Porter, who died Aug. 11, 2004. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thomas L. (Sherry) Wiand of Stoneboro, Kathy A. Lewis of Sandy Lake and Mrs. Thomas J. (Pamela) Liberatore of Churchton, Md.; one son, Edward A. Lewis of Sandy Lake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Stella Rupert of Sandy Lake. In addition to her parents and two husbands, Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Rupert, Clair Rupert and Charles "Pete" Rupert. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Richard C. Steinlechner, pastor of the New Lebanon Community Church, officiating. Interment and committal services will be held in the New Lebanon Cemetery, Mill Creek Township.
