Bowser, 101 Pauls Lane, Rimersburg (Huey) Bebe Michelle Jones, Millerstown Road, Marble Paige B. Smith, formerly of 28 Parker Ave, Franklin Charles W. Spuck, Reynoldsville RD 2 Herbert J. Stanford, Heath, Ohio, Oil City native Velma A. Walter, Acme Street, Rimersburg Arlie Elaine Curll, getting it right Wendy O. Amsler Wendy O. Amsler, 51, of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, following a lengthy illness. Born May 18, 1953, in Brookville, she was the daughter of F. Wilson and Oleta B. Amsler. She was a graduate of Clarion Area High School and Clarion University. Ms. Amsler went on to complete a specialized course in campus police training at Gettysburg and served as a Clarion University policewoman before moving to the Pittsburgh area. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarion. Surviving are two sisters, Dr. Christine Amsler and husband, Dr. Peter Schmidt, of Lansing, Mich., and Julia M. Amsler and husband, Ken Graybill, of Clarion. Ms. Amsler was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Amsler. Private services were held in the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion. The family requests donations be made to a charity of one's choice. Delores D. Baker Delores D. Baker, 88, of Beverly Healthcare-Shippenville, formerly of the Cook Forest area and Connellsville, died at 12:25 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, in the healthcare facility. Born May 14, 1916, in Monessen, she was the daughter of Joseph and Kathryn Fredona Ginglardi. Mrs. Baker was married to William C. Baker, who preceded her in death. The Bakers moved to this area from Connellsville in 1970. She was a member of the Marienville Area Civic Association. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, traveling, camping and keeping her home neat. Surviving are a son, Miles E. Baker of Knox; a sister, Lillian Halinka of Belle Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Belle Vernon Cemetery Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The David C. McEntire Funeral Home in Knox is in charge of arrangements. Bernard John Barrett Sr. Bernard John Barrett Sr., 78, of Butler, formerly of Needham, Mass., and Parker, retired from GTE-Sylvania in Needham, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at the home of his son in Bethesda, Md. Paul A. Bowser Paul A. Bowser, 87, of 101 Pauls Lane, Rimersburg (Huey), died at 6:05 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at his home following an illness. The Richard D. Bebe Michelle Jones Bebe Michelle Jones, 36, of Millerstown Road, Marble, who lived with her sister, Melissa Jones, and was formerly of Griffin, Ga., died Monday morning, Sept. 27, 2004, in Clarion Hospital. Paige B. Smith Paige B. Smith, 89, formerly of 28 Parker Ave., Franklin, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, in Horizon Village Nursing Home, Warren, Ohio. Born Oct. 25, 1915, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Kathallen M. Shuler Braymer. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Rocky Grove Fire Department Auxiliary and had been a dispatcher for the Rocky Grove Fire Department. She also was a member of the D.A.R. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mrs. Smith was married June 19, 1936, to George A. Smith, who died Aug. 1, 2001. Surviving are two sons, George S. Smith and wife, Pat, of Lebanon, Conn., and Michael Gary Smith and wife, Nancy, of Southington, Ohio; a daughter, Paige Louise Smith of Los Angeles, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Emerson Larry Smith; and a brother, Robert Braymer. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Parker, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church of Rocky Grove, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church of Rocky Grove. Edward W. Gabrys, associate director, is in charge of arrangements. Charles W. Spuck Charles W. Spuck, 88, of Reynoldsville RD 2, died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, in Jefferson Manor, Brookville. Born March 23, 1916, in Soldier, he was the son of Stephen and Anastasia Nakoneczny Spuck. Mr. Spuck earned a doctorate in 1962 in natural medicine from Mid-Western University, Missouri. He spent the majority of his life helping others through the art of natural medicines. He enjoyed spending time with his family and reading and learning. His focus over the years in natural medicines and religious studies lead to numerous certificates of achievement in those fields. Mr. Spuck retired after 26 years of service at DuBois Regional Medical Center and later from Christ the King Manor of DuBois. He was married May 24, 1958, to Melda Bussatto, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Charles Mike Spuck of Reynoldsville, Timothy Spuck of Oil City and Daniel Spuck of Mercer; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Charlene) Sherman of Corsica, and Mrs. Jerry (Patricia) Stahlman, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Giambanco and Linda Spuck, all of Brookville; and 13 grandchildren. He also is survived by one brother, Peter Spuck of DuBois; and three sisters, Mary Lupo of Portchester, N.Y., Stella Yamrick of Sykesville and Nadgia Horner of Cortland, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spuck was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and John Spuck; and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Shepler Spuck. Stanford, 86, of Heath, Ohio, who was born in Oil City and was involved in jewelry engraving and watch making, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, in Licking Memorial Hospital. Velma A. Walter Velma A. Walter, 95, of Acme Street, Rimersburg, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin, following a brief illness. Born June 6, 1909, in Madison Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Minnie Pearl Ramsey. She attended Wildcat Elementary School. Mrs. Walter was a longtime member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church near Rimersburg. She enjoyed reading. Mrs. Walter was married in Rimersburg July 20, 1927, to David Lee Walter Sr., who died Jan. 16, 1983. She and her husband lived in Phoenix, Ariz., in 1936 and 1937 due to his health. Surviving are one son, David L. Walter Jr. and wife, Roseann, of Rimersburg; two granddaughters and their husbands, Diane and Robert Pause of Tallahassee, Fla., and Wendy and David Hutchings of Anchorage, Alaska; five great-grandchildren, D. Russell Pause of Bellsville, Mich., Brandi Barnhouse and husband, Scott, of New Port Richey, Fla., Lindsay Pause of Tallahassee, Fla., and Kirby Hutchings and Eryn Hutchings, both of Anchorage, Alaska; and four great-great-grandchildren, Robert Pause of Bellsville, Mich., and Aaron Barnhouse, Kenneth Barnhouse and Gregory Barnhouse, all of New Port Richey, Fla. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elsie Croyle of Rimersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Walter was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen and Sarah Dunkle, Viola Flick and Olive Dunkle; and three brothers, William, Harry and Charles Dunkle.
