Nixon, Tampa, Fla., formerly of Rouseville Reita M. Pay, Marienville Michael Kent Pride, 318 W. Third St., Oil City Berniece K. Rapp, Erie, Fryburg native Almeda K. Simpson, Summerville Reynold M. "Ren" Stoltz, Titusville Larry T. Cribbet, 62, of 312 Washington Ave., Oil City, died at 10:36 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a short illness. Born Jan. 2, 1942, in Georgetown, Ohio, Brown County, he was the son of the late Clark W. and Mary E. Watson Cribbet. Mr. Cribbet was educated in the Georgetown Area Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from July 17, 1962, to July 3, 1965. Mr. Cribbet was a truck drive for Commercial Lovelace of Ohio. He was a Christian. Mr. Cribbet enjoyed NASCAR and fishing. He was a member of the PNA. Surviving are his spouse, Kathryn Aites Cribbet of Oil City; five children, Denise, Rickie, Dawn and Amy, all of Ohio, and Julie Cribbet of Oil City. He also is survived by two brothers, Marvin Cribbet and Kenny Cribbet, both of Ohio; and a sister, Sonja Mize of Ohio. There will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Reinsel Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffory Buechner, Labourers of the Harvest Ministry of Oil City, officiating. Interment will take place in Rockland Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses. Eileen A. Hartman, 86, of 7 E. Second St., Oil City, died at 11:51 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin. Born Dec. 30, 1917, in Oil City, she was the daughter of William Joseph and Frances Rudy Gegogeine. Mrs. Hartman was a 1938 graduate of Oil City High School. She worked for 19 years in the Dietary Department of the Oil City Hospital. Mrs. Hartman was a member of the Rouseville United Methodist Church and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Oil City. She was a member and past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed crafts, spiritual music, Christmas and the spirit of giving. On Aug. 10, 1946, she married Jack D. Hartman, who died March 21, 1983. Surviving are a son, P. Michael Hartman of Polk; a daughter, Cheryl Hartman of Oil City; and five grandchildren, Kerri Smayda and Tyler Smayda of Oil City, Matthew Cook, Morgan Eileen Hartman and Stephen Patrick Hartman, all of Rocky Grove. She also is survived by one brother, Glenn Gegogeine of Reno; and two sisters, Mabel Urey and Phyllis Stover, both of Oil City. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Gegogeine; and two sisters, Frances Hoffman and Shirley Bumbaugh. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Morrison Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph E. Filer IV, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to the American Cancer Society. Phyllis Sheffer Lineman, 84, of Ocala, Fla., a former Oil City resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, in Atlanta, Ga., following a lingering illness. Born June 29, 1920, in Van, she was the daughter of Warren and Izora Ziegler Sheffer. She was a 1938 graduate of Cranberry High School where she was valedictorian. Her daughter, Eleanor, and grandson, Travis, achieved this same honor at their graduations. Mrs. Lineman attended Welch's Business College in Oil City and worked in Franklin for the Kalamazoo Stove Co. In 1941, she married her Sunday school teacher, Nelson "Nels" Lineman, who died in 1996. They were active members of Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lineman began work in 1959 as a secretary for Boyd Conrad Real Estate and for Brennan Breene Insurance Co. Following retirement, she and her husband, moved to Ocala, Fla., which she dearly loved. Surviving are her daughter, Eleanor Lewis and husband, Robert, of Roswell, Ga.; her son, Lynn Lineman of Vero Beach, Fla.; two grandsons, Travis Lewis and wife, Marya, of Atlanta, Ga., and Kyle Lineman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and a great-grandson, Nathan Lewis of Atlanta. She also is survived by her brother, Merle Sheffer, and wife, Patricia, of Seneca. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lineman was preceded in death by her younger sister, Erma, in 1937; her father, Warren Sheffer, in 1968; and her mother, Izora Sheffer in 1981. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in the Heckathorn Cemetery, Venango County. Memorials may be made to her daughter's ministry, Big Dream Ministries, Inc., P.O. Box 862006, Marietta, Ga., 30062-0001, which is producing a video Bible study called "The Amazing Collection - The Bible for Women Book by Book." James E. Nixon, 74, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Rouseville, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, after a long battle with lung cancer. Born July 2, 1930, in Rouseville, he was the son of James and Gertrude Nixon. He was a graduate of Oil City High School. Mr. Nixon joined the Navy in 1948 and served in China, Japan, Malaya and the Philippines. He worked at Oil Well in Oil City and Koppers before moving to Florida. While living in Florida, he worked at a chemical plant. Mr. Nixon enjoyed going to the dog track with his special friend, Marshall. He first was married to Ethel Brink and they had four children: Mike and wife, Annette, of Jacksonville, Fla., Andy and wife, Debbie, and Pat John and wife, Robin, all of Tampa, Fla., and Sandra and husband, Ron, of Maryland. He was married to Mary Webb, who survives, along with two sisters, Crissie Voisin of Titusville and Mae Gegogeine of Oil City; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three stepsons. Interment was in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Reita M. Pay, 78, of Marienville, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 7, 2004, at her home following a lingering illness. Born March 19, 1926, near Uniontown, she was the daughter of Paul David and Stella Wilson Guthrie. During World War II, Mrs. Pay worked as a welder in the manufacture of Good Year Blimps and later worked at a laundry business in Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Pay was married Oct. 26, 1946, to Ronald Pay, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Diane Freas of Akron, Ohio; four grandchildren, Randy and Heather Freas and David and Kim Pay; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Ing; her dog, Bayb; and a special caregiver, Theresa. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pay was preceded in death by a son, Paul Pay; one brother, Willis Guthrie; and one sister, Vernice Secen. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home, Marienville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Evans, chaplain of the Visiting Nurses Hospice Program, officiating. Interment will be in North Forest Cemetery, Marienville. Michael K. Pride, 65, of 318 W. Third St., Oil City, died at 5:36 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin, following a short illness. Born April 3, 1939, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles and Christinia Goeff Pride. He was raised and education in the Morgantown area. Mr. Pride was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from Oct. 3, 1956, through April 7, 1960, with duty in England and Spain. He worked for Burns Security of Pittsburgh for more than 15 years. Mr. Pride was a Christian. He was a sports fan who enjoyed all college sports, the Steelers, the Pirates and West Virginia University football. Mr. Pride first was married to Carolyn West of Morgantown and she died in 1966. He later married the former Betty Cunningham Wright and she died July 6, 2004. Surviving are three children, Sherry Sweitzer and husband, Howard, of Oil City, Lydia Szyjka and husband, Frank, of Wilmington, Del., and Michael Pride of Lakeland, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Mary Anne Shirey and husband, Chuck, and Peggy Ritchey and husband, Merle, all of Oil City, and Tammy Pfeuffer and husband, Wayne, of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Joseph M. Benoit, Carolyn Benoit, Melissa Benoit, David Sweitzer, Howard Sweitzer, Mae Shirey and Michael Pride; and one great-grandchild, Caitlin Benoit. He also is survived by a brother and his wife, William and Sandra Pride of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Ruth. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m. today in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Committal services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Berniece K. Rapp, 79, an Erie resident for 50 years, formerly of Fryburg, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie. Born Dec. 7, 1924, in Fryburg, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ethel Hale McCauley. Mrs. Rapp was married for 59 years to Joseph D. Rapp, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Joseph Rapp Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Betty Button of Erie; three grandchildren, Chandra Light and husband, Marty, and Dana McIntire and husband, Michael, all of Erie, and Damien Rapp and wife, Kim, of Shaw Air Force Base, S.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Willey, Mackenzie Light and Broderick McIntire. She also is survived by one brother, Henry McCauley and wife, Frances, of Oil City. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rapp was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph McCauley. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. James Roman Catholic Church, Erie. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Fryburg. Simpson, 65, of Summerville, died Sunday morning, Sept. 5, 2004, in Meadville Medical Center. Reynold M. "Ren" Stoltz, 48, of 10843 Pastorius Road, Titusville, died of a heart attack at his home Monday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2004. Born Nov. 29, 1955, in Oil City, he was the son of Shirley Hunter Stoltz and the late Jack Stoltz. Mr. Stoltz was a 1973 graduate of Cranberry High School where he was a member of the physical fitness team throughout high school and also was a member of the wrestling team. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, entering the service July 6, 1973, at Cranberry. He served aboard the USS Dixon in San Diego, Calif., until his honorable discharge July 7, 1976. He than served in the U.S. Naval Reserve until 1979. Mr. Stoltz had been employed at Sears in Cranberry as a service technician for 20 years. In 1997, he started his own business, Stoltz Appliance Repair. While operating his own business, he continued to subcontract with Sears for furnace installations. In 1999 he changed his business to Stoltz Heating & Cooling. He was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, deacon and usher and was a Sunday school teacher. He volunteered his repair skills for many of the church's needs. Mr. Stoltz played in the Titusville Softball League as well as the Oil City 35 & Over Men's Softball League. He enjoyed hunting, water skiing, exercising and spending time with his family. Mr. Stoltz was married in St. Stephen Church, Oil City, Sept. 4, 1982, to the former Nancy Breene, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Lindsey, Allison and Jacqueline Stoltz, all at home; his mother, Shirley Stoltz of Cranberry; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, M.B. and Louise Breene of Oil City; two brothers and their wives, Jeffrey and Susan Stoltz of Eidson, Tenn., and Philip Oscar and Debbie Stoltz of Emlenton; and two sisters and their husbands, Sally and Ted Williams of Seneca and Leslie and Scott Camden of Oil City. He also is survived by the following sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Patricia Breene Hipkins and husband, Lloyd, of Newport, Va., Mary Breene Smith of Denver, Colo., Catherine Breene Levine and husband, John, of Moon Township, Tom Breene and wife, Colleen, of Oil City and Brennan Breene of Bridgeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Stoltz was preceded in death by a sister, Jacquelynn Stoltz; and a nephew, Matthew Stoltz. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Titusville First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Barry E.
