"Jack" Daugherty, 204 Wallaceville Road, Titusville Joseph D. "Pete" Moiseenko, Knox Harvey C. Reder, Lawson Nursing Home, Jefferson Hills, formerly of Fisher Mamie Elizabeth "Betty" Troup, 746 15th St., Franklin Donald E. Ace, 74, of Rockdale Road, Emlenton, Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, died at 6::45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at UPMC Northwest, Seneca, following a brief illness. Born Dec. 7, 1933, in Franklin, he was a son of Donald W. and Bertha M. Heckathorn Ace. He retired in 1996 from Cooper Energy in Grove City. Mr. Ace attended Chapel on the Hill Assembly of God in Emlenton. He enjoyed carpentry, hunting and fishing. He was married Feb. 20, 1956, in Emlenton to Frances Black Ace, who survives. Survivors also include seven children, Thomas E. Ace and wife, Melissa, Ronald J. Ace and wife, Ruth, Donald J. Ace and wife, Shirley, Sandra K. Edinger and husband, Terry, and Barbara Kriebel, all of Emlenton, Jerry L. Ace and wife, Jessica, of Wetumpka, Ala., and Kimberly Seamon and husband, Alan, of Meadville. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Clint Ace, Natasha Elder and husband, Nathan, Laura Ace and Ronald J. "RJ" Ace Jr., all of Emlenton, Jerod Ace of Streetsboro, Ohio, Casey Hovis and husband, Michael, of Rockhill, N.Y., Jessica Hagan of Greenwood, Ind., Tiffiny Hillwig and husband, Gary, of Parker, and Hillery Seamon and Billijo Seamon, both of Meadville. Survivors also include six great-grandchildren, Jake and Caleb Hovis, Haley and Taylor Ace, Chelsey Hillwig and Caden Ace; a brother, Robert L. Ace of Franklin; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Ace was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Hupp; a sister, June Marie Ace; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Hile Funeral Home, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Floyd Snyder, a cousin of Mr. Ace, officiating. Interment will take place in St. Petersburg Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. "Dick" Beightol, 74, of 373 Cooperstown Road, Cooperstown, died at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, Pa. The Timothy J. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk St., Franklin, is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will appear Friday in The News-Herald. John R. "Jack" Daugherty, 65, of 204 Wallaceville Road, Titusville, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at his residence. Born July 20, 1942, in Bridgeport, Ill., he was a son of Wayne S. and Dorothy Zilliffro Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty retired in 2004 from Pritchard's Bus Service, where he worked as a bus driver. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Oil City. He was also a life member of the PNA Club and a member of the Franklin Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, veteran bowling and competitive horseshoe pitching and his grandson, Logan. Surviving are two children, John L. Daugherty of Titusville and his special friend, Rhonda Bowersox of Oil City and Richard W. Daugherty and his wife, Karen, of Franklin; and a grandson, Logan R. Daugherty of Franklin. Survivors also include a sister, Pat Snyder and her husband, Mike, of Polk; three brothers, Larry Daugherty and his wife, Rose, of Wilson, N.C., Ray Daugherty of Butler and Jim Daugherty of Franklin; his former wife, Glenna Daugherty of Titusville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Daugherty; and a sister, Shirley Orr. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 9 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. "Pete" Moiseenko, 50, of Knox, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 19, 2007, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh from injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier in the day. The William N. Rupert Mortuary of Knox is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Friday in The Derrick. Harvey C. Reder Harvey C. Reder, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in Lawson Nursing Home, Jefferson Hills, in the Pittsburgh area. Born Aug. 3, 1937, in Pittsburgh, he was the only son of Francis and Virginia (Maggs) Reder. Mr. Reder lived in the Baldwin Borough area of Pittsburgh until 1981 and between 1981 and 2004 he lived in Fisher, Clarion County. He was a carpenter, working for the Carpenter's Union for 40 years, and was an avid outdoor sportsman. Surviving are his wife, Helen (Schmidt) Reder of Elizabeth; two daughters and their husbands, Lori and Rob Moran and Chris "Sissy" and Steve Balogh; five grandchildren, grandsons, Michael and Danny Moran and Josh Balogh and granddaughters, Sam Lee and Julia Balogh; and one sister and her husband, Virginia and Frank Daube. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Stephen D. Mamie Elizabeth "Betty" Troup, 40, of 746 15th St., Franklin, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Oct. 18, 1967, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Daniel Wallace Umstead and Betty Elizabeth Whitley Umstead. Mrs. Troup attended Franklin High School. She enjoyed her kids and grandkids, camping, scrapbooks, taking long walks and writing. Surviving are three daughters, Amber Troup and friend, Patrick Sinclair, of Oil City, Nicole Troup and boyfriend, Michael Odell, of Oil City, and Jill Sanford of Franklin; and one son, Cody Troup of Oil City. Survivors also include seven grandchildren, Haley Martin Troup, Jason Sinclair, Sierra Sinclair, Saige Troup and Aiden Odell, all of Oil City, and Devin Green and Isabel of Franklin; and her husband Harold D. Troup of Oil City. Also surviving are three brothers and their wives, Daniel Umstead and Staci of Reno, David Umstead and Sis of Franklin and Lloyd Umstead and Brenda of Franklin; three sisters, Patricia Kinch and Sonny of Clarksville, Tenn., Linda Lou Miller of Sugarcreek, and Mary Jane Nulf and Donny of Oil City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Morrison Funeral Home, 110 Petroleum St., Oil City.
