McAninch, 411 Liberty St., Franklin Sandra Jane Barr Ventura, Houston, Texas, formerly of Rimersburg Laura A. Cramer, gettiing it right L. Diane Burke L. Diane Burke, 63, of Scrubgrass Township, Emlenton, died Tuesday afternoon, May 31, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca, following an illness. Born Jan. 11, 1942, in Kane, she was the daughter of June M. Rossman Best Stewart of Knox and the late Harvey L. Best. She was a 1960 graduate of Keystone Area High School, Knox. Mrs. Burke was employed for a number of years at Rhea Wholesale Corp., later SORCE, near Clarion. She later became employed by Hickman Lumber Co. of Lisbon and Emlenton where she held the position of office manager at the time of her death. In addition to her full-time occupation, she handled the bookkeeping for several businesses in the local area. Mrs. Burke was a longtime member of East Unity Presbyterian Church in Cherry Valley Borough where she served as secretary-treasurer and clerk of session. A devoted Christian worker, she prepared the church bulletin for many years. Reading and studying the Bible was a passion for Mrs. Burke. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Emlenton for many years. Mrs. Burke was extremely devoted to her family and was fascinated with the planting and maintaining beautiful floral gardens at the family residence as well as the care of the grounds surrounding her home. She was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed playing the piano in the privacy of her home, especially playing and singing hymns. Mrs. Burke was a member of the Foxburg Country Club and was a member of the Tuesday Night Ladies Golf League at the club. She was married in St. Mark Church in Monroe, Clarion County, April 22, 1960, to Paul E. Burke, who survives. Also surviving are her mother of Knox; two sons, John P. Burke and wife, Stacy, of Pleasantville and Jeffrey L. Burke and fiancee, Dina Kephart, of Austin, Texas; and four grandchildren, Sarah, Annah, Noah and Avah Burke, all of Pleasantville. She also is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Best and wife, Melanie, and Ronald Best and wife, Rosie, all of Knox; one sister, Dolores Ritts and husband, Roger, of Knox; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her stepfather, "Russ" Stewart, formerly of the Knox area. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the East Unity Presbyterian Church, Cherry Valley Borough. Interment will be in the East Unity Church Cemetery. Jay W. Finefrock Jay W. Finefrock, 84, formerly of Shippenville, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in Clarion Hospital. Born May 10, 1921, he was the son of Frank W. and Ada May Stopp Finefrock. Mr. Finefrock farmed for many years and retired from Owens-Illinois in Clarion. After his retirement and the sale of the family farm, he turned to vegetable, fruit and flower gardening and could be found in his yard tending to his plants from early spring to fall. Mr. Finefrock was a member of Manor United Methodist Church and also was an active member of Murphy Grange. He was married April 24, 1943, to Alma Marjorie Finefrock, who preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Butch Campbell of Clarion; five grandchildren, Bradley Knight and wife, Julie, of Knox, Scott Knight and wife, Cindy and Patrick Knight and wife, Beverley, all of Orlando, Fla., Kyle Campbell of Monroeville and Kari Campbell of Clarion; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Bradley. He also is survived by one brother, Robert Finnefrock of Clarion; and two sisters, Hazel Pavlick of Sharon and Doris Carunga of Clarion. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Finefrock was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Finefrock; a brother, Edwin Finefrock; and a sister, Betty Rhodes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Jerry Belloit, pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Kirk Orr of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion. Interment will be in the Sligo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Manor United Methodist Church or to the Clarion-Forest VNA. Jane J. McAninch Jane J. McAninch, 76, of 411 Liberty St., Franklin, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin. Born Feb. 12, 1929, in Franklin, she was the daughter of George E. and Ethelee Ross Jolley. Mrs. McAninch worked since 1975 for the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. and also worked for other Franklin families doing housekeeping. She was associated with B.P.O. Elks No. 110 of Franklin where she played duckpin bowling. She also enjoyed bingo. Mrs. McAninch was married Aug. 20, 1948, to Clarence H. "Mac" McAninch, who died Aug. 26, 1988. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jeffrey (Rhonda) Steigerwald Sr. of Mercer, Mrs. Andy (Amy) Richey of Franklin and Mrs. Kenneth (Jamey) Botts of Stoneboro; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Steigerwald Jr. and wife, Wendy, Zachary Richey and Mackenzie Richey, all of Franklin, Joseph Steigerwald of Grove City, Jennifer Steigerwald of Mercer and Katie Botts and Erin Botts, both of Stoneboro; and two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Steigerwald and Emily Steigerwald, both of Franklin. She also is survived by a brother, R.C. Jolley and wife, Ann, of Alantic; and two sisters, Ms. Sue Lee and Ms. Jean Blandin, both of Franklin.
