Stella Jo Say, Ruskin, Fla., formerly of Grove City Mamie Elizabeth "Betty" Troup, 746 15th St. Getting it right - Mary Margaret Hartzell James L. "Stitch" Eddy, 59, of 228 E. Walnut St., Titusville, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec.16, 2007, at UPMC-Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Mr. Eddy was born Aug. 7, 1948, in Titusville, a son of the late Gerald and Mary Wiehe Eddy. He graduated from Titusville High School in 1967 and earned an associate degree in marketing from Rochester Institute of Technology. Mr. Eddy formerly owned James L. Eddy Associates for more than 20 years as independent representative for leather products. He later went to work for Drake Printing as a sales representative. He was member of F & AM Lodge 754, Zem Zem Shrine, Colonel Drake Shrine Club of which he served as past president, BPOE Lodge 264 and a seven-year member of Venango County Tri-Wheels riding and participating in parades. He was a social member of Bruce Shorts VFW Post 5958, Cleo J. Ross American Legion Post 368 and PNA Group 2031. Mr. Eddy enjoyed golfing, cooking for special events and being with his family. Survivors include his wife Barbara Blossey Eddy whom he married Jan. 1, 1994, in Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Christopher Eddy of Massachusetts; two step-sons, Brett Johnson and his wife Katy of Gibsonia and Eric Johnson and his wife Hannah of Cheswick; four step-grandchildren Brooke, Evan, Max and Riley Johnson; a brother, William Eddy and his wife Nancy of Summerfield, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home, Inc., 203 E. Main St., Titusville. F. & A. M. Lodge 754 will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. BPOE Lodge 264 will conduct a memorial service at 6:45 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Jacqueline Wagner, senior assistant to the pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Eisenman, 81, of 351 Causeway Drive, formerly of 1132 Buffalo St., Franklin, died at 3:49 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at Sugarcreek Station. Born March 24, 1926, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Anson C. and Ruth E. Connell Jacobs. Mrs. Eisenman was a clerk for Penelec and also the City of Franklin. She was a secretary for Jacobs Television, a business owned by her brother in Franklin, for many years. She was a member of St. John Episcopal Church. Mrs. Eisenman enjoyed stamp collecting and reading. She loved animals. She was married Nov. 22, 1957, to John "Jack" F. Eisenman who preceded her in death July 8, 1992. Mrs. Eisenman is survived by two children, David E. Gulnac of Franklin and Louise Kelley of 106 Palmer Ave., Franklin and her fiancé Ted Green, also of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Melvin (Janet R.) Hartle of Conneaut Lake; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Dorothy King, a resident of Sugarcreek Station. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, William R. Jacobs. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, with the Rev. Ronald Bole of VNA Hospice, officiating. Gladys Hoovler Comfort Oaks Gladys Hoovler Comfort Oaks, a lifelong resident of Franklin, died Dec.14, 2007, at her winter home in Lake Alfred, Fla. Born Dec. 26, 1922, she was a daughter of Orin F. and Grace Lineman Hoovler. She was a 1941 graduate of Franklin High School. Mrs. Oaks worked as a bookkeeper at the old People's Clothing Store on Liberty Street, was the manager of the drive-in Branch of the First National Bank for many years, and was a caseworker for the Pennsylvania Department of Services from which she retired in 1981. For 25 years since her retirement, Mrs. Oaks enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. Throughout her life she loved family, friends, and the beauty of Franklin. She greatly enjoyed reading and a book was an almost constant companion. A quick smile, a generous spirit, and a gentle heart were her nature. Mrs. Oaks was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She is survived by her devoted husband Carl; a son, Ronald Comfort and his wife Marilyn of Charlottesville, Va.; and grandchildren, Heather Comfort of Harrisonburg, and Virginia and Jason Comfort of Charlottesville. Mrs. Oaks is also survived by a brother, Harry Hoovler and his wife Alma of Franklin; a stepson, Dennis Oaks and his wife Debbie of Franklin; and a stepdaughter Connie Campbell of Polk. Many nephews and nieces survive in addition to three step-grandchildren, Jeff and Andy Phillips of Polk and Jessica Oaks of Franklin; and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harold Comfort; two brothers, Ray and Robert Hoovler; and a sister, Glora Lepley. Mrs. Oaks was cremated and a memorial service will be planned and announced at a future time. Stella Jo Say Stella Jo Say, 73, 4120 Cockroach Bay Road, Lot 150B, Ruskin, Fla., formerly of Grove City, died at 3:04 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at her home. She is survived by her husband, Allen; and four daughters, Linda Jo Vitale and her husband Bruce of Polk, Patricia Say Husband of Mercer, Jackie Lee Say of Tampa, Fla. and Vicki Say of Jackson Center.
