    3. The Derrick, December 24, 2007: Judith A. "Judy" Ewing, Warren Irene M. Lytle, Strattanville Debra A. Sonoski Pastor, 327 Linden Ave. Ronald Merle Pollock, Sligo Mary Sabatini, Oil City and formerly of Franklin Gladys McDowell Warner, Georgia Judith A. "Judy" Ewing, 68, of 336 Buchanan St., Warren, died Saturday morning, Dec. 22, 2007, at the Warren General Hospital after a one-week hospitalization. She was born Jan. 2, 1939, in Oil City, and has resided the past 29 years in Warren after moving from Niagara Falls, N.Y. She was employed for 25 years with Dr. Paul A. Bialas practice as office manager retiring in 2003. Mrs. Ewing was an active member with the First Lutheran Church where she was on the church altar guild, TAP program, senior fellowship, church greeter and served as a substitute office worker. She was a avid bowler and served as secretary of the Warren Women's Bowling Association and worked on many bowling tournaments. She was a member of the Retired Military Couples group. Mrs. Ewing was known by her family for being a terrific daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was always there when a friend needed her. She was a very well-organized person and will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. She was married July 3, 1959, in Oil City, to Thomas G. Ewing who died Jan. 13, 2007. She is survived by her mother, Ann Girts Tingue of Oil City; two sons, Jeffrey Ewing and his wife, Kari, and Robert Ewing and his wife, Melanie; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Jordan and Sydney Ewing all of Warren; a sister Dixie Andres and her husband, John of Oil City; a brother, Larry Tingue and his wife, Bev of Pekin, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, George "Ben" Tingue; and a grandson, William "Billy" Thomas Ewing. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the First Lutheran Church, Warren. A funeral and committal service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the church by the Rev. David M. Blank Sr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through the First Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society. Lytle, 86, of Strattanville, and formerly of Philipsburg, died early Saturday morning, Dec. 22, 2007, at the Clarion Hospital. Born June 10, 1921, in Morris Township, Clearfield County, she was the daughter of James F. and Emma Brown Eyerly, who both preceded her in death. Mrs. Lytle was a graduate of Philipsburg High School. She was a homemaker, enjoyed her knitting and spending time with her grand children. She was married March 7, 1944, in Alexandria, Va., to Ned D. Lytle who preceded her in death on Aug.18, 2002. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, David and James; and three sisters, Emmaline, Rachel and Dorothy. Surviving are four daughters, Judith A. Lytle of Strattanville, Emma R. Stephens and her husband Walden of West Melbourne, Fla., Nellie N. Boyles and her husband John of Barneveld, N.Y. and Irene M. Rader and her husband Patrick of Strattanville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Roseann Chadima of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St. Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Olkowski, assistant pastor of the Zion Baptist Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Blair Memorial Park in Altoona. Gladys McDowell Warner Gladys McDowell Warner, 83, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 23, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Jocelyn Davis, in Doraville, Ga. The Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park Ave., Franklin, is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published in the Wednesday News Herald. Debra A. Sonoski Pastor, 47, of 327 Linden Ave., Oil City, died on Friday Dec. 21, 2007, at Hamot Medical Center after an extended illness. Born Sept. 7, 1960, in Oil City, she was the daughter of Paul Joseph and Clara L. Guth Sonoski Mrs. Pastor attended North Clarion High School and later graduated from Oil City High School. She had worked for the Bon-Ton, Wal-Mart, and had been a volunteer for UPMC Northwest. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Rosary society of the church. Mrs. Pastor enjoyed needlepoint, and working crossword puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and collecting unicorns and angels. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Eric J. Pastor and his wife Maricxi of Oil City and Christopher M. Pastor of Syracuse, Utah; four grandchildren, Arianne, Skyler, Kiana and Alexis; one brother, Joseph S. Sonoski and his wife Connie of Johnstown; two nephews, Josh and Chad and his wife Lisa; a niece, Shanna; a great niece, Emily; and a great-nephew, Conner. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home, 116 Bissell Ave., Oil City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.. Thursday in St. Joseph Church with Msgr. John W. Swoger, pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Fryburg. Condolences may be sent to www.reinselfuneralhome.com Ronald Merle Pollock, 79, of Sligo, died Sunday morning, Dec. 23, 2007, at the Clarion Hospital surrounded by his family. Born April 5, 1928, at the Jordan Homestead in Perry Township, Clarion County, he was a son of the late Merle Alvin and Sarah Gay Jordan Pollock. Mr. Pollock graduated from Parker High School in 1947. He worked at various coal mining operations in his early adult life and then was employed in the carpentry and construction field. He retired from the Construction Department at Brookville Hospital. He was well known for his fine carpentry and finishing skills. He enjoyed hunting, especially with family and also enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. He and his wife spent several winters in Florida and were members of the Clarion County Campers Association. He married the former Kaye E. Shook on June 22, 1951, in the bride's home. She has been his loving wife and soul mate for the past 56 years. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Linda K. McHenry and her husband Denny of New Bethlehem and Lori A. Pollock of Warsaw, Ind.; two sons, Dennis R. Pollock and his wife Sandy, of Sligo and Mark A. Pollock and his wife Lynn, of Sligo; seven grandchildren, Jessie K. Brocious, D. Todd McHenry and Matthew R. Pollock, all of New Bethlehem, Corrie A. Lerch of Sligo, Joshua Pollock of Dutch Hill, Ronald D. Pollock and Brenton A. Pollock of Sligo. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Liam Brocious, Lauren Lerch, Landon Lerch and Cole McHenry; and three brothers, W. Daryl Pollock of Bruin, Vernon L. Pollock of Bruin and Shirl R. Pollock of Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem. Viewing will also be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Oakland Church of God on Koehlersburg Road, Distant. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Mr. Pollock's son, the Rev. Mark Pollock, officiating. The Rev. James Swogger will assist with the service. Interment will follow at the Churchville Cemetery in Curllsville. Mary Sabatini, 95, formerly of Franklin, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at the Golden Living Center, Oil City. She was born May 14, 1912. Prior to moving to Franklin, she resided in Russelton and Pittsburgh. Mrs. Sabatini was employed by H.J. Heinz, Co., Pittsburgh, and Presbyterian Hospital. She was a foster grandparent for 10 years. She is survived by five children, Alberta Young, Albert Sabatini, Ida Medlen, Altheia Chaballa and Ronald Sabatini. Mrs. Sabatini was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sabtini; and four brothers. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Mrs. Sabatini's name to the Golden Living Center, Oil City.
