Sanders, formerly of Van James Wilbur "Web" Tarr, Polk Kristen Brooke Bondra, getting it right Jay W. Finefrock, getting it right Harry I. Geer Jr. Harry I. Geer Jr., 79, of 26 Hone Ave., Oil City, died at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Oil City Presbyterian Home following an extended illness. He had been a resident there since March 8. Born June 15, 1925, on Linden Avenue, Oil City, he was the son of the late Harry I. Geer Sr. and Orpha Stahlman Watson Geer Hipwell. He attended Pearl Avenue grade school and was a 1943 graduate of Oil City Senior High School. Mr. Geer was a radio operator in the U. S. Army and later served as a corporal with Company B, 728th MP Battalion during the Korean conflict. He had worked at the Worthington Corp. and retired as a machinist with Joy Manufacturing in Franklin. Mr. Geer enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, swimming and going on picnics with his family. He had been a former member of the VFW and the Pulaski Club. He was married June 13, 1959, in St. Joseph Church to the former Helen R. Riley. She preceded him in death Oct. 16, 2002. Mr. Geer is survived by two daughters, Barbara Duncan and her husband Andrew, and Connie Burns and her husband Robert, all of Oil City; six grandchildren, Michael and Kathryn Duncan and Robin, DeeDee, Dixie and Donald McClintock Jr.; a son-in-law, Donald McClintock of Oil City; a sister, Helen Kubista of the Oil City Presbyterian Home; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Faith Ann McClintock, and a brother, W. Wade Watson. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. today in the Reinsel Funeral Home, 116 Bissell Ave., Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Msgr. John W. Swoger, pastor of St. Joseph Church, presiding. Internment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the VNA Foundation, 176 E. Bissell Ave., Oil City 16301. Robert J. Hill Robert J. Hill, 73, of 221 Glenn Drive, Franklin, died at 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2005, at his residence. Born July 28, 1931, in Zelienople, he was the son of Florence Isabelle Graham and Robert LeRoy Hill. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. From 1952 to 1954 he was with the 25th Infantry Division where he received a Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. Mr. Hill was previously employed by Atlantic Richfield in Port Arthur, Texas. He also managed and operated two service stations in Franklin. He was employed by Koppers, worked in the local auto parts business including RPS, Worldwide Auto Parts and he managed NAPA Auto Parts until the store closing. Following his retirement, Mr. Hill work part-time at KMART and Buyer's Fair. He was also a bus driver for Head Start. He was active in many organizations and was post vice commander, Dist. 2 chief of staff at VFW Post No. 6384 in Nederland, Texas, from 1967 to 1968. He was a member of the American Legion Post 476, Franklin and a life member of VFW Post 1835 in Franklin where he also served as chaplain. Mr. Hill was a member of the East Grove United Methodist Church. He was an avid and expert outdoorsman and guitar player. He was a devoted friend to his pets, especially his dogs Prancer and Lucky. He was married Feb. 19, 1973, to the former Cynthia Brison and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hill is survived by a son, Michael R. Hill of Pittsburgh; three daughters, Susan Dechant and her husband Thomas of Franklin, Rita Stadler and her husband Orville III and Roberta Krenek and her husband Victor, all of Oil City; and four grandchildren, Leah Siemens and her husband Shaun of Alberta, Canada, and Evan, Kyle and Naomi Dechant of Franklin. He is also survived by a niece, Jaqueline Graham Milano of Philadelphia; a nephew, John Graham of Houston, Texas; a brother-in-law, Steve Brison and his wife Heather of Franklin; special nieces, Amanda and Sara Brison of Franklin; and cousins in Texas and Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Louise Busch on June 7, 1970; a son, Donald Jameson Hill; a brother, Jack Graham; a grandson, Levi Dechant; and a nephew, William Graham. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Bower, pastor of the Hasson Heights Presbyterian Church in Oil City officiating. Sanders, 72, of Howard, Ohio, formerly of Van, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Laurels of Mt. Vernon. Among her survivors are her husband, John Sanders of Howard; and a sister, Donna Johns and her husband, William, of Cranberry. James Wilbur "Web" Tarr James Wilbur "Web" Tarr, 74, of 123 Main Street Extension, Polk died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday June 1, 2005, in The Caring Place. Born Feb. 6, 1931, in Franklin, he was the son of Herbert B. and Isabelle McClelland Tarr. Mr. Tarr was a graduate of Franklin High School. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1950-1951. Mr. Tarr was retired from Polk Center where he had been employed as a groundskeeper. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and the Albright Sunday school class of the church. He enjoyed flowers, woodworking, hunting, fishing and camping. On May 25, 1974 he married the former Wynona I. "Lolly" Lane, who survives. Also surviving are a son, James Steven Tarr Sr. and his wife Debbie of Franklin; two stepsons, James R. Kilgore and his wife Pam of Polk and Robert K. Kilgore and his wife Carol of Titusville; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Anna Margaret Warner and her husband Dudley, Betty Walker, all of Meadville, Joan Latshaw and her husband Arden of Cranberry and Patty Hayes of Franklin; two brothers, Mike Tarr of Oil City and Bob Tarr and his wife Jean of Sandy Lake; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Tarr was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Floyd; an infant brother, Sammy; a sister-in-law, Joan Tarr; two brothers-in-law, Bill Hayes and Homer Walker; and two grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev.
