Smith, 930 East Park Ave., Columbiana, Ohio and formerly of Broadwood Towers, New Bethlehem Getting it right - Marian L. Edwards Erika E. Bueter Erika E. Bueter, 86, a resident of The Caring Place in Franklin and formerly of Ellwood City and Oil City, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Dec. 28, 1920 in Germany, she was a daughter of Johann and Antonia Marcenak Kretschmer. Mrs. Bueter lived in Ellwood City from 1951 to 1985 where she had done janitorial work at Evans Forge and for 19 years cared for Mrs. Ralph Evans' home. She attended St. Stephen Church and Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City and most recently attended the First Church of God of Franklin. Mrs. Bueter played in the bell choir at The Caring Place. On Nov. 18, 1940 she married Frantz Bueter, who preceded her in death in 1957. She is survived by a daughter Roswitha Dixon and her husband Raymond of Wexford; a granddaughter, Rebecca Howard and her husband Ryan and their son Logan of Norfolk Mass., and several nieces and nephews in Germany. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Hans Reiner Bueter, an infant daughter, three brothers and one sister. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at The Caring Place in Franklin. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at The Caring Place with the Rev. John R. Friggle and the Rev. James R. Leichliter officiating. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Ellwood City. The Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ruth Ann Hagan Ruth Ann Hagan, 60, of 315 Bissell Ave., Oil City, died at 7:32 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie. Born June 10, 1947 in Erie, she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Rosalie Range. Formerly of Erie, Mrs. Hagan lived in the Oil City area for the past 25 years. She had worked as a bartender while living in Erie and has worked as a private family caregiver in Franklin. Mrs. Hagan was of Protestant faith and had attended the First Church of God in Oil City. She enjoyed making afghans and crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. On March 28, 1965, she married Donald L. Hagan, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Donald A. Hagan of Franklin and Jody L. Hagan of Oil City; one daughter, Cynthia L. Hagan of Franklin; one brother, Roger Range of Centennial, Colo.; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 4:15 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Bonnie Stoudt, associate pastor at the First Church of God in Oil City, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Dorothy I. Smith, 94, of 930 East Park Ave., Columbiana, Ohio and formerly of Broadwood Towers in New Bethlehem, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Parkside Healthcare Center in Columbiana. Born May, 26, 1913 in Mudlic in Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Hudson and Tannie Shaffer Smith. Ms. Smith was a laborer for Char-Val Candies in New Bethlehem for 40 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of God in Fairmont City where she was church clerk for 39 years. Ms. Smith is survived by two nieces, Shirley Snyder of Columbiana, whom she raised from birth, and Mary Jane McGarrity of New Bethlehem; and a brother, Charles Vern Smith of Columbiana. She is also survived by many great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Laura Bailey, and two brothers, Mervin Smith and Hudson Smith Jr. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 12 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Crawford, the Rev. Kate Reitz and Carol Brown officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Mahoning Township, Armstrong County. Getting it right - Marian L. Edwards Marian L. Edwards, 82, of Waterston Road, Clarion, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, in the Hospice House, Shippenville. She is survived by several children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, including a granddaughter, Audra Favre.
