Daugherty, 759 Coal City Road, Kennerdell Sandra Jean Devoy, Sligo Jack Alexander Manley, New Bethlehem Johan Michiel "John" Pfauth, West Hickory and Philadelphia Constance Angela Felicia Troilo, 311 Center St., Franklin Jean Lucinda Ward, Missoula, Mont., formerly of Oil City Violet Mae Conner Violet Mae Conner, 86, of Riverview Apartments, East Brady, formerly of Sandy Hollow near Rimersburg, died of natural causes early Monday morning at her home. Born Oct. 10, 1917, in West Monterey, Clarion County, she was the daughter of George B. and Jennie Myers Terwilliger. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and attended the United Methodist church in East Brady. During her husband's employment career, they lived in Akron, Ohio, where they raised their family. They returned to Sandy Hollow following his retirement. Mrs. Conner was married in Butler June 15, 1938, to Robert Wetzel Conner, who died Dec. 17, 1991. Surviving are three sons, Roy G. Conner and wife, Martha, of Manchester, Ohio, Clifford B. Conner and wife, Susan, of Hartville, Ohio, and Robert M. Conner and friend, Karen Hartzell of Fryburg; three daughters, Rosella J. Temple of Kimbolton, Ohio, Judith Rae Nicholson and husband, Merle, of Kimbolton, Ohio, and Elaine K. Conner and friend, Ken Reece, of Norton, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by seven brothers, Roy N. Terwilliger, Byron B. Terwilliger, Claude Terwilliger, James Terwilliger, Arnold Terwilliger, Charles Terwilliger and Wayne Terwilliger. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday in the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Daugherty Charles F. Daugherty, 77, of 759 Coal City Road, Kennerdell, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, in The Caring Place, Franklin. Born Sept. 17, 1926, in Seneca, he was the son of Cyrus Wade and Luella Clark Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty attended public schools in Cranberry. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Mr. Daugherty was employed as a foreman at Continental Can in Oil City, retiring in 1987 after 391/2 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his hunting dogs and television, especially wrestling. Mr. Daugherty was married Jan. 6, 1951, to the former Gretchen Hendershot, who survives. Also surviving are a brother and his wife, Robert and Phyllis Daugherty of Victory Heights; two sisters, Jean Weaver of Hampton, Va., and Brenda Seigworth and husband, Fred, of Seven Fields, Mars; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Daugherty. In addition to his parents, Mr. Daugherty was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Daugherty; a sister, Lois Shultz; and a brother, Kenneth Daugherty. Sandra Jean Devoy Sandra Jean Devoy, 57, of Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, in Clarion Hospital following an illness. Born July 1, 1947, in Butler, she was the daughter of Robert A. and Duretha Fair Texter. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, Mich. She had been employed as a computer accounting clerk in various medical offices in Michigan. She was affiliated with Glenwood United Methodist Church in Michigan. Surviving are a daughter, two sons, three sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, a brother preceded her in death. At her request, there will be no visitation. Jack Alexander Manley Jack Alexander Manley, 83, of New Bethlehem, died Monday evening, Sept. 13, 2004, in the Clarion Hospital. Born Oct. 24, 1920, in New Bethlehem in the home where he currently lived, he was the son of Warren W. and Lillian Ruffner Manley. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in England and France. Mr. Manley was a truck owner and operator for 30 years. On March 30, 1934, he became a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Bethlehem. Mr. Manley was a 55-year member of the American Legion and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member and past master of the New Bethlehem Masonic Lodge No. 522, the Coudersport Consistory and the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh. Mr. Manley was married Aug. 14, 1959, to Dorothy Brocious, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Hise and husband, John, of Cincinnati, Ohio; three granddaughters, Jennifer McMennamin and husband, Kevin, of Ellicott City, Md., Heather Hise of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Wendy Hise of Spokane, Wash.; one great-grandson, Andrew McMennamin of Ellicott City, Md.; and two cousins, Nancy Sheehan of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Hervey Everitt of Sarasota, Fla. Johan Michiel 'John' Pfauth Johan Michiel "John" Pfauth, 80, of West Hickory, more recently of Philadelphia, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at his home in Philadelphia. The Norman J. Constance Angela Felicia Troilo Constance Angela Felicia Troilo, 55, of 311 Center St., Franklin, died at 6:38 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, in the Clarion Hospital. Born Oct. 27, 1948, in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Constantino and Elizabeth Franchello Troilo. She was a 1967 graduate of Franklin High School. Ms. Troilo was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and drawing pictures. She was particularly fond of children, spending time at amusement parks especially Conneaut Lake. She also had a very strong devotion to animals all her life, especially her pet cats and dogs. Ms. Troilo was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are her daughter, Nicole Ann Troilo at home; a brother, Nicholas Anthony Troilo of Dallas, Texas; and Linda Marie Chapin of Franklin, who was like a sister to Ms. Troilo, along with her husband, Jim Chapin, and their daughter, April Chapin. She also is survived by many loving cousins. Ms. Troilo also was like a special grandmother to Victoria Pippin, Dennis Michael Carter, Andrew Pippin, Becca, Skylar and Chelsey Spencer, and Ashley Hudson. A celebration of her life will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk St., Franklin. Interment will follow Friday in St. Patrick Cemetery. Jean Lucinda Ward Jean Lucinda Ward, 79, of Missoula, Mont., formerly of Oil City, died of natural causes Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in Riverside Health Center. Born July 18, 1925, in Oil City, she was the daughter of Robert and Irene Karns. She attended Oil City schools and was an avid softball player in her youth. Mrs. Ward retired as a lunch counter manager at Woolworth's. She was a generous and fun-loving spirit and enjoyed fishing and bowling throughout her life. Mrs. Ward was married in Oil City March 18, 1946, to Albert C. Ward, who preceded her in death. They met at Continental Can Co. Surviving are a son, Albert R. Ward, a retired physician in Missoula, Mont.; and two grandsons, Ryan of Missoula and Blake of Barcelona, Spain. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Karns; and a sister, Joanne Warfield of Oil City.
