THANKS for your service. Sorry I am slow in responsing to your posting. On your list of children of Johannes GRUBER (1781-1851) and Catherine FAUST (1790-1872) two are grandsons, not sons. Children of Johannes Sr. & Catharine: 1) Peter b.1815 m. Lydia MOHNEY - 6 children 2) Christina b.1817 m. Samuel HOLBEN - 8 children 3) Henry b.1819 m.Catherine WOLBAUGH - 8 children 4) Hannah b.1821 m. Elisha RUTH - 8 children 5) John Jr. b.1824 m. Euphema CAMPBELL (myGreatGrandparents) - 6 children 6) Andrew Jacob b.1826 m. Elizabeth REINARD & Salome REINARD - total 10 children 7) George b.1828 m. Elizabeth BEST - no children John Wm. Martin GRUBER (1870-1943) is son of John GRUBER Jr. & Euphema CAMPBELL. "JWM" is my GrandFather. They had 6 children with only 3 living past childhood. They lived in Elk City and Elk Twp., Clarion Co. Johannes Franklin GRUBER (1844-1896) is oldest son/child of Henry GRUBER & Catharine WOLBAUGH. He m. Eve MERCER 1 Apr 1867 and she died 3 months later. [source: his Civil War Pension papers] He m. Sarah Jane HILLIARD 27 Aug 1868 and they had 7 children in the Hawthorn area of Redbank Twp., Clarion Co. ALL the remaining children of Henry & Catherine moved with them to Isabella County, Michigan, and married spouses from that area and they stayed there. George and wife Elizabeth BEST did not have any children. He served in an Ohio unit. They also moved to Isabella County after the Civil War. Peter's wife Lydia MOHNEY died in 1858. Their youngst son was Jacob M. and he was 5 yrs old and stayed with Peter's brother & wife, John & Euphema, who did not have any children yet. Jacob/Jake was raised and treated like a son by my Great-Grandparents. Peter took the other 4 children to Michigan and relocated in Isabella County like his two brothers Henry & George. As long as I'm talking about children of Johannes GRUBER Sr., I will include 2 daughters of first wife, Elizabeth BEST. 1) Eve/Eva born at 1810 in Northampton County 2) Elizabeth born 1812 in Moore Twp, Northampton Co. The mother, Elizabeth died the day daughter Elizabeth was baptized. We do not know if daughter died or was raised by someone in the FAUST family, or ...? 1) Eve/Eva moved with Johannes Sr & Catharine & 7 children to Redbank Twp., Armstrong County, in 1836 [source: Family Reunion minutes of 1935.] Eve/Eva married Jacob SHELLY and had 8 children. Youngest, Eliza Jane SHELLY was 2 yrs old when her mother died in 1849. Eliza Jane was given to John Jr & Euphema to raise; maybe since they did not have children yet. Eliza Jane stayed connected to the John & Euphema GRUBER family her entire life. Eliza Jane married John SHERMAN and they had 11 children in the Redbank area. Her father, Jacob SHELLY remarried to Mary MINICH HAINES and had a couple more sons who relocated in Michigan years later. After John SHERMAN's death in in 1912, Eliza Jane filed for a Civil War soldier's Widow's Pension and the affidavits are excellent about Eliza Jane being raised by John Jr & Euphema GRUBER; one affidavit dictated by Euphema Campbell GRUBER herself. Guess that's enough for now. Keep in touch! Please Keep me as the source!! Marsha Allen, Tempe, AZ
